  1. :yahoo: :yahoo: I expect a BIG hug the next time I see you. And a few more pounds on you, too. You looked great the day I saw you.
  2. I love the wireless connection for my laptop. It doesn't really go anywhere but the beauty of it is I CAN go elsewhere in the house.
  3. Meanie. JJ is a sweetie. I wish I could be there, too.
  4. I'm hoping I can resurrect the desktop. If not, you may have yourself a desktop. Or two. I just hate to spend the money for a wireless printer right now. I gotta print, though. I did look at some sharp looking, relatively inexpensive ones today at Staples. I'd be willing to bet none of them take the ink that I also bought today!
  5. It makes sense these days to go to the bank before you go to the gas station. Just sayin'.
  6. I came up with Solution #3--buy a new wireless printer, install the software on the laptop and toss the desktop out of the second story window. Since the desktop seems to have stopped working TOTALLY today, this seems like the best choice. I've been wanting a new printer but hate to spend the money if I don't have to. I also hate having to take the laptop upstairs every time I want or need to print something. How is it the modem/router is still working? It, too, goes through the desktop but I have no problems accessing the wireless connection. Come to think of it, since the deskto
  7. I had the same vehicle behind me all the way from Hiram one time. I mean every turn I made and I think I was coming from Staples or somewhere like that. I was getting a little nervous coming down Hiram Lithia Springs Road until they pulled in the left turn lane at Brownsville. At that point, I realized they just knew the same back roads that I do.
  8. Even if I come in and mention it?
  9. You're paranoid. If someone was actually following you, it is doubtful you would ever know it. BTDT.
  10. My printer is upstairs while my laptop is downstairs. I have the printer hooked up through the router which is hooked up to my desktop computer, upstairs. The desktop has been giving me fits lately and keeps cutting off. And naturally, the printer won't work when that happens. Is there a way I can hook the printer up, leaving everything where it is, and not have to use the desktop computer? I'm afraid the desktop is on it's last leg. TIA
  11. That spicy ketchup is the A week or so ago my hubby said that if we were at the beach we could have a Whataburger for lunch. That was plain MEAN!! We WEREN'T at the beach.
  12. Links: Orleans Bistro: http://www.orleansbistro.net/ Whataburger: http://www.whataburger.com/ The Fish House: http://fishhouse.goodgrits.com/index.php The others I mentioned do not appear to have websites. Captain Joey's and Captain Nick's have FB pages, though. Be warned: if you go to Orleans Bistro, the food and service are incredible but the town of Grenada, MS is not.
  13. My absolute favorite place to eat is Captain Joey's in Pensacola. Absolutely NOTHING fancy--it's a trailer, you're served your food on plastic baskets with plastic eating utensils. The food is great, the price is good and the service is superb. If you've never eaten at Whataburger, you're missing out on quite possibly the best hamburger in the world other than the one at Bar L Barbecue in Rockmart.
  14. Captain Nick's--Bangor, ME The Fish House--Pensacola, FL Orleans Bistro--Grenada, MS I can't remember the name of the place we went to in Appleton, WI. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced. Locally raised beef so the steak was out of this world! I'll ask hubby and see if he remembers the name of it. I also don't remember the name of the place we went to in Garibaldi, OR. They had THE best clam chowder I had ever eaten. Mmmmmmm. Now I'm craving me some Orleans Bistro or Captain Nick's. Gee, thanks a LOT former member!!!
  15. The area where we're looking had a decline but not like around here. In fact, a house that you could expect to get for under $50,000 here you would be lucky to get for $80,000 there. IF you could find a house that was worth spending 80k on.
  16. Sun Valley won't be opening this summer. well, take a truckload of patience and a boatload of money. The housing prices down there are a lot more stable than they are here.
  17. Must be why you're "Happy" Wife and Mom. I'm with you!
  18. You got an extra room I can use??? We've been trying for TWO years to buy a house in that area and keep missing out on them. Guess that's what happens when you HAVE to pay cash and people who want to finance can pay more than you can.
  19. Probably where I spent almost all of last summer. Here at home in the A/C and going out and about taking care of my clients. Thank goodness one of them is no longer in that hot office where they were last summer. :yahoo: The view isn't hardly as good as I get to look at a convenience store now as opposed to the Dallas square but the office is much nicer.
  20. Reasonable accommodations, yes. But what might a reasonable accommodation for a clerical worker might not be a reasonable accommodation for a school bus driver.
  21. Here's the link to the "Grid Rules" http://www.ultimatedisabilityguide.com/grid_rules.html These are what is used for determining if a person is disabled. Here is a link to the medical listing of disabilities. http://www.ultimatedisabilityguide.com/medical_listings.html NOTE: if your disabling condition is not listed, you're not considered disabled. You MUST have subjective findings of disability--a disabling condition of the spine that limits your ability to function normally, a listed mental disorder that prevents you from working and interferes with your normal everyda
  22. Oh you hit it on the head with that!!! Hubby had sustained a chemical burn in 2000. He recovered from the burn fine but the first day he was supposed to go back out on the job he had a panic attack and couldn't go. He was already seeing a psychiatrist at the time because the job was just being a huge mental strain on him and he needed help. He went out on medical leave. The DAY he was to return to work he was dismissed, with the employer saying the job had been eliminated. It hadn't. He had been replaced for about half the wage by someone about half the age. We, too, consulted a lab
  23. It took my cousin four or five years and an attorney to get it. It took my hubby 119 days after application. It just really depends on so many factors. My hubby had not done anything other than heavy labor for over 30 years (he was a machinist, then did field service in paper mills for 19 years, worked as maintenance tech in a manufacturing plant and then did hydraulic cylinder repair for about 18 months). He was also 58 years old when he applied. Since he was considered "advanced" age, in light of his disability, he was approved for SSDI on the first try. My cousin OTOH only worked
