Just so everyone knows......There is a bus assigned to the subdivision, however, the students CHOOSE to walk instead of riding the bus.

Over 30 cars had tires slashed in Paulding
hotwheels replied to AustinPlantation's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Oh gosh! I noticed in Millhouse Plantation on Morris Rd. this afternoon that there was a car with two flat tires on the driver's side and a horse trailer w/2 flat tire on the street side also. I couldn't see the tires on the other sides of the vehicles but judged from the way the cars were sitting, level, that the tires on the other side were flat too. Both vehicles were parked on the street though and not in driveways. Wonder if this has any bearing on things? -
Anybody have some good suggestions/ideas for stocking stuffers for a 14 year old boy? I'm looking for unique, something cool, but not expected ideas. He's not asking for much this year, a few video games and a renewal on his Sports Illustrated subscription. That was a stocking stuffer last year.

I sent my son on to school @ Hiram today. I saw on 11 o'clock news last night that students were urged to report to school at Kell today in spite of the threat.

UPDATE: FOUND: RIP AAC member KEITH BURNS
hotwheels replied to kerstinamber's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I just happened to notice that in the pictures from the day his truck was parked at LMP, there was a car that came in afterwards about 10:40 a.m. Looks like a Honda, maybe champagne colored, grey or gold, that parked facing the tennis courts. It also looks like that same car is parked there again in the same parking space as before in the pictures where the police are towing the truck. I wonder if it is the same car? Maybe that driver saw or noticed something on the morning the truck was left? If it is someone who frequents the park on a regular basis. -

UPDATE: FOUND: RIP AAC member KEITH BURNS

I know his truck was found at LMP back by the tennis courts. It appears to me to be facing a wooded area. I drove a field trip there once last spring and while waiting on my bus, parked back there, I saw people walking down from the parking area, like on front of his truck, where it is parked. They would go down and cross a creek and then hike up a trail leading up to the top of that high hill. The area there where the trail was was pretty open. I also people coming from over the hill, down toward that parking lot. Made me wonder what was over that hill. When I saw the pics of his truck -

Almost makes me wonder why they even bother to have the dang cameras there in the 1st place. They are not even very close to the parking area. Can't see license plates on other vehcles that arrived to question the owners/drivers if they saw anything. Where was the site at in Hiram where he was supposed to be at to work that morning? Is it unusual that he didn't have his cell phone w/him? -

I'm having trouble accessing FB through the link on here. There have been meteor showers for the past week, at their best for viewing around 4 a.m. Is the park open at that time? I wonder if he stopped there to hike to a high point for a good view of the showers before he planned to go to the work site in Hiram? Do the video cameras from the park show anyone exiting the truck? -
So sad!

This is the nicest post I've seen lately. I believe you have answered your own question though. Start at home, Sunday School/Church and your children's school(s). Call the school and speak with the counselor or send a note in a sealed envelope to your child's teacher asking them to call you. I'm sure they can suggest ways to help. I know the schools have been collecting "Pennies for Paulding" if it has not ended yet. I have children with baggies of pennies getting on my bus when this drive is going on. There was also a recent food drive in the schools. Perhaps you could find out the

Don't Forget To Go Vote In The Run off Nov. 30th
hotwheels replied to NewsJunky's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Thanks, this does help. I may see what I can find out so that I can be informed and vote in the runoff. I do realize how important the judges positions are which is why I didn't vote at all on these seats in the general. I thought it better to let the informed voters vote than cancel out their vote. I wish sample ballots were made available throughout the county well in advance of elections, maybe just at local libraries or parks, so that people could pick one up to take home and be better prepared when they actually go to vote. -
Don't Forget To Go Vote In The Run off Nov. 30th

Sorry to say I won't be voting in the runoff. Didn't vote for these in the general election. Since I had never heard of any of them, I skipped them on my ballot. I'd rather not vote at all than help elect the "wrong" person. -
My favorite place is Fuji Sushi in the KMart shopping center. And I absolutely LOVE their "love" roll. It is my all time favorite and this is one of my favorite places to treat myself to when eating out. I do not care for the raw fishes. I have tried them but am not big on fishy taste and I still love sushi. Those who just turn up their nose without trying something don't know what they're missing.

looking for walking track in the hiram sudie area.
hotwheels replied to RAD's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I'm not sure which end of Hiram Sudie you're on but the Ben Hill Strickland Park on hwy. 92 in Hiram has a great paved walking trail. -
My son and a group of his friends went to see it last night. He said it was hilarious.

Yes, my son and I listen in most days on the way home from work and school. My son (12) thinks he's pretty cool which I think is great from the new generation. We would still hear Sr. a few days here and there. I'm glad my son will remember Mr. Harvey Sr. and at the same time have his son to listen to in the future. What a great tradition! I began listening to him in the 70's. Maybe my son will still be listening to his son 30 years from now. Rest in peace, Mr. Harvey, and as someone else posted: It sure would be nice to hear your "Rest of the Story" now. Perhaps we'll share it

Yes, I agree a public forum is for everyone, but I was addressing a particular comment made by an individual. How can Tess answer for someone else? My bad in thinking Tess was yelling, I apologize for that. I did not see the comment that you have now pointed out to me. Thank you for doing that. I would still like to know when "they have closed schools for a lot less" before. I grew up attending Paulding County Schools and have been driving a school bus here for 6 years. I have never known the schools to be closed unnecessarily. I know how and when the decisions are made to cl
