Hey Subby! I have a lawnmower for ya!
workingforaliving replied to King Tux Rentals's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Subby, if you come across something nice and ridable/easy to use that I can get for a housewarming present for my sister, that'd be awesome. I'm hoping to spend no more than $200. -
Illegal search and seizure? Unless my phone was driving the car that wrecked a warrant and the phone company need to be involved. I can see me going to jail over it.

It's bad luck to take it down before you have an epiphany.

Curriculum compacting is the name of the game.
-
Yesterday I realized I have 15 weeks worth of curriculum to teach and 12 weeks to teach it before CRCT. Please, please, please don't cancel school again....ever. Those 4 days at the beginning of the year and the week in Sept really f-ed up my curriculum map.

What Happens In Vegas Does Not Stay In Vegas
workingforaliving replied to Eddie Bennett's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I didn't do anything during Spring Break or Mardi Gras that I wouldn't have done stone cold sober in Paulding County, GA....but I'm sure I would have been treated differently by the locals. It is what it is. I don't do anything drunk that I wouldn't do sober and the same goes for my friends. If I'm with them and they're drunk (I'm ususally the DD anyways) I ask myself, "Would this dumbass do this dumbass thing sober?" If the answer is yes, then I don't stop them...if the answer is no, then I intervene. -

Weren't there NYE tornadoes in Arkansas? Surely there's a relationship between this and the dead birds. -
I am VERY against the voucher system. I prefer a "school choice" method. Same concept, but there are restrictions.

There needs to be a new system. The current one is vague and based on 30 minutes of someone observing the teacher. It doesn't allow for constructive feedback. I think a new system needs to be developed that's based on the students in some capacity. How a teacher interacts with students, how the students interact with the teacher, and student learning is critical but often ignored. I disagree with test scores being the evaluation tool....if so, I forsee many, many more CRCT cheating scandals in the future. I get way sick of bad (yes, BAD) teachers getting the same feedback as teachers wh
