I feel the same way about the gay pride parade.

I see it a little differently. Although I don't really agree with his point of view, I do admire him for being honest. Even to the point of losing a few dollars.

You're still not convincing me that I am not better off now than when Obamacare kicks in. Why would anyone think that something that costs more and is of a lesser quality is better? Not being my typical smart ass self. I really would like to see a silver lining around this cluster bump.

Stocks are about to plunge, Wells Fargo strategist warns

That reminds me of a story I heard about The Church of the Apostles. You know, the HUGE church at I-75 and Paces Ferry Road? The story is that one person wanted to pay to build the church, which was back then a $60 million plus project. The church elders wouldn't allow that so a few more people pitched in. When I asked who these people were the person said that none of them were well known but they all owned companies that made things we use every day. -
So when this is all said and done we will end up with something that is more expensive and not as good. Who'd a thunk it? Don't get me wrong. I know better than most how badly the health care industry needed to be revamped. There was a time when the docs told the insurance companies what to do. Then the insurance companies bought out all the medical facilities and put the docs to work for them. Now we have big insurance telling the docs what to do. They know that when a person's health or life is at stake they can pretty much name their price. And it is a two edged sword. Take a

What I read was $6,350 individual or $12,700 family. Almost $20,000 a year is not a good deal.
-
I hope you can show me where I am wrong about this. For a family at the $50K a year income level the monthly cost is $282 / month / person. Deductible is $6,350 / year / person. $282 x 2 = $564 x 12 (months) = $6,768 $6,350 x 2 = $12,700 $6,768 + 12,700 = $19,468 / year
-
MY math was wrong. For a couple in the income range of $50,000 you would be paying an average of $1,622.00 per month. This is going to cost this couple $19,468.00 a year? Now I see why State Farm is preparing for this windfall.
-
So $282 / month / person plus a deductible of $12,700 / year per family? So someone in this income range is looking at $1,081.00 per month? AND is the amount you pay based on the amount you make? You people do know that this is good ol' socialism at its finest?

I'm not about to start bashing anyone about their choices in life. God knows I have made some bad ones. I have never been able to wrap my head around the reasoning that people use to ride motorcycles on the road. I have a lot of good friends that ride all the time and there just seems to be no fear of dieing while people are getting killed on the things at an epidemic rate. If this were cigarettes or alcohol killing this many people there would be an outrage. Accidents that you can walk away from, evn possibly drive away from in most vehicles are certain death on bikes. For instance

Motorcycle riders are always quick to blame everyone else for being stupid. If I am in a wreck I have a full sized pick up or Buick wrapped around me. So tell me, who is stupid?

And if you have not put the gasket on yet, don't. Go buy the high heat gasket. I burned two of those out until I put the high heat on. High heat is white while the other is gray. Easiest things are chichen breasts. I do brisket 30 minutes on each side over about six cups of hickory. Pull it off the egg, wrap it tight in foil and put it in a 225 degree oven for about 5 hours. On second thought here is the best way to fall in love with the BGE. Get a couple of nice ribeyes. Let them sit out so that they reach room temp (a couple of hours). Get the BGE started and let it rev up to

I had the pleasure of meeting the family of the founder of Southern. They are extremely nice people. My meeting them was unfortunately due to some tragic circumstances in their family. -

Interesting questions. Since this was a regional airline I would figure they lived in the Atlanta area. -

Stocks are about to plunge, Wells Fargo strategist warns

There is an old rule for the stock market that everyone seems to have forgotten. I did too until 2001. Never invest more than you can afford to lose. Then someone had the brilliant idea to tie everyone's retirement up in the market. -

Not to sound like a former member, but this should be expected. My first reaction to Bernanke's decision to not taper the quantitative easing was that he missed a great opportunity to start trimming down. Every market was expecting the taper to begin. After watching the market reaction, I think investors will self-adjust and possibly reach a new normal without the F/R's influence. It is my belief that stable and consistent are going to be the trend. Raising the bottom instead of spiking the top so that the market becomes more of an investment carrier and not a casino. I agree with that. When a group of blacks break into an Hispanic home I would have guessed they were up to stealing some dope. Once I heard the Mexican was in on it too, I figured they were settling a debt. And don't forget the big clue. Clayton County. Nothing good happens in Clayton County after 7:00 AM.
