  1. Be caring always, but also be vigilant. Unfortunately, when bad times like this hit, that's when the scammers come out in droves. I don't know the first thing about this woman, but it's always good to be aware of the little things you might see. I remember giving a lady $2.00 once at the corner of a street close to my home. I got to the house and told my dad about giving her 2 bucks. He drove me to the store close to our house, and there she was with a pint of hooch and a pack of smokes. While I know my dad was teaching me a lesson, I still opt for the positive in people, only I pay more atten
  2. Speaking of good news....I tried out a singer on Sunday evening, and WOW!!!! She blew me away!! She came down again today at 4:00, and busted our butts on working up material for 5 hours!! I've got some of it recorded too. I am going to set up a special youtube account that will have her singing along with my playing, so you guys can check her out. We got down about 30 or so songs just today. She's very talented, and has a set of pipes that will blow your mind!! My search is over. I am playing with my drummer at The Bottle Ranch this Wednesday night, and I am prepping her to come down and sing
  3. I heard that!! Every penny counts these days! Good for you.
  4. Pubby will hook you up!! Folks, I had the pleasure of meeting this lady, and she's a very nice person, and I know our community could benefit greatly by the services she plans to offer. Send Pubby a PM, unless he's already sent you one. He's good like that.

I was gonna say....Wednesday!!! I know what you mean though. My singer and I could not believe we had spent over 5 hours today working on music!! I've got a few things going on Tuesday, so Wednesday is perfect for me. It is all but gift wrapped, and waiting for you. I'll go ahead and inform the other potentials, as to not leave them hanging, that the saw is sold. I'm not an early bird, and I usually get up around 9 or 10. So, if bringing it to you would help you out, please just let me know. You can still call me this evening, if you have a game plan for Wednesday.

I'm at a loss for words. How incredibly kind of you!!! It's so good to see the good side of pcom, and you, sir, are a shining light!! I'll send you a PM shortly. I'm swamped with PM's from the "fall-out" from the dog snafu. Plus, I've been unable to pcom since 4:00 this evening when my singer came over for practice. I'm playing catch up.

