  1. The jokes would have been so much better if this happened in Jackson Hole instead of Jacksonville. Although JVille, NC is pretty much a sheeze hole anyway.
  2. I think this sums it up quite well. A perspective from someone who has walked in the boots of the Marines... http://news.yahoo.com/outrage-video-marines-urinating-taliban-corpses-veterans-view-055500933.html
  3. OK, if you believe Wikipedia (not the best source IMO), ask a Marine if he's a soldier, or vice versa. I'm guessing 9 out of 10 will tell you they are a Marine. The other one out of ten is just trying to be polite and not to hurt your feelings. After re-reading it, that Wiki bit is pretty weak and doesn't make much sense. At least not to my feeble brain. But thanks for taking the time to Google it for me.
  4. Not related to the topic but this is one of my big pet peeves.... They were NOT "soldiers". They are Marines. Marines aren't soldiers, just as soldiers are NOT Marines. Ask a Marine sometime if they are a soldier and see what they say or vice versa, as a soldier if they are a Marine. Some people might want to file that tidbit of info in their mental Rolodex for use at a later time. /tangent
  5. Honda because of resale value and ease of selling in two years.
  6. And this is one of the reasons why I have such an issue with what these idiots did. My husband was an Infantry Marine for 27 years. He is still overseas working for the Marine Corps as a civilian. These morons that desecrated a corpse, have now tarnished my husband's career and image as a Marine (and every other upstanding, loyal, honest, and faithful servicemember). That's just one of my many qualms with their actions. By the way, it is quite possible to have an opinion of someone's behavior or actions without judging them as a human being.
  7. There are lots of things that I've never been through and/or experienced. But I'm still capable of telling right from wrong.
  8. Cobb and Dekalb County were at every Job Fair when my husband was stationed at Camp LeJeune.
  9. I'm sure there are a lot of people whose first reaction was disgust. I think anyone with a beating heart would feel disgust at seeing a human being urinating on the dead body of another. Having that feeling doesn't mean you are conservative or liberal. It doesn't mean they are judging the Marines either. It shuoldn't be something anyone wants to see our brave men that fight for our rights doing to a human being. We are better people than the cowardly enemy. I'd venture to guess a lot of people don't want to offer much of a dissenting opinion in fear of being called unpatriotic. I'm su
  10. Putting the morality issues aside for a moment. These guys are a bunch of flippin' MORONS. Complete, utter fools. Why in the hell VIDEOTAPE this crap?!?! Now, not only will they be busted down, spend a long time in the brig, and cause undue pain to their families. But they also are putting their buddies at more risk of being maimed, tortured, and/or killed at the hands of their further enraged enemies. These idiots gave the media the opportunity to play this video all over the world and back.
  11. I also hope that my husband would not do that, or did not do that while serving. The Corps teaches values, integrity being one of them. Our Marines (and other branches) are better human beings and have more decency and humanity than our enemy. Acts like this do not show any of that. It doesn't sit well with me at all.
  12. Did you get Arborvitae? I had three of them planted because the landscape company said the same thing about the beetles.
  13. I really hope it's just a fake. Videos like this put our troops in more harm, fuel some people's ideas that they are animals, and always ends up with Marines losing their jobs. Therefore, I'm hoping it's not real so none of the above happens.
  14. Uhhhh yeah, not cool in a subdivision.
  15. I've had more than I can count at different hospitals and I've never been in a room long enough to need a TV, or air control options. Usually, it's in the room, change, nurse takes info, meet anestesiologist and then get wheeled into the torture room. After the procedure, I wouldn't know if there was a tv or not thanks to the after effects of Propofol. How long were you there? Wanna talk about a bad prep day... My dog died in surgery the afternoon I had to start the prep. I chased the Moviprep with glasses of white wine. And when I woke up groggy after the procedure, I asked my husban
  16. I do the same thing with a good friend of mine! I can spend a couple hours in Harry's with her, chatting, talking about food, looking at new items, and of course, people watching. In fact, when I have family visit, they ALWAYS want to go there. I think it's just because they love the black forest bacon from the butcher One thing that I always appreciate about Harry's/Wholefoods is that all the employees seem to truly enjoy their job. It's refreshing to have happy workers to interact with. Now some of the customers
  17. In two years, my 11 year old nephew has undergone a liver transplant and battled Lymphoma. He just found out a week ago that he is in full remission. You'd never know that either him, or his family has been through such hardships; physical, emotional, and finacial. They are the most loving and giving family I have ever met. My nephew has touched so many in his short years, including me and has changed me in many ways. His story certainly puts EVERYTHING into perspective for me and for anyone that has been blessed with meeting him.
  18. And THIS is why I constantly remind myself that I never know what pain someone is walking around with. So I smile and try to be kind no matter how grouchy and mean they appear.
  19. There's also a Wholefoods (also called Harry's) on Roswell Rd just past the Big Chicken. Not the same as TJ at all, but they also specify in organic and specialty foods. If you've never been to one, it's a great store.
  20. Glad you got what you wanted. No offense but I wouldn't want to look at stumpy, topped Lelands everyday. But that's just me, I always cringe at the sight of any topped tree.
  21. So I'm lying here in bed, trying to sleep and I keep thinking abour how snippy this post this post was of me. Sorry. See what lack of sleep does to a person? I did end up taking 1/4 of a melatonin afterall LOL. Now I'm going to do a little shopping on shopggodwill.com (where all the good stuff is sold) and wait for it to kick in...hopefully. Oh my goodness, that poor baby. Bet she gets a lot of good thinking in while staring at the ceiling though
  22. If you re-read, I stated that I've tried it. It only works if I take it once or twice a week. Anymore and it's no longer effective on me. But thanks for the recommendation, maybe I should try it
  23. Wouldn't the easement be clearly shown on a survey of the property?
  24. I absolutely LOVED this movie. But I'm not a fan of action packed, blow 'em up type of movies. I like the more thought provoking kind of dramas without all of the special effects. This movie was excellent.
  25. You mean that little appearing/disappearing thingie to the right of the topic? Yeah, it's been there awhile. I use it sometimes but it's annoying depending where on the board the topic title lies. Wow, that was really difficult to type out using all that fancy desciptive language
