It is always amazing how some parents seem to be have more knowledge of the activity then the coach, band director, teacher, etc.

I haven't heard a word about the coach at East. But as always , many people take it too seriously.

A lot of students have weekend jobs and/or weekend trips. It's just one of the sacrifices you make. As far as the practice during the fall break, the football team practices because just like the band, they have to perform on Friday night. If the county eliminated the week break, this would not be an issue.

Our family and several friends like Briar Patch mainly for the BBQ Basket. Jim and Nick's seem over-priced. I have tried a few other places but the "Patch" stands out to us. I have never eaten at Hickory Hut but do they have brisket and pork?

What about "Olive Garden"? No one has mentioned that place but I wondered how it compared to "Provino's".

I have Comcast with the maximum HD package for TV, high speed internet and land phone. Last month's bill was $249.30. In Dec. it was around $214. I started out paying around $160 a few years ago. When you first start or at certain times, you may have a "promotion" that is cheaper but it may only last six months to a year.

I have had Comcast TV, Internet and land phone for years. My only complaint is the cost which seems to go up every three to six months. I contacted a AT&T rep and in the end discovered he did not tell me the truth on the cost and contract agreement. Then I got an email from Comcast offering a better deal but when I contacted Comcast, they said they couldn't talk about it because they had been notified that AT&T was taking over my account which was not true. We use AT&T and we have had problems since last week. The AT&T people have told me they may have the problem resolved on Sunday but our 2G phones have to be up-graded to 3G or 4G to continue to get service.

That is a common practice but it can still be good. I try to get them to give me popcorn coming out of the cooker but it still taste old.

I know this is one of those "personal" opinion things. I know from years of popcorn that the popcorn tastes old and stale. I do believe it was better a few years ago. I wonder if is imported from China? Those ship rides are long.

I have noticed that at the local movie theater that the popcorn is old, stale and hard. I think it is old, stored popcorn before they pop it. Am I the only one to notice it? I thought about talking to the manager if he is there.

We did the birthday dinner at Cherokee Cattlemen Company. It was a mistake. My rib-eye was not good and poor quality meat. The ribs and chicken were so-so. The prime rib was liked by my son but it was just so-so as well. I think the french fries were microwave fries. or warmed up in a microwave. An expensive, poor quality dinner. We had an issue with water coming in from the deck door which leaked into the basement. We had a good repairman come out that said the flashing was never put on between the deck and house. He replaced some boards and put the flashing in and it worked. It did cost us some money. Now we have to figure out a way to seal the front door because there is a gap between the door and flooring.
