There is every indication that BOA is positioning itself for a reorganizational bankruptcy as a "nuclear option" if it cannot convince the Government, AIG, and other debt holders to write down some of it's massive bad debt held in Merrill and Countrywide. What this means to us is that instead of the stockholders and the customers of BOA either pitching in or taking a hit, we the taxpayer will be on the hook for tens, perhaps hundreds of billions of dollars in bad loans through the FDIC and the Dodd/Frank "Too Big to Fail" plan. The US Government has just stolen $2 Billion annually from th

Believe it or not, in 33 years of marriage, that statement has come up before.

I just responded too soon. I didn't see your post. Gotta love Mia's. To me Birdies was like leftover microwaved Hooters wings served in a nondescript strip mall by angry staff. But I guess wings are like barbecue, everybody has their favorite. JMHO. Mia's may not be much to look at either, even after the facelift, but the food is great and the folks are friendly. You were in the bar. It's far more entertaining than the restaurant which has a family atmosphere. The restaurant is next door, and they both serve the same food. It's your choice, laid back or loud.

Mrs. LTD took to counting remaining "Fridays" about 6 months ago. Since she has no more "Fridays", she has been grinning all day today. I think she is going to be totally worthless Monday.

Yeah, I'm between a rock and a hard place. They can't fix an eroded esophagus very well, they can't fix your kidneys, and they can't fix my heart. Catch 22. Doc says stick with the aspirin and we'll take the rest as it comes. -
Don't forget about north to Spring Road. It's funny that all the land is called "Vinings", but they will tell you that Campbell is in Smyrna because it's one of the worst schools in the metro area.

I have to take aspirin for my heart, and that means that I have to take two prescriptions for reflux/gerd and about four antacids at night. The antacids have lowered my phosphorous and that's affecting my kidneys. It sux getting old. -
Try Mia's Cafe Wingmax in the K-Mart shopping center. We love it and the folks are great.

It's Smynings. They kept selling that whole area as vinings and pushing the "border" further out. We owned a home off of Concord Road near Atlanta Rd. (behind Brawners) not two miles from the Smyrna Courthouse, and the real Estate Agent tried to sell it to the next buyer as "Vinings".

That is fortunate. I hope you are doing well JJ. Our Aunt had such a hard time with it she just gave up. I'm so glad I didn't get Chemo. BTW, aspirin is a freaking wonder drug. They find more and more uses for it. -

If you can't see it there is absolutely nothing I can say. ETA: Maybe you just haven't thought about it. I'll give you a hint. What is the difference between me as a taxpayer subsidizing your mortgage by giving you a tax credit, and me as a taxpayer subsidizing George Soros' Gulfstream IV jet by giving him a tax credit? What makes one right and one wrong? Trust me, when you add it all up, I'm paying a hell of a lot more for people's mortgages than I am for their jets. I guess crony capitalism is fine as long as you get the tax credit, but it's unconscionable if a business or a -

I worked my way through Georgia Tech by doing everything from teaching "Scientific Method and the Engineering Process" in ESM and "Processes and materials" in Architecture as a TA, to drafting, to driving a long haul truck, doing product photography and building architectural and product models also. I worked commercial asphalt roofing and building seawalls in Orlando Florida in the summer in chest deep water. I finished there in a little over 8 years with 3 years in the Engineering Science program and a BS in Industrial Design. Since then I've done everything from design, build and sell

My water bill was EXACTLY the same for three months in a row, and then it jumped in October. That would be a huge coincidence. I think that they didn't read it for three months and then tried to play catch up. Unfortunately, that "catch up" put me into a higher rate class and they are disavowing any knowledge.

Believe me, it's been discussed. I have a detached garage and a 1966 Mustang convertible that my father bought brand new and that I bought off of him in 1969. It hasn't seen the road since 1980. If Mrs. LTD will part with some money (I am told that I am now on a strict allowance), that is my plan for the next couple of years every time she gets "the look".

I retired this morning. The bidness is no longer my baby. Mrs. LTD retires Monday. It's a little sooner than we originally planned, but you have to go with the flow, and when it's time it's time. I'd say that I look forward to being a man of leisure, but Mrs. LTD assures me that will not be the case. Right now the feeling is more trepidation than relief, but those who have gone before me assure that will soon pass. You may now throw eggs as I put my thumbs in my ears, wiggle my fingers, and say NANANA.

If it is wrong for the taxpayer to subsidize Wall Street, how can you justify the taxpayer subsidizing you? Are you poor? Why should the taxpayer give you a discount on your mortgage and not discount the double taxation on investment income? By you I mean everyone who takes a mortgage discount. You see, you are either for crony capitalism, or you are against it. I'm against it. I'm totally against it. I don't want Wall Street to get any sweetheart deals, and I don't want to pay for your (the collective your) mortgage either. Why don't we have a transparent tax plan that is used to fund -
Bingo! Why is it that so many elected officials get into office and then tell us to drop our drawers? Is it really that hard to represent the wishes of the majority of your constituents? Paulette gets into office, keeps her mouth shut the entire session, votes in lockstep with the republican leadership, and then happily turns a third of her conservative district over to very liberal Democratic representation without so much as a whimper in order to garner favor not with her constituents, but with the powerful within her party. It's disgusting, and so typical as to go virtually unnoticed.

Keep reading on down before you issue your barrage against me Sweety, and if you actually think that the "average joe" pays more in taxes than a rich man you are sadly mistaken. The kindest way to put it is that people are willing to lie to you to get what they want. Ignorance isn't bliss, it's simply ignorance. According to the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office, the average effective total Federal Taxes paid (not just income tax, but all federal taxes inclusive) by quintile were as follows: Lowest: 4.3% Second: 10.2% Third: 14.2% Fourth: 17.6% Highest: 25.8% If you are -

Why do you insist that I am against helping people who are through no fault of their own in need of help, when I have said over and over and over again that this simply is not the case, it never was the case, and it never will be the case. I don't know how to be any clearer or more consistent on that fact. As for the OWS people. I let their own words tell me what they want. This is not a protest against crony capitalism. If it were, I would be downtown holding a sign and eating goat cheese salad. You will never find anyone that is more against the concept of government using quid pro qu -
Occupy Wallstreet chef's refuse to feed

No Pubby, the point is that these pampered basement dwellers who have for the most part never been responsible for their own next meal are fine with the "to each" side of the Marx equation, but they are not so fond of the "from each" side. The irony is that they don't even see it. The further irony is that a certain bleeding heart progressive is now suddenly calling the homeless "con artists" and "freeloaders" instead of the unfortunate poor and he doesn't even see it. -

First of all, please point out exactly where I said "truck the poor" because I will eat your hat if you find it. I have never said that, I have never implied that, and I would never say that. In fact you may be the first person to seriously believe that I think that. You are obviously either reading something into a comment that just plain isn't there, or I have not been clear in something I have said. Second, have you read the link? Please read it and then we can discuss my feelings on "truck the poor" and what my solution is. I think it will show you that your take on me is entirely