Yes, please let me know ASAP....I need to get some bills paid, and I know you're busy, as am I. But I do need to handle this pretty soon. I've put 5 people on hold in hopes I would hear from you...and I don't mind doing that. Like I said, I would rather sell my items within the local community, plus I think this would be a great thing for what you are buying it for. If it would be more convenient for you, you could always PM me your address and I'll happily bring it to you, to save you a trip. BTW, not sure when you posted this, but it's after 10...so if you would call me, that would be
  8. Sorry to hear about your grandfather. Wow....2 years before they could get you another car??? Dang.
  9. Sorry, I just wanted to bump this one more time, because several people have been PM'ing me about mower repairs. I just wanted them to know that I am now able to repair them again, although with my dad's company. The prices will be the same as usual, since he lets me handle my own former customers, and new ones as they come along. So, there won't be any mark ups in pricing and the quality will still be the best you can get!! I'm just happy to be working again, even if it means a commute to Carroll County. Smaller items, such as weed eaters, and blowers can still be dropped off at my place. I j
  10. Just wanted everyone to know that your LAWN MOWER & WEED EATER MAN is back in business, working with my dad's company in Carroll County. Just give me a call if you need any repairs. I can either pick up the equipment, or give you the location to my dad's shop. Dad's not able to get around like he used to, so I am doing most of the repair work for him. He advised me to let my regular customers know, and anyone else who's looking for a good mechanic, fair prices, and quick, efficient work. So, give me a call, and I can get you back up and running again!! We take in all makes of mowers, w
  11. Me too. I also know the additional toll involved with having to temporarily stop or slow your business. Best of wishes to you and yours. I hope things come out dandy for you all. Many of us are praying for her. Hang tough.
  12. I continue to drive to Marietta for my dentist, because I've had the same one for 25 years, and he's awesome. My doctor is Dr. Rhyant at Wellstar, and he's the best doctor I have ever had in my life. When the health policies would change all the time through the 90's, it's like you never had the same dr. for more than a year or two. I still see this dr. even if insurance doesn't cover it, because he's had about 7 years to get to know me. (I may be rambling, and I apologize if that's the case)....it's late and I'm still giddy from the night shows.
  13. It depends on how obvious she may need braces. One dentist told my oldest daughter she needed braces a few years back. We couldn't afford them, but I could not see any reason for her to get them. Kinda like the dentist "predicted" her teeth would get crooked after about 3 years if she didn't get them. Well, it's been longer than 3 years, and her teeth are fine, and she is a very beautiful 18 year old girl....she's my baby!
  14. I get pretty bored a lot. If you need someone to talk to, let me know. I understand a lot of where you're coming from. Regarding the "what's the point of trying", I know this well also. In my case, it helped to keep trying, but to try someone else....anyone, besides those who should be helping you. You'd be surprised how many good people there are out there. You can only rely on family for so long. Once they seem to be tired of you, reach out to someone on the outside....a friend, or a friend's friend. Remember, there's always someone out there who understands what you're going through, a
  15. This is so true...CA is putting out some of the best wines there are, for much less money. I saw recently on the Discovery channel about how climate changes in Europe have made England very fertile for vineyards. They propped up over 400 vineyards in the past year. So, pretty soon, you'll be seeking out an English Champagne over French.
  16. Honestly, I'm skeered to read the link!!!
  17. I use a small air compressor to clean my machines, BUT, it has a moisture remover in line with it. Also, keep the pressure at no higher than about 50 p.s.i. The canned air is great for its intended use, but it gets pricey if you clean a lot of computers like I do. You can get a decent air compressor (I use a small 3 gallon "pancake" unit), but make sure you have the moisture remover installed on the output end. Conversely, you can use a standard compressor on warm, low humidity days OUTDOORS, and the moisture will be negligible. Allow the computer to sit in a warm place for about an hour befor
  18. Good point....ever felt the heat coming off the side of a laptop??? It's a lot!! They need to vent well.
  19. Be CAREFUL with the BIOS updates. If you're running XP, a BIOS update can send you to the blue screen of death! Best thing is blow out the laptop, and set the BIOS to its defaults.
  20. How about those who would LOVE to pay their debt, but don't have any income? I've never missed a payment in my entire life until I was laid off. Here I am now, filling out applications for at least 2 hours every evening, and not a SINGLE call. (not counting the calls where they politely tell me, I am over qualified for a position)....yes, they have told me that more than a few times. Hell, I've been applying to Wal-Mart for a stock boy position and still NO CALLS. What's a feller to do? I've been doing all I can...playing in clubs only for tips (you're lucky to make $30 on a week night), and f
  21. I can't afford Crown, so I guess I have no opinion...although I think I added to the fact that people today are BROKE.
  22. You know it, honey!!! I'm pretty much playing there Mon thru Thurs every week, except for nights when I have to do auditions with singers.
  23. I would love for you to come too!!! You're one of my favorite peeps from years ago! Guess what??? I saw footballbeerchick IN PERSON last night!! I've been "online" friends with her for about 6 or more years, yet I never met her in person until last night! How cool is that?? And she's just as sweet as I had imagined she would be. Great gal!!
  24. There was almost no one there, but the few that did come in, enjoyed the music a lot. We even moved a table so an elderly couple could dance to one of their favorite oldies. No, I didn't make much money at all...BUT..I am a happy camper, just seeing the happiness on this couples face, as I played Floyd Cramer's "Last Date" for them to dance by. Of course, I do need to make money, but playing piano is such a wonderful thing, and seeing the happiness it brings people like that, if I don't make any money, at least I know I got to make a terrific couple's night. Playing music is so rewarding, in m
