  1. When I tried for it in 2003, I had to apply for the benefits from the state I worked in, NOT the state I moved to. Therefore, I received zilch thanks to the People's Republic of Taxachusetts. Georgia had nothing to do with it. I don't know how much things have changed since then.
  2. Ohhh k. I'm betting her boyfriend/fiance is a bit upset now too.
  3. I figured it would be some sort of story such as this. I truly hope that isn't what happened to her. But if it didn't happen, I REALLY hope she doesn't file a police report and get in bigger trouble. Glad she was found safe.
  4. When I see a full moon, I always think of rocket attacks. In certain areas of Afghanistan, the bad guys would use the light of the full moon to shoot their crappy rockets onto the military base. Many times over the years I have been talking to DH via Skype when the big voice comes on warning them to "don their helmets". I'll never look at a full moon the same way again.
  5. I thought I remembered seeing new legislation in the works to address this issue. I couldn't get it when we got orders from MA to GA because I worked in MA. Pretty crappy if you ask me.
  6. They also take over the city of Old Orchard Beach in Maine every summer. We go up there every summer too. I used to think the french were rude. But after awhile I came to the conclusion that they don't mean to be rude, they just come across that way. Like many Americans I suppose.
  7. Oh those French Canadians are a different bunch all together. My inlaws (who are FC) always say things like "That was dumb, you're so French" and "what are ya, FRENCH?!?!" . Of course they are just kidding. But it cracks me up because there is definitely a "French" way of doing things up there. Have fun in Kebec!
  8. It's about time. I like her personality, but the way she smiles at inappropriate times, makes odd comments, and gets overly dramatic while reporting news truly annoy me. Glad she's had a great career but I won't be sad to see her go on to other things.
  9. You're welcome! I too always look for ways to make recipes lighter and healthier. In fact, in this recipe, I used 0% greek yogurt in place of the sour cream and could not tell the difference. A lot of low fat, and fat free foods taste the same as their cholesterol and saturated fat laden cousins. Good for you for watching what you eat! It's definitely a change of life, but one that makes life much BETTER! If you get a chance, check out that website I listed above, there are some incredible recipes on it.
  10. Did I read that right? His father was videotaping Susan and claims to have had a sexual relationship with her? The whole story sounds like a terribly sad, real life version of a Lifetime movie.
  11. Didn't say you did, sorry that you took it that way. But thank you for taking the time to reply to my post.
  12. Just to clarify, not all men who date younger women are pigs. Some actually end up having long and faithful marriages with their younger partner.
  13. You'll feel better if you get it all out. Do tell.
  14. We think it's a silly holiday so don't do anything different. I know I'm loved everyday of the year which is way more important than overpriced flowers and waxy chocolate.
  15. Target and Walmart carry them. Although it's been a year or so since I last looked for one but they used to have them.
  16. I was going to suggest the "lighter" version of Buffalo Chicken dip from Skinnytaste... Ingredients: 4 oz reduced fat cream cheese, softened 1 cup fat free sour cream 1/2 cup Franks hot sauce (or whatever hot sauce you like) 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese 1 tsp white wine vinegar 2 cups (14 oz raw) cooked shredded chicken Directions: Mix the first 5 ingredients together until smooth. Add the chicken and put this in the crock pot on low for 3-4 hours. Serve warm. Makes 5 1/2 cups Here's a link to my fave cooking blog and some more suggestion for Superbowl reci
  17. Wow, whomever said "trainwreck" in the other topic wasn't kidding
  18. Hi neighbor! I'm not in Brookstone, but I feel like I'm surrounded by it in a subdivision off Pitner Rd. We lived in the City of Dallas. When the area started declining, we bought in Cobb and now rent out our house in Dallas.
  19. Yes! I usually just ask if people know where Brookstone or the Dog park is located. We had some friends driving in from NC and we told them "Acworth". So they call back and ask, "Paulding, Cobb, Bartow or Cherokee County?"
  20. very true. I was thinking more along the lines of the 30101 area (unincorporated Acworth-ish) If you believe some analysts, you might want to stay out of the counties in "The Ring of Death" which includes Paulding. http://www.wsbtv.com/news/news/real-estate-expert-dubs-area-ring-of-death/nFDYF/
  21. West Cobb county is nice too with good schools and nearby shopping.
  22. If you look at the ingredients, it's basically Crisco. So if you want a cheaper alternative, slap some Crisco on your heels
  23. if you still have the receipt...return them! If not, moleskin in the best for blisters. It doesn't come off like bandaids do. Just cut the spot that will go over the blister and you should be good to go. My husband, who was Infantry, introduced me to moleskin. I always keep a little bit in my purse in case this scenario happens to me.
  24. At what point is an adult old enough to be "rational" and make "good decisions"?
