  1. A quick search online shows that there are quite a few "normal" places that do exactly the same thing that the board chose for us.
  2. I wonder if the reactions would be different if he were calling for a minimal pay raise for them? Many of these departments have gone a number of years without pay raises because the money isn't there. Many departments haven't even gotten a basic cost of living raise in years. This is the cheapest way for the State to help these agencies do a little something for these folks who have gone without those small raises that so many others in the working world take for granted. I'm not sure that I think now is the time considering the financial issues ahead of the state but I also don't th
  3. No ... but these days, work is work. Hope your teen finds a job.
  4. In a company the size of Hooters, there's no way the CEO would have time to run the company if he was going to all of the stores. (source - Wikipedia)
  5. www.snagajob.com Might not find exactly what you're looking for but there are a lot of jobs there.

  7. 120 and 278 I'll get you a number ... just a sec.
  8. We switched to Dr. Noel Battle last year ... and we really like him.
  9. Can you post a sample of one form another school? It might help some people if they see it ... might spark a memory or something.

    Question:

I sure would hate that ... not being able to go to my son's scout meetings ... not being able to go to my daughter's dance classes ... not being able to sleep in my own bed ... not having any choice regarding my food or my schedule ... not having the freedom that I am so used to ... and we won't even get into having to deal with all the conditions at the jail. And all of that aside, if the crime wasn't that serious, how much good is being done if the person (assuming all scenarios, not just this one person) ends up losing their job and is no longer able to keep their home and support the

    Question:

If he's doing work release, I feel differently about it. He's seeking a job and if he finds one, he'll be able to work during the day.

    Question:

    That's what I thought, too.
  15. Relearning and shifting to your mental gears to winter driving are not the same thing. And if you go out into winter weather driving conditions without mentally preparing, you're part of the problem. ("You" in the general sense.)
  16. We don't do Valentines Day. I really don't get the point of having a specific day to show our love, affection, appreciation, whatever else. That's supposed to happen everyday.
  17. I do agree with naturegirl that no matter where you are from and no matter what your experience, you do everyone a disservice if you go out in it when you don't absolutely have to. And mom2yana, generally speaking, of course people with more experience driving in it are going to be better at driving in it. As for the wrecks ... there's stupid everywhere.
  18. You also need to think about whether or not there's any chance she may decide to start working on things sooner rather than later. I know a number of people who started going through things very quickly afterward. Not a lack of love or respect ... just their way of dealing with things.
  19. I'm so sorry. So wonderful that you were all able to be there, though.
  20. I had family asking me about things the day of the memorial. It's all in how it is done.
