  1. My niece is in Georgia. That was about 5 years ago.
  2. I think if it is ran in the paper for so long, he does not have to sign. But, don't trust me on that one. I've been married forever and a day, but I think my niece did that. Ask a lawyer.
  3. The leash is a safety measure if used correctly. This woman dragged her child through an entire store (carpet burns?) and then apparently continued to the car (concrete? pavement?). Yep, she crossed the line. And probably does much more when no one else is around. If she can't control her anger around others in public, imagine how quickly she snaps at home alone.
  4. My husband, my son, and my FIL love the place. There are even pictures of my husband's grandfather, including one with his ox, on the wall. I call it the Redneck Hooter's. I consider the food mediocre at best. Nothing extraordinary to me. I do have to say that it used to be really good way, way back in the day. Even before Doug ran it.
  5. I tend to freeze everyone out. I can't stand being hot in my own house! I love it to be cold. Maybe I am just trying to preserve myself. My husband has extra blankets on his side of the bed, and I kick off the sheets. LOL! Maybe I need to get a hormone check.
  6. You can order them online. I have done that for myself when I misplaced mine. I received it quickly. http://www.vitalchek.com/express-birth-certificates.aspx
  7. No. The accident happened right at WC Abney.
  8. I am sorry for your loss. And I am so glad you had a peaceful day with your mother. You were all given a gift of peace at the end. A good memory for you to end this episode of your life. I wish the best for all of you, and I will pray for continued healing for your family during this time.
  9. I do believe in pay it forward. I do random things all the time. I don't do it for any particular reason. I just enjoy knowing some little action on my part brightened up someone else's day. I like to think what goes around comes around.
  10. "Y'all" is plural by itself. "All y'all" would indicate no one of those involved were being excluded. Such as, inviting someone to a party. "Y'all are invited to the party!" "All of us?" "Sure. All y'all should come." Meaning you are inviting more than just a few. Think parents are invited to a party. By adding the "All y'all", you may be meaning the children are welcome as well. Or if you bump into a couple you know while they are out with some friends and invite them to the party, you are indicating the friends are invited too. O'Brian and O'Connell . . . Doesn't that m
  11. We have a cabin up in Murphy, NC. Not too far from there. I think my inlaws are up there. I wonder if they felt it.
  12. I hate to admit it. I tried to save a cat on I-75 right past Windy Hill Road. I stayed against the wall in the median, but it was scary as heck! My daughter came to help me, and Mommy-mode kicked in. She was 18 at the time, but it was still my baby on the side of the interstate at the fast lane. I realized she was at risk and I was not going to save the cat. I was more likely to scare into running into traffic by trying to catch it. I went back to the car and left it there. I will say, a few people stopped to see if I needed help. After I thought about what I did, I wondered that mysel
  13. Has anyone heard if it were cars, trucks, SUVs, etc.? That might help ease some concerns. I know my husband was heading out that way, but if I call him, he is going to be aggravated with me for interrupting his meeting if he has already passed it.
  14. Log in information implies they asked for her sign-in and password. That is where the line was crossed to me. I think the parents should have that access, but not the school. If she were doing things she shouldn't have been doing, then the school should have addressed that in the manner in which it applies to them, but not information they gleaned from using someone's password. That is a parental issue, or law enforcement if she is breaking laws.
  15. Just remember it is a plural. I hate it when someone TRIES to sound southern and says "Y'all" (note I spelled it that way even if I don't - or is that d'not - like it) when talking about one person. Example: Girl to boy, "Oh, sweetie! Y'all just knew I loved roses!"
  16. I came home to a haze filling my house once. They had a baby powder fight! Do you know that baby powder does not come out of log walls? UGH! And that was 5 years ago.
  17. Lots of families may agree initially, but the person coming here may not want to stay with the family, or the family may become disenchanted with Uncle Harry when his schizophrenic delusions and paranoia become too much to handle. I wish it would work, but I have seen the families walk away because they just can't handle it after they thought it wouldn't be that bad. Some may settle into a home. Sadly, most will end up back on the streets.
  18. Right now, the website is down. Once we get it going, I will post it. I definitely want people to see it when we get it right. We have cut the power sometimes, but people usually don't want the power cut due to appliances and clocks. A couple of times, we have been able to explain the feelings people have been having by discovering a short in a wire creating high EMFs. They just unplug the problem item and the 'ghost' goes away.
  19. Greyhound therapy! Some mental hospitals do the same thing. And up in Rome, GA, they have been overrun with homeless people because they have a regional mental hospital. All over the state, mental patients are shipped in to the facility. When they are released, no one comes to pick them up. They are usually dropped at the local homeless shelter and they end up living in the Rome area forever. Many cities will give homeless people one way bus tickets to any destination just to clear out their own city. Not a nice thing, but really common. And Georgia is just as guilty of it.
  20. Keeping you in my prayers.
