  1. You don't cut a baby's hair until they are a year old. For some reason, a baby is supposed to fall of the bed before it's a year old? For the wart thing, Kyle Mitchell (any old Hiram folks will know who I am taking about!) used to conjur warts away. Have seen it happen!
  2. Just got word today at work that Amazon has lowered it's free shipping amount back to $35 ($25 for textbooks). I knew it was just a matter of time!
  3. My desktop got a virus a couple years back and I took it to Dallas Computer Sales and Service (on Dallas Acworth Hwy). He was great--did a rush job for me because I had to have it to work from home. After that I installed Malware Bytes ($25 a yr) and have had no problems at all since. He is a good honest guy and I would definitely use him again!
  4. I dropped my Uverse cable almost 2 years ago. Bought 3 Roku's and 3 digital antennas off Amazon for what a month of cable was costing. Now pay around $24 a month for Netflix and Hulu. Haven't regretted at all.
  5. Wouldn't surprise me if they changed it at all. Things change daily in all departments at Amazon!
  6. Amazon changed their free shipping amount a while back. It is now a minimum of $49 (unless it is qualifying books--usually textbooks). And the items must be marked with "Free Shipping" to qualify.
  7. I have used Walmart home delivery several times. I hate going to Walmart and just being able to have your laundry detergent, fabric softener, toilet paper, etc. dropped at your door is amazing! I have also used the store pick up on Dallas Hwy and it was nice too. I will definitely take advantage of the free 2 day shipping now. Even though I work for Amazon and get a discount--prices are still cheaper on cleaning supplies at Walmart and Amazon doesn't carry some of the things I am used to using.
  8. Sprouts is the main grocery store that Amazon uses for their Prime Now orders. Now I just wonder how long it will take them to start the grocery orders in that area and just how far they will go?? Even though I am in Logistics for their drivers, they don't tell us things like that! Just have to find out by doing my job!
  9. Funny, because I have been with Geico for 25+ years and mine actually has gone down. Same coverage and even had a totaled vehicle claim less than 2 years ago. I have priced other companies just about every time mine comes up for renewal and nobody can come close.
  10. I live right on Hiram Sudie Road--so we have sirens all the time. I hear motorcycles flying down the road at all times of the night--just a fact of living on one of the busiest roads in the county. Even if I am asleep--they wake me up when they go by. For something like this--I am sure there were numerous sirens.
  11. It is a very good show, but can be confusing!! Sometimes I have to watch it a second time to get it, with all the back and forth it does. It and Lethal Weapon are my 2 favorites!
  12. If you live in the area--did you not hear any sirens? Did you not hear the commotion? I am sure that all the emergency vehicles would have certainly made a lot of noise and probably had roads shut down at one point. Even if it is a distance away, surely you would have heard the sirens? The reports say this happened on January 20th--yesterday??
  13. Yes, it is very easy to Bankrupt one company and turn around and open another one. Just a matter of paperwork. Once that company is dissolved with the Secretary of State's office (with or without a Bankruptcy)--that company no longer exists, as far as the law in concerned, so there is nothing or nobody to go after. Even if the owner of the company personally guarantees a debt--all they have to do is file a personal Bankruptcy and they are also off the hook. I have seen this go down many, many times in my former career as a Bankruptcy Paralegal.

  15. I know it was still shut down around 6:00 this morning. Not sure about now. Son had to go around the world to get to work this morning. He said it was closed at McClung.
  16. But it still erks me to get behind somebody with 2 carts of groceries (filled to the brim with steaks, roasts, 6-12 packs of Cokes, and all the snack stuff known to man), carrying a Coach purse, I phone in hand and more jewelry on them than I have ever owned. Then you see them in the parking lot loading into a $40K + vehicle and you are struggling to buy ground beef and bare necessities. Just go to Food Depot and watch! I know that some folks need help. Heck, I did for a few months in my 20's (when I was in process of a divorce with 3 small children and no child support), but some folk
  17. That is in the Williams Lake Road/Pine Valley Road area, hence the Powder Springs address they were giving.
  18. Mostly sleet here. I went out with the dogs about 8:30, folks were barely creeping on Hiram Sudie. And then here comes some idiot on a 4 wheeler.
  19. I still have U Verse internet and I have a plain old telephone line just for work (I work from home). I still have a home phone but it is only $10 a month with TMobile. Works just like a regular phone, just $10 on my cell bill.
  20. You can get an HD Antenna for less than $20 that picks up all the local stations for free. I bought antennas and Roku's for 3 TV's for a little over $100, dropped cable and now pay less than $25 a month for NetFlix and Hulu. Haven't missed that $150 a month cable at all!!
  21. Please tell me they have a turning light for the folks on 61??? Mornings are pretty congested there when taking grandson to school and without a turning light--we might just have to change our route.
  22. Marietta Eye Clinic in Hiram. Went there for the first time in a very long time and I was very pleased.
  23. Yes, Amazon will ask you if you have checked with your neighbors because they do often deliver to the wrong house. And they will also advise you to look behind bushes, flower pots, etc in hopes that the driver attempted to hide the package. Just really commons sense, but doesn't stop a thief.
  24. I work for Amazon, in their Logistics department, helping their Amazon Logistics drivers deliver packages. Although this service is not available in Paulding, it does go to Powder Springs and Douglasville. When a driver scans a package delivered, it gives a geo code that we can go by. All we get is an aerial map with little pinpoints that show where the package was delivered. Some drivers will actually take a picture of where they are leaving the packages, but mostly in apartment complexes. Believe me, when working with a company as big as Amazon--missing or stolen packages are a numerous time
  25. If it was purchased from Amazon--they will make it good (as long as it was shipped by Amazon).
