  1. And don't rob any federal banks, just local ones.
  2. Been planning to buy a gun for two years. Guess now's the time. Drive a Kia that's paid for. Only credit card I have is used for gas and the occasional online purchase. Can't qualify for home equity loan (someone HAS to have a job to do that). I either pay with cash or debit card. Haven't been to the movies since "War of the Worlds" came out, the remake not the original. Christmas budget is whatever a Ruger costs and a few things for the grandbabies.
  3. I agree wholeheartedly with your advice about buying stocks--good businesses, hold them a long time, get them at great prices (buy low, sell high), don't pay attention to politics. However, I disagree wholeheartedly with your statement about Romney getting his butt kicked on election day. I don't call a 50.5% vote vs a 48% tally to be "getting your butt kicked". And while I am mathematically challenged, those two numbers added together don't add up to 100% but instead add up to 98.5% of the vote. That leaves 1.5% unaccounted for.
  4. The only time my kids ever ate their meals on a hard surface was when they were at one of their grandmothers house. My dining room always has had carpet. And let me tell you, Mrs Buttersworth doesn't come out of carpet very well.
  5. It might be easier to just report EVERY traffic light on 278 from the Alabama line to I-285, every traffic light on 61 from I-75 to Villa Rica, every traffic light on 92 from I-75 to Griffin, every traffic light on Dallas Highway and every traffic light on Macland. They ALL need better timing. We live near Oglesby Road and 278. We have seen numerous people turn right and then make a U-turn when they were going straight ahead. The light holds so terribly long, IF you get a light. Sometimes only left turns get a light.
  6. Not to be a smart aleck, because I have to sit at traffic lights as well, but you might consider leaving earlier. Even 2 minutes can make a big difference. I've always had to leave in time to account for trains, traffic lights, accidents, slow drivers, ladders in the road, etc. I'm usually early.
  7. Throw in the one at Merchants Dr and 61 while you're at it. But you might as well be complaining to the wall for all the good it will do.
  8. I am not fond of their food and HATE their commercials. I mean really, why does she not recognize HIM until she takes HER helmet off? Is she a blonde in disguise? And am I the only one who gets the idea it isn't chicken fingers she wants some of?
  9. We do think alike a lot of the time, don't we?
  10. My bet is prescription medications are OK, right? My husband used to take hydrocodone (or oxycodone, depending on which his doctor gave him that month) and morphine AND two muscle relaxers. I've seen him fall asleep sitting in a chair. No, not just "fall asleep", he went unconscious. I called 911 because he was ashen and unresponsive. But because they were prescriptions he likely would have been able to work (had he been able to work at all). Thankfully, his customers knew he was on the meds and he had to get special waivers from them so he could go into their facility. He had to a
  11. Best thing to do is talk it over with the CPA you choose. They can advise you based on YOUR situation.
  12. To point out that not ALL people who receive government assistance voted for Obama.
  13. Or pop a pain pill. Or a muscle relaxer. Or both.
  14. DEFINITELY, Tina Drummond. 770-505-0370 http://anddrum.com/
  15. Tell that to the 12.3 million who are unemployed. There is a big difference between having a "job" of keeping up your own place and having a job where you can earn a living.
  16. 1976--Carter (D) 1980--Reagan ( R ) 1984--Reagan ( R ) 1988--Bush ( R ) 1992--Clinton (D) 1996--Clinton (D) 2000--Bush ( R ) 2004--Bush ( R ) 2008--Obama (D) 2012--Obama (D) Five of each, certainly not the five out of six you claim. In fact, if you just use the first term of the those re-elected, it is 3 GOP and 3 Democrat. STILL not 5 out of 6. And I thought I was mathematically challenged!
  17. I agree with you. My grandchildren are 24, 21, 19, 16, 12, 4 and 2 so I really worry about the world, not just the nation, that they will live in. Some people just don't get it, do they? BTW, my daughter and son in law (along with the 4 year old and the 2 year old) receive government assistance thanks to the fact that construction, which was his trade since he was a teenager, has gone by the wayside and he was unemployed for such a long time. He has a job now but they STILL qualify for the assistance. They did not vote Democrat.
  18. Actually, I don't care who you voted for, if you're getting your political information from an entertainment site or celebrity and nowhere else, you don't need to be voting. Same goes for someone who ONLY gets their information from Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity, etc. There needs to be balance between what you hear, whether or not you agree with it. One cannot make an intelligent decision on an issue without hearing more than one opinion about it. FYI, I am an Independent. I vote for the candidate, not the party. I'd just as soon they did away with political parties entirely.
  19. What is scarier than people getting their info from the sources you mentioned is those who get their information from TMZ, Entertainment Tonight, People, David Letterman and such as that.
  20. If an outside company does the maintenance at the cemetery, like the grass cutting, they WILL remove the flowers if they are in the way. If they have name tags on them they may or may not be able to put them back. With all the wind we have had lately, it's possible they have blown away. Several years ago I went to the cemetery where my twin grandsons are buried. LOTS of flowers had been blown away by the wind. Unless they are in pots that are anchored or have cement in the bottom of them (Smith's does this), they easily could have blown away. (((((((HUGS)))))))) to you LR.
  21. Nope. Best thing ever done. Legalize it. Line up the child molesters, rapists and murderers and shoot them.
  22. That's on my Christmas wish list. It's a short list, too. I'm stunned. Really. I'm not just worried about our country but I'm worried about the people.
  23. I'm pretty sure that having POA does not mean you can handle voting for her or even obtaining her ballot. And you have no idea about me. I agree with NC-17 on this. You have a lot of hostility about this. I'm guessing you are more upset about your mom not getting to vote than she is. She has more serious things to worry about if she is in the hospital!!!
