  1. Go sign up to volunteer at a mental hospital or youth detention center, or better yet, apply and work there for a month. Once the kids get over you being new, and start acting "normal" again, it will take all your patience not to snap. I'm an extremely patient person, if you didn't know me, you'd probably think I'm on tranquilizers, but even I had a breaking point, which is why one day I walked out of the YDC I worked at, and never went back. Because I knew my breaking point was approaching, and that if I stayed, I'd blow up just like almost all the people I'd worked with had at one point. It
  2. [quote name='momof 3' date='23 March 2010 - 11:13 AM' timestamp='1269357206' post='3114990'] Whether I've worked with kids or not has no bearing on this. An ADULT responsible for a group of children that would condone and encourage this behavior, is not and never will be a good teacher. The kid was 5 years old. This should have been taken up with the parents and steps taken. We have a kid down the street that is the biggest jerk I've ever dealt with. He's mean, he lies, he hits and all this to my own 8 year old. Have I ever hit him. NO. Hav
  3. Yeah, mine is a situation where I left a job where I was getting few hours and no money to take a temp job that was supposed to be temp to perm, until the business decided to downsize. Luckily after after 2 months I was able to get another assignment, but it looks like this one is just temp.
  4. Have you worked with kids like this child before? I've worked in Youth Detention Centers, and with mentally ill children, and my fiancee works at a day care where they have had to ask parents not to bring back their children because of their extreme bad behavior. Trust me, when things go on with children for months on end, and the parents and administration do nothing about it, it can make you so frustrated and mad you go crazy. If you doubt it, look up the amount of incidents at Paulding RYDC of staff having to use force, and then using excessive force, on the children there. And these aren't
  5. I've been to several chinese places recently, and I think only one of them had hot tea. They seem to be cutting it out.
  6. I also have a question, not to hijack your thread. I've been working a temporary job for the past 8 weeks or so, full time, and it may end soon. Should I be able to get unemployment when the assignment ends? I've had two different people tell me different things.
  7. I'd be upset if it was my child, but if my child was repeatedly hitting kids at age 5, and the teachers had problems with him for months, I think I'd have figured out a nice way to deal with it before the teachers got so frustrated that this sort of thing happened.
  8. Someone I know had a problem with this when I was a kid. They filled their mailbox with concrete, and the kids only ever hit it one more time.
  9. Most places, they have paupers graves, which are in a corner of a cemetary, where people are buried with no headstones. Unidentified bodies usually go there too.
  10. I want the govt to pay all my bills, and give me an allowance, that way it'll be just like I'm a kid again, and I'll have no responsibility, or incentive to do anything at all. And if I overspend with my allowance, I want them to bail me out so I don't have to go without beer at the end of the month... As for funeral care, I think the govt ought to pay for everyone to have a state funeral. After all, we are all important to someone, right?
  11. Some state employee's also get their paychecks put on the cards. When I worked for the state, they made you get it on the card if you didn't do direct deposit.
  12. Alot of people who don't really need it use it, but I really don't see why you would want to. If you have the money, why not go and buy the exact stuff you want at the grocery store, instead of a randomly compiled box?
  13. My indentity has been stolen several times, due to colleges and places I applied at losing my information. I always had to fight it the hard way, in fact, one bill collector still won't take it off my report, and I've been yelling at them for like 3 years
  14. They've had more issues than just this. The founders were funnelling money from the charity as quickly as it came in, and then they paid a legislator to do some work for them, and almost immediatly after he went on the payroll he proposed a bill to allow angel food to sell food online using food stamps as payment. I don't remember all the details, but there was a large AJC writeup about it a while ago. When I say the meat is bad, I mainly mean the chicken. It's horrible. I baked one breast one time, and the sheet pan I was using was totally covered in grease at the end, and there was almos
  15. If it is Angel Food, the quality of the meats sucks. I got them for a while a few years ago, but the chicken especially was horrible. Besides, they are also have alot of legal issues atm.
  16. My dad did that once, when gravel from the back of a dump truck bounced out and smashed the whole front end of his car up. As he was following them, he called the cops, and they said if he kept following them he would get a ticket too. That was in Polk county, maybe Paulding is different.
  17. This happened to me the other day too. I was turning left onto Merchants dr (right at huddle house), and the person coming was turning, and waved for me to go. They were still like 15 feet from the road I was on, and they were going to be turning onto. So I start to go, and someone about 5 cars behind the person suddenly goes into the center lane and floors it. They had to have been going 60. They may have missed me by one inch, only because I floored it.
  18. When you google LGE, the first thing that comes up is the lockheed credit union, which I think is different from regular LGE. I told my fiancee about this card when I saw your post last night, and told her to try to open an account there, and ask about the card when she does.
  19. I don't mind drug testing, but there are a few issues with it. First, the people that just lost their job shouldn't have to pay to be drug tested. Most people don't get enough to get by from unemployment anyhow, without having to pay more fees. Also, drug tests are a joke. Their are a million ways to get around them, and drug users know it. When I worked at a GNC people would come in all the time, and head straight for the cleansers. And from what I was told after I quit there(since it's not legal to sell to people if you KNOW that's what they are using it for), it actually works.
  20. We thought maybe the amount of inquiries was an issue, but her experian report shows a score over 700... We just want them to build her credit, because we are missing out on this home buyer tax credit right now because of her lack of credit, and don't want to live in an apartment forever.
  21. We tried that, she's been with suntrust for almost two years, and they won't give her one. I have one thru bank of america, and I suggested that to her, but she went up there to open an account, and they wouldn't accept her ID (She has one of the new temporary paper ones) so she has to wait til she gets her permanent drivers license in the mail to go back to even apply for an account. What you describe is exactly how it happened with me. I had a savings account with bank of america for years, since I was a child, then I applied for a different loan, and was rejected, the next week they sen
  22. I have two things I've been trying to research for a while for my fiancee, but haven't been able to find much to help her. If anyone has any ideas on either, we greatly appreciate it. The first is about credit. She has very little credit. The only thing that shows on her report is a student loan reporting as paid and closed, though in fact she just declined the loan. She gets rejected for every card she's ever applied for, even walmart, capital one, and target. Does anyone know of a good starter card, preferably unsecured, that she can apply for? Also, is it normal to be turned down repeat
  23. Here is the way I look at it. We get EIC every year. It's around 3000 dollars, the rest of the money we get back is where we overpaid, or it's other deductions. We have NEVER been on vacation. I last went on a trip when I was in high school. We, prior to this month, never took any government assistant other than EIC and WIC (only because our child was on extremely expensive forumla). We just now had to file for food stamps, since my work is thru a temp agency, and my assignment is being ended, probably this week. We used our EIC last year to pay off back bills, since we had both been unem
