  1. That stinks about the air show. Guess it must have been another "oversight" issue concerning the insurance just like the "oops", "we forgot to order/install the fuel tanks during the major phase of construction". It's a shame the air show has been "grounded" since I believe it would have drawn some more folks out to view this new venue, and maybe have more positive thoughts about it. I think it needs to be supported SINCE it is there, but it really has become a joke to me where I cannot resist reading the topic when one pops up. Nor laughing at the article where "expect and expected" are l
  2. It's a sad thing. I hate it myself since I used to go to Destin many years ago. You just couldn't not beat the soft sandy white beaches. I am sure where I moved to recently will be getting overloaded with tourists this summer season. It is unfortunate this has happened on many factors
  3. Well, had no kids nor enjoyed any parks cept for PM or Fireworks @ Taylor. Never had a problem with A "minor" tax increase. It bothered me learning books and such were NOT furnished for a child to go home with to study. Bothered me new school buildings being built<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<less learning utilities. SPLOST is for CAPITAL $$$$$, for bond rating property values for the county. I'd rather see the infrasture of SPLOST (CAPITAL $$) go towards the books and education BTW.....offline. Been to NEBO. Heard many stories
  4. I bet you have some stories with your history in the county while growing up and seeing a vast boom!!!. Just pulling your chain Johhny.
  5. Purdy landscape going on girl. All the suggestions are awesome. I'd add maybe putting in some herbs that will repel insects and may be used for cooking. I mean...pfft away bug and chop, chop on fresh herbs
  6. Johhny I have no dog in this fight since I recently moved from PC. But if I may or point out a few things, please correct me if I am wrong; -Which roads you refer to were mostly funded by State funding, not local SPLOST? -I thought any library in PC was funded by "outside" of the county. Meaning funded by State $$$ (?) -Respective cities in PC may have their own water system (in the city limits) Majority of PC still buys it water from CC -100,000 plus new folks moving in the County should've brought a BUNCH of $$$ into the O&M funding of many county functions. I have more commen
  7. LOL. I agree but I tried to jump on the band wagon since everyone was getting a new roof paid for knowing damn well it would need replacing in the next 3 or 4 years. Funniest thing is the folks that got claims for hail damage to their vinyl siding!!! What???? I could toss marbles at my siding all day long, they just bounce off....no damage
  8. Look further into doing that. I had a casual conversation with a well known roofing contractor from Cobb Co. He had no vested interest in my roofing claim. He said a couple of things. The insurance cos backed way down from paying out claims last fall due to all the claims they had paid out. Also folks that got pissed off because they were denied and wanted to change insurance cos were finding out since it was an industry known "denial" deal on hail damage to roofs, the new insurance company would send out inspectors to go over the roofs with a fine tooth comb and if it was determined ANY hail/
  9. True. It amazed me how many neighbors had been paid by the insurance to get a whole roof replacement when it was known the life of the rood was near the 20 year life spand. Although insurance cos differ in how the payout on the claim goes, either partial payment or full to homeowner, payment directly to roofer, or joint to HO and contractor. I do know many that got new roofs and walked away with some $$$$ in pocket.
  10. I say legalize it. And for the record, I never inhaled!!!!
  11. Dude, too cool!!!! I would like to buy beer on Sunday..................but the chicken place sets an example. Trevett
  12. Drafting a pm to send you. I'll add that my local agent was awesome and had his best thoughts in my situation. He knew damn well I had hail damage
  13. New Hampshire has ABC stores at the rest areas. Grab a six pack and stop at the next rest stop.................only to grab another and drive. WTF???
  14. Been there, done it. Travlers as well as others took a huge hit with the hail damage/flood claims. They ceased paying in Oct, and told the adjusters to lay off on paying on claims. First inspector says hail damage but not enough for a entire roof replacement. Second consultant after my appeal determined my roof had no hail damage. Talk about diff in not only pictures but as well as opinions, or idiot. You find yourself with a cubicle jockey speaking on behalf of your insurance..........trust him/she??????? My local agent in Hiram was great!!!!!
  15. Thank you. In another topic I feel like some of the voters were called idiots, as if the vote was on support a airport, or continue to fund it. My take on this. I voted it down twice. I believe the people spoke, that voted, saying they did not want an airport in PC. Even getting FAA funds to proceed proves the comm did not notice what the common people rather have. Ignored!!!!! Another note gossip/rumors, the county has rejected a few local apps because they are looking for corporate contracts. OK, if I ever forgot to install fuel tanks and/or having hangers available much less denying
  16. Wonder who paid for the costs of those postcards
  17. No debt left will be considered as relief, settlement, or such. Pay off everything you have now and DO NOT agree to a settlement!!! I recently took a huge risk. It paid off for me. I know I went against some good advice, but choose my options. My debt is paid in full, where as those giving me advice will be haunted for many years to come due to them thinking a "short sale" was a good thing. My honest advice, do NOT go for a settlement. Communicate with lender and work out something.Maybe pay what you can, but do not pay to a collection co. I am in a finacial pitfall, but am takin
  18. Currently in Wilmington but looking at Raleigh as my future which has a huge offer in employment in my field. As now, just seasonal stuff. BUT, I will hang around and knock Wilmingtons socks off with community efforts I believe in. Already nailed on the RFL team. Next......shelters, assisted living, etc. As a friend told me...............live life large!!!
  19. Alls good. I recently relocated to NC. I am happy. Guess I went off since years ago we all were fat&happy in jobs...............which are far and few now I concur, and some savings only can help shortly and evaporate real quick.
  20. Not to debate or argue, but his past decisions that you posted maybe will reflect on any future jobs opps!! It is not a pick and choose who to work for now. Be grateful to get employement and food on the table
  21. True, but the op posted he would quit but be able to find another job. That speaks volumes
  22. Too many folks looking for work. And if your hubby got pissed and decided to quit.........shame on him!! Selfish in my mind
  23. Keep in mind, in reality not all households have computers nor access to one. There are alot of folks that would not even know how to turn on a computer much less surf the net to get their info. In this economy I know a few people that have had to give up internet access charges to put food on the table. Additionally, people would be barking that the Gov't needs to furnish evry household with computers and internet access. Think about this, I wonder how much the Gov't spent on the analog to digital conversion where they supported $$$$$$$ for those people that needed a converter box for the
  24. That is OLD news which should've happened at least 6 yrs ago while doing the project, IMO. Do you even think expanding hwy 92 will ever happen??? Stuff MAY happen in bits and pieces, but really do it in one try. What is proposed now.....cut up the well forseen West Hiram Pkwy into to minor exspensive projects???
