If so, they should either go ahead and demolish it, or rent it out.

If they've already denied the request, then they'll definitely get sued. I grew up like 20 mins from there, on a farm, and we had huge burn piles from storm debris at least once a month, and only ever got turned down if it was drought conditions, or it was on a day the fire dept was short staffed. They should have waited, and denied burning to everyone in the county on that day, so that it wouldn't look like they singled this guy out. -

Getting a fire permit in Florida isn't something you do that far in advance. You call the fire dept the same day, find out if it's ok to burn, and if they say yes, you give them the location and size of the fire. They base whether or not to allow you to burn based on the conditions that day. If he burns when on a day when they aren't allowing it, they'll send out an engine to put out the fire, and then bill him. If it's a day that it's ok to burn, then he'll be fine. They won't base it on politics. -

I can't get most of McCarthy's books. The Road was good, and one other one was read was ok, but the rest are very blah... and they don't make good movies without substantial changes, which so far haven't been made. -

Well put. Westboro has the right to protest, but that right has been limited somewhat. I did some research on it a while ago, and found out that in the US they have to stay 300 feet from the cemetary, and in some states it's further away, or else they get put in the slammer. -

She already said she doesn't like KKK. Just because someone doesn't like Muslims doesn't mean they are a racist. And college doesn't mean crap. I know plenty of people who have degrees that are morons. And besides, most colleges nowadays teach only what supports their agenda. Stop it Moose. You are just being a jerk now. If you disagree with the woman, that's fine, but there is no need to insult and degrade. -

I read this a few years ago, it's good. It's a bit overly hyped and dramatic, she's not actually the first to escape polygamy like they claim in the novel, but it's a good book, and provides insight into what goes on there. I didn't even know there was a book. That's one of my favorite movies, might even be my favorite. I've watched it many, many times. -

I do like post apocalyptic books, but I can't read Margaret Atwood. I've had to read some of her novels for school, and I dislike them to the point of seriously considering dropping a class due to a professor who was semi obsessed with her books, and discussed them constantly. I love I am Legend. I didn't read the book til after the movie, in fact, I'd never even heard of Matheson (they don't, or didn't) carry his books in public school. I really liked the movie, and when I like movies, I usually read the books associated with them, so I bought the collected works of Matheson. I quickly di -

The movie and book are similar, but the book is a moving and emotional experience, whereas the movie is boring, because there are only like 4 or 5 lines of dialogue. The first time I read it I wasn't a parent yet, and while I really liked the book, I didn't view it as a must read. When I reread it as a parent, the book had much more significance. -

This is Adam. Jessica almost never uses paulding.com. She gets aggravated. And she is blissfully unaware of politics. -

Read The Road, but don't watch the movie... I recently started reading the Shardlake books by C.J. Sansom, they are good, if you like period crime dramas. -
We learned to drive when we were little too, around 10 to 12, but we lived on a several hundred acre farm, and it was either pick up sticks with a wheelbarrow, and take all day(and still not get finished), or use the truck and trailer, and get it done in a few hours. My brother wrecked it up a few times, but luckily we stayed off the public roads.

They aren't picking on you because you are new. They'll continue to respond and argue as long as you respond. Once you stop giving a crap things go smoother. I had that one figured out in high school, when my answer to everything was "nuke them" but I had forgotten it til I got on this board. -
I'd rather have like 65. The oven, computer, etc will heat the house a bit.

Initially I didn't like it, but the more I think about it, it doesn't bother me. It won't do them any harm to get a dose of their own medicine for once. Of course, I don't believe in "holy" texts though. -

That's died down alot recently. And it really wasn't nearly so much about religion as it was about the British seizing land and turning it over to Scots who happened to be protestant. Seriously. I'm surprised they haven't yet. Yeah, they are real. Look up faces of death, there is a whole video series of these things going on in the middle east. There are also videos from western countries too, but they usually don't take place in the street with everyone in the village or town watching.  I advocated it then, and nearly got my butt kicked out of -
call the cops. There doesn't appear to be any other way to handle that situation.

The good thing is that in western countries, where there is freedom, many people who were members of a religion quickly lose their religion, because it is no longer compulsory. Those of you that are christian, think of how many people you know that say they are christian, or have said it, but really aren't. If the same thing happens with Islam, the joke will be on them. -
King snakes are awesome. When I was a kid the only ones I totally hated other than venomous snakes were coachwhips. They are nasty and aggressive. Don't know if they live up here, but there were tons down in florida.

My grandpa catches the ones he finds, and ends up turning them into animal control, or taking them out in the middle of the woods to release them.

Doesn't bother me. I bask in the glow of other people's stupidity. Nowadays you can't avoid being called a racist unless you completely cater to every other race. I've been called a racist for saying I don't like rap music, once I even got called a racist for describing someone as black (they were the only black person in the group). We weren't founded as a christian nation. Jefferson in particular was very wary of that, and he and Lincoln (who I have never liked) were both atheists. Neither came right out and said it, for fear of ruining their careers, but they were. This became a -
My grandparents found one in their kitchen floor before, turns out their dryer hose had a hole in it, and it crawled in the vent, and then went through the hole to get into the house.

Some of it is exaggerated, but a lot of it is accurate, you can look up the news articles. I don't have the numbers on mosques being constructed, so I can't comment on that one. Douglasville probably doesn't have enough muslims for a mosque, but it's an expansionist religion, and they are doubtless hoping for converts. Muslims don't commonly rape 6 year olds, but it has been known that in Islamic countries, older men can marry very young girls, and some have even died from the injuries sustained on their wedding nights. see above. I did see something about a group or city or someone -

You can't expect Obama to do much about Black Panthers. He's a community organizer, and associates with "former" terrorists. If Bush had hung out with people who used to be KKK leaders, you know there would have been a groundswell of support to get rid of him. I hate the double standard with race in America, it's the most ridiculous thing ever.
