I have no idea about the Raider's booster club, but the Paulding High Band Boosters is a registered non-profit organization and it has bylaws that they have to go by. I would think that the Raider's are set up similarly, a good lawyer is the one to be working on what is the best way to handle this. (just my opinion) Maybe a light bulb did go off, someone profited or at least thought they would profit.
