  1. Hey Beachbum, guess where we is. LOL I'm guessing it isn't grammar class.
  2. Back when someone hurt themselves or worse doing something stupid and the people just said, "You acted like a fool, tough." or "They acted like a fool and that's what happens when you act like an fool." Now the person acting like a fool sues whoever they can and screws stuff up for people who don't act like a fool. Acting the fool is nothing new, giving fools the ability and right to blame others for them acting the fool is new. Back in the good old days, they just told it like it was, don't be a fool or suffer the consequences. A sign in Yosemite National Park in 1915.
  3. Really? You're telling me? That reminds me of when the "2nd John Dillinger gang" was robbing a bank. One of the ladies working on the 2nd floor managed to get to a 2nd story window over looking the alley behind the bank, she looked out the window and saw a man standing in the alley. As loud as she dared, she whispered, "The bank is being robbed! Get help!" The man, Homer Van Meter, looked up and said, "Lady, you're telling me?", while at the same time brandishing his tommy gun. That reminds me of another story about the "2nd John Dillinger gang". In this robbery Lester "Ba
  4. If I were Tech or GA, and I get the ball inside my opponent's 2 yard line, I would just go ahead and kick a fieldgoal. I wouldn't even try for a touchdown.
  5. You wouldn't have noticed the antennas any more than you would have noticed houses with a screen porch. Both were just there, nothing to notice or think anything about at that time.
  6. This used to be a question on the drivers test, if it isn't still on the test, it should be. I bet they no longer have to know hand signals either. Who knows these? (besides us old people) Arm out the driver's window with arm bent at the elbow, downward on a 90* angle. Arm straight out the driver's window, parallel to the ground. Arm out the driver's window with arm bent at the elbow, upward on a 90* angle.
  7. I was watching a movie made in the past 15 yrs and it was set in the 1950's. They showed homes in CA in several subdivisions and one thing caught my eye, no TV antennas on the roofs of the houses. In the 1950's there would have been many houses with roof top antennas. I guess the people that make the movies now days are just so young that they have no idea what it was like to drive along and see house after house with a big ole antenna sticking up on almost every roof.
  8. I agree 1,000% and the reason is, right or left, it doesn't matter any longer. they are all commentators these days, not reporters. They are all pushing an agenda and that agenda is ratings, money and fame. Occasionally that agenda happens to actually fall along the lines of whatever bullcrap they are spouting, but rest assured, the agenda is ratings, money and fame, not reporting the news.
  9. Answer: Yes he should. Reason why: "Freedom of speech" does not cover him, same reason that you cannot yell "fire" in a crowded theater. Question: Have people been arrested for saying things that caused damage or injury to others? Answer: Yes they have and they have been successfully prosecuted and found guilty. Question: Will he be arrested for this? Answer: No. Question: Why not, property was destroyed, peoples lives (i.e. police, firefighters, medical people, average citizens) were put in danger, with many being injured and I think one killed? Answer: Two reasons. One, he is black. T
  10. Here is how Jeanne Robertson, from Graham, NC, and her husband handled the bat in their house. Funny funny lady. (she calls her husband "left brain" because he is a left brain person)
  11. Wellll, now we know who to call to get any bats out of our houses. Good job!
  12. We took the grandkids to see the penguin movie tonight at the theaters in Hiram. Now I am not a big movie going person, mainly because I have no desire to see any of the trash they call movies these days. But I usually can enjoy a kids movie, so off to the movies the wife and I go with the two grandkids. I cannot believe how much it cost two adults and two kids to see this freaking movie! It was $92 dollars for: 2 adult tickets 2 kid tickets 2 popcorns 2 large sodas 2 small Icees The wife suggested that we get the bucket o' popcorn as we can bring our bucket back and they give
  13. As aTech grad,... Some people brag on their shortcomings, others try to overcome them.
  14. I am headed over to momma's tomorrow to get my own leftovers. I ate two turkey sandwiches today trying to get her off my back, I think she has meanopause, cause she sure has been mean today. I would have already sent them their disown papers.
  15. I can't exactly put it in words, but something here in this picture from the 1950's, just ain't right.
