  1. Just making the point that some don't want people who break the law to suffer the consequences and that their wish is coming true, more and more. Block a major interstate and go free. Break into a country, go free. Burn a town down, loot the place, go free. Incite a riot, go free. Defend yourself from a criminal who is trying to kill you, get your life destroyed. It's an upside down world...some would say a madhouse.
  2. Let's not forget Chinese, they are the leading producer of Chinese in the world.
  3. Other days, you just want to.....DANCE!
  4. Other days you just need to curl up with your friend.
  5. Some people are saying that if you break the law, nothing should happen to you. Those people should be happy. Apparently we are becoming a nation of laws, but not a nation of consequences if you break those law. Example #.....I've lost count of the number. At the end of this video, a law abiding citizen, who was trying to bet to his job and be a productive member of society says, "You are going to jail."......boy was he wrong.
  6. What the heck, it's been a few days since we had a picture of the girls.
  7. Try and buy a trailer tire or lawn & garden tire that is made in the USA. Heck, most aluminum wheels for both cars and trailers are made overseas.
  8. From my original post: "(this is not to retry the Brown case, but was rather an opportunity to try and teach my son that usually common sense and logic can help you know what is true and what is not true)"
  9. Like I mentioned before, the lines of communication between Kate and I are now open. Last night she told me I was awesome.....well, the word awesome was used. Here is her twit to me: Kate Micucci ‏@katemicucci 11h11 hours ago @stradial That's so awesome! 8:56 PM - 2 Dec 2014 · I told the wife this morning that she had better watch her P&Qs and her step. She did not seem properly worried.
  10. You are entitled to your opinion. I also suggest you learn more about how a grand jury operates.
  11. I am happy for you Tech fans, you need a pick me up every 5 yrs or so.
  12. If you want to read a fairly interesting book about not buying things made in China, try this book, A Year Without Made in China. It is the true story of a housewife who decides that for a year, she will not buy anything made in China or anything that is composed of something made in China. I think it was published around the mid 2000's. I found it an interesting story.
  13. I don't know that my son changed his mind about whether Officer Wilson should have been indicted. He never said and I never asked. My point was not to try and change my son's opinion on the Ferguson case, it was to try and show him to think for himself, using logic and common sense (which is not very common) and to investigate for himself the facts.
  14. Believe what you want to. May I suggest that you study the subject for 40 years and then come back to talk with me. In the 1960's, during the height of the cold war, it was Russia and Cuba who was behind the killing JFK. In the 1970's, during Watergate, it was some US intelligence agency or a rogue group of people from some US intelligence agency who behind the killing of JFK. In the 1980's, after the Godfather movies, it was the Mafia who was behind the killing of JFK. In the 1990's, after Oliver Stone's completely bullcrap movie, it was the military industrial complex and a rogue group
  15. "Good story but it would be better if you cited your sources. Not that I don't trust you but I may not trust your sources." I guess you missed the title of the thread, "My son and I have a talk.", not "I am having a debate over something that is public record." As far as sources, the legal system considers testimony made under oath to be the best source, so check the grand jury testimony, you know, the grand jury that found no reason to indict Officer Wilson. If he called for backup as you say, why didn't he wait for back up to arrive? If you are afraid of someone wouldn't you avo
  16. It is my understanding that he did download magic jack and called his mother. He actually called her twice or texted her twice, because the first time they missed him when they searched the house. This is a bad bad deal. Father, stepmother, step kids are all bad news.
  17. 51 items? I never gave 51 presents in 5 yrs of Christmas's. You get one gift and if you complain, the next year you get a card, complain again and you don't even get the card. Bah Humbug!
  18. Nooo, it wasn't about the birds and the bees, it was about the Ferguson deal, but mostly it was about trying to teach my son to think for himself. We started on the Ferguson thing and my son was, like a lot of younger people, saying that he didn't understand how they failed to indict the officer and that Brown had his hands up when he was shot and that Brown was unarmed and the rest of the stuff. I told me son that while there are some people who are so racists that they would kill a black person just to kill them and that there are probably some of those type of people in LE, but that it
  19. This truly is a time of Thanksgiving. First a long time friend offers to share all her leftovers with me, and trust me, the list of leftovers is long and good! Then another friend calls me and asks me to stop by tonight while I was out and about. He had me a half a turkey that he has just deep fried. Mmmmm GOOD! I was so appreciative of my buddy's gesture that I made let him watch three Garfunkel & Oates videos on my new smart phone. I decided not to divorce the wife after all......at this point, I'm not sure I actually own anything anymore and besides, she means well. (actually wha
