  1. Yes. We sacrificed our butts off to have what we have now. We have no debt, house or otherwise. We are moving out the country in July and will be retired, unless DH wants to do some consulting jobs in semi-retirement while enjoying the equatorial sun. If you overpaid, there is a spot for recovering the excess on your 1040 form. I thought your Dh was doing 30, what gives?
  2. I've always been curious about the amount of children running around the place. Has anyone been there in the summer? Are there throngs of wily children swarming? I'm just curious because I'm not going to join. I should have gone three years ago; it's so close to my home.
  3. Flintstones, Jetsons, and Top Cat. I'm now learning Spanish and watch them on JustinTV dubbed in Spanish. It really helps!
  4. I love to read. But I don't want to hear anyone's opinion on a book I just read.
  5. It's in the Mars Hill and Stilesboro Rd area. I drive by it everyday and have always wanted to stop in. Oops, never got around to that. I've heard great things about it though.
  6. I'm always shocked at the HUGE difference in what different insurance companies pay for the same medication. My insurance pays $1900 every two months for a medication I require. They cover the entire cost, I pay nothing. Other people that require the same med, their insurance pays $6,000-$9000!!! I understand why it's an expensive drug but the price discrepancy is insane.
  7. I freeze leftovers. I'll make extra marinara sauce, shredded chicken, spaghetti sauce, beans, etc to have on hand when I don't have a lot of time to cook. I always buy the bulk shredded cheese and split that up. I used to love it for sending food to my husband when he was in Afghanistan. I sent him homemade bread and ten days later he said it tasted like it just came out of the oven. I recently used it to send some tea tree oil to a friend overseas. I sealed it so even if the bottles broke, the oil wouldn't leak everywhere. I'm sure there are tons of other uses as well that I'm just no
  8. Foodsaver, for sure. But I didn't pay anywhere near $145 for it. I think I paid $80 or so for the smaller one. I bought the Rival and it sucked, errr, didn't suck. When I returned it, the lady told me that they come back all the time. I've had the Foodsaver for two years now and I love it so much, it's moving to Costa Rica with me. I bought the extra rolls of plastic at Sam's and haven't had to buy any since. It's a large box but much cheaper.
  9. That house has been on the market for three years. He's a loser Big Poppa arrested and Big Poppa's foreclosure
  10. Fo' sure. It's some big $$$. That's why calling first is the best idea. I actually had a vet at the one on Thornton Rd give me advice over the phone and told me not to bring my pup in because he should be ok until Monday morning. I appreciated that.
  11. It depends where in Dallas. We used the Thornton Rd. vet when we lived in Dallas off BR 6. It's a straight shot down 278. Hope everything turns out OK! Their number is 770) 819-1090
  12. I've always thought that was such a beautiful area. If I were to stay in the US...I'd have a summer home in Montana. Breathtakingly beautiful country and the people are awesome.
  13. Did you try the International grocer just a few doors down from Taj Mahal? They have quite a bit of items. They moved recently but only down a few more doors, to a bigger store. I LOVE Taj Mahal. Yummmm.
  14. Thank you. And also thank you for giving us Julie. Both of my "kids" are coming with us. I sent some of their ashes to DH when he was in Afghanistan so he could have them near. The morning he left for good, he spread them to the wind. Another part of them is going to India with us. And finally both of them will find their final resting place in a beautiful tropical, rainforest. They are still spoiled, even in the afterlife. Again, I'll never forget everything you did for them in their last days and years. PHEW! Got sappy there, sorry.
  15. sheeze, I joined when my husband was deployed to Afghanistan for the first time (2004). I knew no one here. We had moved here a few months prior to his deployment. My, oh my how things have changed. DH spent almost four years deployed as military and civilian since then, with another two years in NC as a Marine Corps Geobachelor. We sacrificed more than most people could ever fathom to be able to retire while I'm still in my mid 30's and he in uhhh, older LOL. Now we are moving out of the country and cannot wait to start anew! Wenfen, my husband and I could not have done half of wha
  16. Cedartown...NEVER County Services! And don't go on a Monday. They are closed Mondays.
  17. Probably has something to do with this ? http://www.zdnet.com/microsofts-hotmail-phase-out-whats-a-user-to-do-7000011688/
  18. Worker's Comp insurance companies do this as well as part of their investigation process.
  19. We are following our dream and moving to Costa Rica in July. We've been traveling back and forth for years and decided to make it permanent. So we are selling everything and starting a new life in a new country. Can't wait!
  20. What if someone has PTSD from combat experience in the Middle East and does not want any middle eastern doctors or nurses? While I don't agree with it, I can see where sometimes these requests might be necessary for proper medical care.
  21. That reminds me, is it your DH who has spinal stenosis? I need to PM you sometime about that.
  22. That is why I said I think body weight AND the particular softness of the mattress has something to do with the heat. A person who weighs 300 pounds sleeping on a softer foam versus 110 lb on a firmer, foam mattress would most likely experience a VAST difference in temperature. That is why it is so important to test a mattress. Everyone is different. And Temperpedic has a vast array of mattress firmness now, so try them all. And no gel insert, I've had mine for years, before they came out with the gel.
  23. There's no padding, it's just a cover...no padding. And there's no sweaty issue here. I guess it depends on body weight and shape though.
  24. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Temperpedic and am going to beyond sad when we move and have to leave it behind. I've had it for 4 years now and have never felt hot in it, even when I was on Prednisone. I'm always hot and this thing has never bothered me. They have a 20 year warranty and all different types of hardness. Try some out. My husband has herniated cervical disks and spinal stenosis and this bed has been a Godsend for him. We bought the adjustable platform to go with it last year and I LOVE that thing. It has a "snore" function on the remote so if he's snoring, I hit the button and it rai
