Understood. I have a few things that I watch or listen to and that make me nuts, the wife always wants to know; why do you (watch or listen) when you know it will get you mad? I was hoping to use your explination as I do not have a good one.

First, I know a lot of people have had issues with the VA. But they were great with and for my dad, atarting back in the late 70's and through the 80's. My mom did have to make sure and keep track of all the paperwork and who he was seeing when and why, but as far as care went, they did an excellent job. Several major surgeries and a lot of other stuff. They were there a couple of times a week for several years.

I know that different ammo makes a difference, that is why I asked. While I chose to use the cheaper ammo when out just "playing around" shooting. I have always shot the ammo that I will have in that gun when carrying it. Not only does it affect where point of impact, though that is not my biggest concern, some semi-auto pistols do not operate as well with certain types of ammo. Also, there is a big difference in firing the ammunition that I carry for protection than what I would buy just to shoot for fun. I do not know the answer to this question, that is why it is a question. Would they use hollow points for target practice? Wouldn't wad cutters or a ball ammo be better for target practice. But maybe they want to use the same ammo for practice as they would use when on duty. I know that I do most of my target practice with solid bullets and save the hollow points for "the real world", but I do practice with some of the ammo that I will be carrying in the gun, just to make sure I have a good feel for how that ammo shoots.
