  1. I think that's part of it but too we become more aware when things happen to us or those we love. And for anyone wanting help from a Facebook group just be aware that many of them are NO help. Often they are just people who have their own agendas. Get your information from a place like NORD (National Organization of Rare Diseases), a non-profit educational group for your particular disorder or from the NIH (National Institutes of Health, a government agency). Here are links: NIH http://www.nih.gov/ NORD http://www.rarediseases.org/ In fact, here's a link to the NORD pag
  2. That's true. Come January it will be replaced by President Romney, not President Elect Romney.
  3. I don't have a lot of experience around cheating women but I can tell you one thing based on the experience I do have, the ones I knew who cheated on their husbands did NOT "trade up". One went from an electrician to a plumber, not exactly trading up. One went from a utility lineman to a..utility lineman. One of them had serial one-night stands. All had affairs because of problems in their marriages. All ended their marriages, too. Oddly enough, one of them married the ex-husband of one of the others I referred to. All of us women were co-workers. In fact, I knew two couples
  4. That is very true. Oh, another favorite word: metacarpal Why do I like medical words? Oh yeah, was a medical transcriptionist for 17 years! Medical terminology was my favorite subject EVER in school. We have a winner!! Best phrase EVER.
  5. I agree. It's rare that I ever go in my husband's wallet and it has usually been to get a receipt that I needed. He is great at saving receipts (I taught him well when we had our first business). He won't go in my purse even when I tell him to look in the front zipper pocket. He just gets a look like this I am the one who opens mail addressed to him, generally because he doesn't care to open it. Almost everything is a utility bill or tax bill or credit card bill anyway. I tell my husband and everyone else he is my first and LAST husband. I ain't doing it again. Doesn't get
  6. Another of my favorite words is medulla oblongata.
  7. It's been a while since we did this but it has been a stressful week both personally and for the country, so let's lighten the mood a bit. What is your favorite CLEAN word? Mine: honk
  8. They talked about this on the news the other night. I dreamed it actually happened.
  9. While I don't miss that trek up the steps, the walk from the parking lot next to the AT&T Building or the blazing heat in the office during the summer, I do miss working in downtown Dallas. It's a beautiful little town. I love the people there. If we were looking for a house in this area, that's where I'd look because I LOVE Dallas. Rockmart isn't half bad either.
  10. I've been to College Park. Didn't feel safe walking from the parking lot to the hotel and the parking lot was in sight of the bellhop. That was in the early 2000s. I never locked my car when I worked in downtown Dallas. Never felt the need to. I worked there until about a year ago. Any comparison of Dallas to either Peachtree City or College Park is pointless. Each one is totally different. Nope, the ghetto of West Georgia will likely be a neighboring city in west Cobb. Not going to take 10 years either. Give it another 2-3 and it will be there. Darn close now.
  11. Nope. Never have. We've both always been open with each other anyway. My husband traveled the world in his job. I HAD to trust him or else I would have gone nuts worrying about what he was doing with whom while he was gone. I wasn't happy when he told me he went to a strip club but I didn't get mad at him either. I know him and know that he might look at other women but when it comes to the one he comes home to, it's me. And for the record, I like to look at other men. I ain't dead. Just married which means I can't touch.
  12. I found some money owed by Greystone to my brother in law a few months ago. Also found money owed from Georgia Power to my other brother in law at the same time. Also found money owed by Cobb EMC to a now-deceased aunt at the same time. Between the three, it was almost $1000! Just be aware that the missing money site does not have Georgia information and that the unclaimed site takes you to the Georgia Department of Revenue site.
  13. Dings are easy to do yourself. Holes are a different matter. Wall "mud" can be used to fill in dings. Get it at Home Depot or Lowe's or even Walmart. Small can is all you need for a few dings. Apply per directions, sand it down, Kilz it and then paint. If you don't have the original paint and the original paintbrush or roller, you might have to paint the entire wall. And it might be a great time to change the color entirely!
  14. Oh man!! I hate to hear that.
  15. We had either four or five groups of trick or treaters. Only ONE trick or treater (not groups, but ONE kid) was from our neighborhood. We always went to neighborhoods other than our own. Then again, most people around were related to someone in the other neighborhoods.
  16. Where exactly are the muscle spasms? You might need to be doing exercises that pinpoint a more specific area. I was getting horrible muscle spasms down the backs of my legs, in the thigh, that stopped above my knee. Turns out it is caused by a subluxation (slippage) of the SI joint. The exercises for that have virtually eliminated the spasms without the use of any medications. You can search the web for muscle spasms in the area you are having them and find exercises for that. Warm baths and tonic water with quinine work quite well, too.
  17. I think we had five groups. One "group" was one kid, one group was two kids. The rest were three or more.
  18. I've had migraines. Haven't had one in several years but I used to get them every single weekend. Yes, you read that right, every weekend. I don't know if it is still used or if it just fell by the wayside in favor of narcotics, but there used to be a medication I took that CONTROLLED the migraines. Not just masked the pain. It actually worked to prevent them or lessen their frequency and severity. I wish I could remember the name. It worked to prevent the constriction of the blood vessels in the brain, which is the mechanism from which migraines occur. And sincerely, no offense b
  19. My husband halfway jokingly suggested we try Oregon. Can't afford California. Prices keep going up we won't be able to afford what we got. I live too far NORTH now! Alaska is just way, way, WAY too cold for me. I'm conservative but I think they are more conservative than I ever thought of being. Primary reason marijuana is illegal is the drug companies can't figure out a way to patent it and get rich selling it. Been reading a real scary book the past week on drug companies and their marketing techniques. It's NON-fiction and scarier than anything Stephen King ever wro
  20. What's fun is to get those calls, listen to the prompts to push such and such button only to have them ask me who called me. Ah, you did.
