Things suck already and it might be what is causing the exodus. If they have put a strain on the system, it might improve things. And at least traffic might be better.

This is amazing. She probably didn't get a spanking when she was a kid. You haven't seen the Tom-Tom GPS glasses that give you step by step directions?? "Turn right in 5 steps".

Oh.. wow... did I say any adult? Because I am sure I didn't say any adult. Also, last time I checked we were talking about this situation.. the one from the lake and a friend of the family, not a lifeguard. Maybe the topic changed and I didn't see it. Or maybe it was changed to support a point and I just now noticed.

I had the honor of visiting Arlington National Cemetary and witnessing the changing of the guard a few years back. They are there through all kinds of weather and at the time I went, I think they had only been pulled off duty twice for hazardous conditions.

I would take that bet. Just based on the one-sided partial view we have of the incident... even if it is entirely true it wouldn't hold up.

The "Not My Kid" rule that I was referring to is the one where parents are under the false impression that their kids can do no wrong. I bet there are more than a few who are intimately familiar with this.

Of course, if the 18yo had been brought up right.. maybe even spanked when he needed it... there might not even be a situation in the first place. And a friend of the family is not the same as Joe Schmoe coming from down the way, to swoop in and spank then run away.

That's cool. Most of the time I'd rather have cartoon company.

Did you ever notice that your friends names are like joke names? I'm not sure if you should tell them, you might hurt their feelings.

I agree with this post 100% I also have to wonder about all the posts that have such a problem with the spanking. One thing seems to be obvious these days and it's that we have a lot more brats running around now the we did back in the day. Part of the reason is that there are no real consequences for their actions. Another part is the parents who live by the "Not My Kid" rule.. which is BS. And another part is that parents don't handle it... and don't want anyone else to handle it. And that's too bad. The brats of today will turn in to the rejected a-holes of tomor

I know this may come as a surprise to some, but there was a time when parents looked after their kids... and their neighbors kids... and it was reciprocal. And this tool might have helped them, for all we know.

Great post! This is what today is all about. Not cook-outs or lounging by the pool or getting some new sheets on sale... It is supposed to be about taking time out of our busy lives and paying respect for those that gave theirs. I am truly thankful for their sacrifice.

It's is a tool that people once used to drag kids around by the ears. Poor people had to use their hands... oh, the humanity!

I can watch benny.. or I can watch joon. But I cannot stand having to watch them together. My hat's off to you (if I had one on) because you have more patience than me. It would be stupid if I had a hat on right now, as I'm sitting inside.. relaxing. What an idiot. Wearing a hat inside.
