The Lee and Ling families thanked Obama, the secretary of state and the State Department. "We especially want to thank President Bill Clinton for taking on such an arduous mission and Vice President Al Gore for his tireless efforts to bring Laura and Euna home," it said. "We are counting the seconds to hold Laura and Euna in our arms." From what this says credit is due to many and I think it is a wonderful thing that they did and a great day for the families.

Thanks for the info. I have already tried calling Samsung and their closest repair person is in FLORIDA!!! I don't think I will be taking it there. I am looking for someone local.

I have a Samsung flat panel TV that I paid 1300.00 for a year and a half ago. Now it has decided to stop working, of course after the warranty has run out. I have bought a new TV but I don not want to just throw the old one out without finding out how much it would cost to repair it. Do you know anyone, other than Best Buy who works on these TV's? Best Buy wants 150.00 just to look at it and tell me what is wrong.

That is nothing to be proud of. Being a human I don't see how someone with a conscience could do that. There are so many things that I want to say but I am going to leave it at that. -
When my son worked at Kroger one of his duties was to clean the bathrooms. He always said that the ladies' rooms was WAY worse to clean than the men's room. He said they tend to not flush, use trash cans, and personal waste receptacles! YUCK! That is all I have to say. I carry hand sanitizer in my purse because I don't even like to touch the faucets in those places!

fishnthec replied to gtfamily's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I haven't been, but I am excited to go after I get back from Savannah. I love Kohl's but it is going to be great to have another option in Hiram! -
Shuck it..DO NOT WASH IT..put it in freezer bags and freeze it. When you take it out of the freezer, wash it and cook it on the cob or cut it off. Taastes just like fresh corn!!! It is so easy, but you really do not want to get it wet before you freeze it.

Maybe I should give that as a "secret pal" gift to a couple of kids I know. LOL

No , honestly I need translator for the whole thing.

Are you saying I should tip the driver 150.00-200.00? I think that is a little bit high since the entire ride is only about $100.00. I was thinking more like 20 bucks. I don't want to sound cheap but that seams a little crazy to me.

How much should we tip our horse drawn carriage driver? It is a private ghost tour. It should last a little more than an hour. Whatcha think?

Very sad, I agree that she had some mental issues though. -
I hate the he felt the need to take someone else with him, especially his 12 year old autistic grandson. I always wonder what happens ina persons brain to make them do something like this. How sad.

OH NO!!! Say this isn't so!

That's a big one! I love gators! I lived on the gulf coast long enough to learn to enjoy them...from a distance!

You are very smart! I didn't even think of that. I am quite sure we can manage 3/10th of a mile . I am glad to know that our hotel is in such a fine location.

Is it close enough to walk to Lady and Son's?

We are staying at the Staybridge Suites On the corner of Lincoln and Bay Streets. It is actually on Bay Street though which runs parallel to River Street. I had a few to choose from with the plan that I went with through the travel agent but I liked the look of this one. It is an old brick historic looking building. You can see their web site at www.staybridge.com/sav-historic check it out and tell me if we are close enough to walk around or if we will need to drive please. And thanks EVERYONE for all of your help.

OMG that was too cute!!!

Thanks for the advice. It sounds like lots of fun. I know I will never see all I want in 4 days. As far as the parking, we will most likely stay parked at the hotel which is just oone road over from River Street in the Historic District. On the map it looks like we can anyway. We will have todrive to Lady and Son's though and the carriage ride is right by that restaurant so that one night is the only night that we technically HAVE to drive. I do want to drive to look at the beach though and possible Tybee Island.

I have to rent that movie this weekend!! You are about the 5th person who has told me that I need to watch it before I go to Savannah.
-
I hope our ghost tour is better than that. We have reservations for a private horse drawn carriage to take us on a ghost tour, supposedly of local graveyards and such. If the tour guide sucks at least maybe the carriage ride will be fun, since it will be my first horse drawn carriage ride as well!
-
Cool...I am really looking forward to our ghost tour so I think that might be fun as well. I just googled River Street and found that the Saturday that we are going to be there they are having a big arts and crafts fair on River Street. That sounds like fun to me. The hubby will probably not be as excited but I am sure he will go along and pretend to enjoy himself.

I keep hearing, "on the river"...is there a shopping strip on the river?
