  1. OMG Are you kidding??? The moms text those kids ALL DAY LONG. I've been with women who do it - constantly - i never fail to ask "seriously", but, I get, well, I need them to know this or that and they'll check it when not in class - yeah right. I've been in starbucks when a kid texted their mom about how stupid a sub was and the mom said to just walk out of the class. I've told mine if I find a text on his phone during school hours, I'll take the phone.
  2. Please tell me you are not serious......wow.....just wow....so we no longer teach right/wrong, standing up for oneself and ones beliefs/morals - just keep your mouth shut? Oh, my. If these are good kids and their prank just got a little out of hand, why would their be stitches?? Actually, they did do it to everyone's property.......who is footing the bill for the school and county vehicle? Tax payer dollars.....and, who is footing the bill for the cleanup right now......tax payer dollars....
  3. My parents would have me out cleaning with a toothbrush AND I'd be working my tail off to pay restitution.....I can all but guarantee that the parents will foot whatever "restitution/fees/fines" these "good kids who got carried away" did. And, I have teens so don't go all "if it were your kid" on me. These kids are NOT stupid. Spray paint for heavens sake. I think they should spray paint the car that is either their parents or theirs (whatever they have to drive) and have to drive it like that for a while. And, for those that are worried about not going to prom - good heavens - that's not
  4. There is a better way of training......call Diane at Braveheart or Ann at Alchemy trainers.......the shock vibrate isn't the way with most dogs who already have issues.....may cause more issues....
  5. Had a phone call/message from them yesterday after leaving my name/number re: the donation from us.....I understand they will be accepting donations for next weekend on Tuesday.
  6. You're welcome.....I wanted this absolutely beautiful trunk that I know was worth a lot more than $40, but a pregnant woman was trying to decide if she wanted it for her nursery and she finally bought it. Called a friend of mine who takes in emergencies from DFCS because they'd been looking for a twin bed. There were several really nice (and a few really not nice) twin beds complete with bedding for $20 - $75. They called last night to say they'd bought a chest, nightstand and bed and bedding along with baby goods for the baby they're housing and spent less that $175. Hubs & son lov
  7. Went to this today over in Kennesaw off of Barrett Parkway behind Carl Black Chevrolet......3rd floor of an indoor storage place....was kind of impressed....some plain "junk", but, a lot of good deals, too. Said they get new stuff in for each week. My hubs picked up a brand new Darius Rucker cd for a $1, son found a book that we'd just gone to Barnes & Noble last night and they were out - hardback - been out for about 4 months - $3.......I bought some Christmas stuff.... Weekends: March 2-4, 2012 March 9-11 March 16-18 Hours:
  8. I've wondered that too
  9. Could I get on the list to park in that spot? I'll leave the door open!
  10. Quote from Barbara Boxer? SEN. BARBARA BOXER, D-Calif.: They would no longer have to offer breast cancer screenings, cervical cancer screenings. All they have to do is say, oh, I'm really sorry. We believe prayer is the answer. We don't believe in chemotherapy. We believe that, if someone is heavy, they're obese and they get diabetes, we have a moral objection to helping them because, you know what, they didn't lead a clean life. My link And, yes, there were actually Democrats involved. My link And yet, some of those who are voicing their opposition the loudest are Democrat
  11. ABC News emailed the top 10 grocery chains in America. Only Publix, Costco, HEB and Whole Foods responded, saying they don’t use pink slime. No word yet from the rest. A viewer, Miles Herbert, wanted to know, “Is there any evidence that organic meat contains this pink slim?” It turns out there isn’t. If your meat is stamped USDA Organic, it’s pure meat with no filler. But critics say everything else is suspect because pink slime does not have to appear on the label. And the USDA is giving no indication it will force meat packers to lift the veil of secrecy any time soon. My link[/url
  12. Aldi and Trader Joe's are owned by the same German based company........I'm not always thrilled with K or P, but, I try my darndest to shop American. I have been to the Aldi in Acworth....was convinced by a frugal friend to try it multiple times after it opened. There were a couple of things I liked, but, I ended up having to go to other stores to buy things Aldi didn't carry. Also, so much of the foods were from other countries. I know the other stores also offer items from other countries and some produce cannot be found in the US, but, I still have a thing about supporting US when at al
  13. Emerils Big Bold Easy, Tulley's.....WalMart usually has the best price unless you do one of the warehouse type places. Watch Kroger, they put it on sale. Just pay attention. Some of the boxes will have 10, some 12 and some 18 but the prices will be the same.
