  1. Playing devils advocate, maybe the brothers didn't know. This sicko had many others fooled. Honest, I was thinking to myself earlier today, how can three brothers from the same family all be that sick? It takes a really disturbed SOB to carry out something like this for 10+ years. There is a whole lot we still don't know. I do think it's weird that they have been cleared so quickly.
  2. Look, I think it is a really nice gesture. I don't have very much experience with funerals, thankfully. When my daughter's grandfather died in 2005 of cancer at the age of 57, I thought it was absolutely wonderful and it brought tears to my eyes to see people pulling over to show their respect. The guy did three tours in Vietnam, he deserved it, no doubt. Saying no ma'am, yes ma'am, thank you, opening the doors for elders is not a regional thing. That's the part of this whole conversation I have a problem with. I was always taught not to believe stereotypes, and not to make assumptions about p
  3. Holy crap! Thank you!!!!!!!!!! Almost my whole entire family is originally from the north, we all have very good manners and are very caring and respectful people.
  4. Can someone point me in the direction of the thread where this subject was discussed by adults? i would like to read it but can't seem to find it. Crazy me, I'm actually more concerned about women being raped in the military than I am about correct usage of the word rampant.
  5. I agree, when he told the 911 operator to put himself in the girls shoes, that sealed the deal. I knew he was a good guy.
  6. I didn't see it in another topic. Sorry, I can't keep up. I actually have a life to live. My daughter is in the AFJROTC at East Paulding. She really likes it, and I know she wants to have a career in space exploration of some sort. Should she look into joining the Air Force one day, this is something I would be very concerned about. The more discussion, the better. IMO.
  7. I would say more and more that kids aren't being born with a clean slate. Have you checked out the rise in autism rates lately? Sensory disorder? ADHD? If your kids were born with a clean slate, be thankful. Be very, very thankful. It is true that many kids are a product of their environment and their parents, no doubt. But when you see my son having a meltdown in the middle of publix, please don't assume it's from a lack of parenting. I assure you it's not. If I lost my temper every time I felt the need to, I would never get it back. In some situations it's a whole lot easier to get angry tha
  8. I was thinking the same thing, even in the article it says that his kids had urged him to quit because of the violence. I don't get it. Soccer makes me sleepy, not angry.
  9. I lived in the same house in Powder Springs for 16 years and I had 2 completely different addresses within that time. We lived on the corner of Hiram lithia Springs and another road. At first our address was Hiram Lithia Springs Road, then they changed it to the name of the other road because that's where our mailbox was located. Makes sense I suppose. I realize this isn't 100% on topic but it I had forgotten I had two different addresses in the same house and I felt like sharing.
  10. This. It's the same way in NY.
  11. I'm looking forward to the day that my kids provide food instead of stress. Hope you feel better soon!
  12. It's funny you say that. My Polish grandma LOVED Martha. I think the Polish connection had something to do with that. This thread has me thinking about and missing her. She (my grandma) was one of the most creative women ever. At every holiday gathering she always had the most creative and cute tablesettings complete with a name card for everyone. She would set up scavenger hunts on Easter where each egg found had a gift next to it along with another clue to where the next egg/gift could be found. She made rooms and furniture for my Barbies using cardboard and fabric, I still have some of it.
  13. Agreed. I've always been a fan of Martha. A funny-
  14. What a waste. Throw her ass in jail and give the spot at Betty Ford to someone who actually wants it and will use it to better themselves. I give her another year, tops.
  15. And if you're looking to buy some paint, forget about it. I have bought paint from them several times, every single time I have had to seek someone out to help me. After standing around for what seems like forever. Also, we bought a new washer and dryer there several months ago. The girl that we eventually found that was able to help us seemed like she was really doing a favor and not her job. I think we were inconveniencing her. Ugh. I'm pretty sure we will never go back.
  16. Nice. I'm sure BL appreciates the hate spew in her National Day of prayer thread.
  17. How did you know they were about to mate? Was one of them wearing lingerie? Seriously though, how did you know? I purposely don't know anything about snakes. Sorry for the hijack and happy walking!
  18. My daughter and I call them denim panties. Thank God she has no desire to wear them. Not that I would ever allow it.
  19. This. Except I full on cried. I am so sorry for your loss DB. I'm sorry for everyone who feels lonely, I can certainly relate. I think monkeytail and I could be twins.
  20. NEVER! I've never had a pedicure, I can't stand to have my feet touched. I give them to myself when I have time. I just rarely have time. I do make sure my nails are trimmed and painted at all times though so it's not THAT bad. not that good either.
  21. Add me to the list of peeps with gross feet and flip flops. Other than that, I always dress pretty normally. I do have a thing for T-shirts with sayings or pop culture references. I'm constantly getting compliments on my Goonies T-shirt.
  22. I know. If it makes you feel any better, I just saved a frog about 10 minutes ago. It was in my dogs water bowl. She was about to eat it.
