I was about to say John Denver. I am his #1 fan. I can't listen to The Eagle & The Hawk Or Wild Montana skies without shedding a tear or two. Those songs bring me right back to the early 80's singing & dancing in my living room. I don't have a huge amount of happy carefree memories from my childhood, but that was one that I will always love. I tend to always associate songs with life events and memories also. The Verve Pipe "freshman" always makes me cry because it was popular on the radio at the same time I was 19, pregnant and terrified. when I hear it it brings me back.

Thank you so much for this post. I have been bothered all day by this thread. I just can't understand comparing deaths or life, or who "deserves" what after their death. Where is the compassion for a life lost? It's disturbing to me, the lack of sympathy.

So, is this like when a person cheats on his or her spouse because he or she is being accused of it, so they figure they may as well go ahead & do it?

NO CRYING KIDS ALLOWED IN ATLANTA RESTAURANT
jennilyn77 replied to lowrider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I think the real problem is lazy parenting. Plain & simple. SO many parents will threaten and threaten but never actually follow through on threats or punishments, I see it all the time with ceartin people I know. And i'm sure on the way home from the resturant, the same little angels who just finished running amuck and ruining dinners are treated to a dvd in the back seat, instead of having to listen to a lecture on how to act properly in a resturant. Easy peasy! -
I do too, and I agree with you 100%. VERY well said!!

dosen't bother me. I remember when my dog died, a "friend" of mine thought I was being too dramatic in how upset I was, My thought was, How can someone tell someone else how upset they should or should not be over a death? I don't get it.

Oh, I do. I find it very annoying. -
I don't have a Kindle(bitter). I asked for one for v-day but instead got candy that i've never liked. One of these days i'll join the rest of civilization, I just know it! I'm reading "Fast Women" by Jennifer Cruise. It's a mystery/romance, I hate it and can't wait to be finished. 20 more pages.

Same here. Good post.

and you got +3 for that. Sad. I can't imagine having enough darkness in my heart to feel that way about someone simply because their politics differ from my own. Tis a scary world indeed.

If my child stands around to watch a fight, and that is against the rules, that's my childs fault. Even back in my day, kids got in trouble for watching a fight. With all the BS teachers & admin. have to deal with these days I don't blame them for having a zero tolerance approach, as a matter of fact, I hope for it. Get rid of the distractions, PLEASE!