  14. I saw her in person a few years back at a local large church.....she is hysterical! Go to her site and watch her other videos, too.
  15. The "Singapore" friend will be in a beautiful high rise. A cook & nanny are provide. The place is completely furnished. Pictures she sent when visiting are beautiful. Dubai is an oasis. Their free accommodations are what we'd pay over a million here for. I saw the "apple" manufacture story also and am glad that they pointed out the fact that pretty much anything you buy at WalMart or electronically is produced in that environment. Pretty much the environment of the US 150 years ago. Not all of China is like that.
  16. According to the article, here is what he posted: According to the ruling, Byron posted comments on his page in November, saying in part, "If you are an evil, vindictive woman who wants to ruin your husband's life and take your son's father away from him completely — all you need to do is say you're scared of your husband or domestic partner and they'll take him away." The ruling says several of Mark Byron's comments were "clearly intended to be mentally abusive, harassing and annoying" to his wife and "generate a negative and venomous response toward her from his Facebook friends."
  17. Our school lost an awesome teacher to this last year and one of my neighbors is heading to Singapore in June. Personally, I wish we'd spend the time/effort on our own educational system. Would be better than most of what the government is spending our tax dollars on. My Link The pay and free housing isn't bad either. Teachers working abroad in the Teach Away program are given two-year contracts and earn between $3,300 and $5,500 a month in tax-free U.S. dollars. They also receive a completion bonus equal to one month's salary per year, said Kelly Kargas , placement coordinator w
  18. The one at North Point is almost an entire floor.....Carries most everything in the catalog in multiple colors/sizes. Womens/mens/childrens. The Town Center Childrens is sooooo small.
  19. My link CINCINNATI — A man who was threatened with jail time for posting comments about his estranged wife on his personal Facebook page unless he posted daily apologies for a month says the court ruling violates his freedom of speech. A Tuesday, Feb.21 photos shows the Facebook page of Mark Byron, in Cincinatti, Ohio. Byron is involved in a divorce suit with his wife, Elizabeth, that has spilled over into Facebook. Due to a post on his Facebook page about his divorce and custody restrictions in November of 2011, a Hamilton County judge gave Byron the choice of going to jail or apologi
  20. I wish Sears around this area would do what North Point mall store had done and have a very, very large Land's End section. I love lands end clothing, but hate to order since I can't try it on. North Point is quite a drive to be able to do that. In my opinion, Sears should be tools, housewares/appliances & Lands End. I stopped shopping Kmart years ago when I could find the same stuff cheaper.
  21. My link As of January, the federal government was mailing out disability checks to more than 10.5 million individuals, including 2 million to spouses and children of disabled workers, at a cost of record $200 billion a year, recent research from JPMorgan Chase shows. The sputtering economy has fueled those ranks. Around 5.3 percent of the population between the ages of 25 and 64 is currently collecting federal disability payments, a jump from 4.5 percent since the economy slid into a recession. Mental-illness claims, in particular, are surging. During the recent economic boom, only 33 p
  22. Ken Rodriguez - fox5news- (who I graduated with) - said some nice things and has posted this on his FB page: Here's the latest on Coach Collins: A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 27th at 1:00pm at Smyrna First United Methodist Church, 1315 Concord Road, Smyrna, GA 30080. A reception will be held in the fellowship hall following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Athletes In Action - earmarked for “the Charles Collins Memorial”, 651 Taylor Drive, Xenia, Ohio 45385. Online donations to the memorial fund can be made by going to cc
  23. He was a good man! My link The Atlanta Journal-Constitution A former McEachern High School head football coach and Atlanta Falcons chaplain was mourned Friday after he was killed the night before while crossing a street in west Cobb County.
