  1. Well, you are sorta vague. Was there a contract in place?? If so, take it to court. On another note, the ins cos and mortgage cos DO have a vested interest. Call them and explain, and let them let the bulldogs out to investigate. Otherwise, I feel bad for those that have ignorance enough to pay up front. Sadly IF most of these claims were in fact deemed for a payout on a claim and has not been repaired if any soon to be storms attack the home, the HO will not be covered for any further damage. I hope the best for those that paid out with no service perfomed, but there were a bunch of "fly
  2. Ingles gas station on Nebo/Dallas Nebo. Although, it does depend on the brand
  3. Looks like trash on the side of the road with all the signs, IMO
  4. Were these insurance claims??? If so, I would ask each homeowner to contact their insurance company and let them know about this. Either the ins co cuts a check directly to the homeowner, a joint check to homeowner & roofing contractor, or the entire check to contractor. I am sure the ins cos would be very agressive in investigating why the funds have been spent but no repairs have been made
  5. I agree with you about being in a budget crunch. But, I do think it is a great thing they do continue to do for a large event MANY people of the county can enjoy. But if you think an event like that cost around $10k, I would be very surprised!!! Like I mentioned earlier, look at the ENTIRE cost of the event. For ie; what do you think the per hour cost is for an officer equipped with a vehicle, fire dept personnel, EMT's?? Let's just plug a low # in, say $100/hr x 30 employees for five hours. (using that number to reflect the cost of operating and maintaining equipment). Those imaginary $$
  6. Such a rude statement if you admit you can not even figure out your own utility bill
  7. Ding, ding, ding. After the first year where you had the sellers pay for it................too much fine print and non coverage to be even worth to continue the policy
  8. What I picture here, about three different utilities such as being billed. Must have been a huge increase, or just maybe the summer months do come with that increase because of usage. I would suggest using your AC, washer/dryer, dishwasher, etc during the overnight hours as the electronic meter (if you have one) to lower any "peak" time the market could charge you for
  9. Did this billing period have more days billed for usage?
  10. when signing up on any website, just put in a bogus #
  11. North Carolina has alot to offer. The Biltmore is great and the mountains and such. The beach is a travel from that area to the east coast. I reside in Carolina Beach, Wilmington area. If you want any futher info about this area, pm me
  12. Haven't been in many years but as someone posted Pat O'Briens is a must. And additionally, DO NOT wear high heel shoes while walking in the French Quarter
  13. Distance the county budget VS City of Hiram. Two totally different budgets to spend on community events. If in fact which you MIGHT have heard about WO Park, mostly may have been private citizens shooting off some fireworks and not funded by taxpayers
  14. Was not there this year but imagine the cost would be well over $35K. I am talking about the WHOLE cost, such as contracting for fire works, police, fire, EMT, setup, cleanup, etc. Actually, if you sharpened your pencil I would think a big event like that would be around $75k or $80k, condsidering ALL expenses and efforts
  15. I agree. I posted here about a year or so ago to a topic from a member asking for ideas of locations for a shelter or such. I mentioned the vacated buildings on this site. It's a shame to just see a facility like that, just be vacant and starting to be an eyesore when the potential of a shelter is right there. The infrastructure is there, but the means of utilities, insurance, maint., etc would be an issue.
  16. Hope you do well with this Pat. Many years ago you had some sort of business members on the lottery with the flyers given out at the Dallas Parade. Shame you did not have the staff nor insight. BUT, you did have folks, community people help with this site and much more. Grab your red wagon and walk down Main St., Dallas, Ga. Report back
  17. ME!!!! Was thar for a week, them darted back to the beach
  18. Go I-20 EAST. That'll dead end into I-95. Take I-95 North and just a few exits will be the MB one. Take that East. I am not sure of the exit #. I just past it a couple of days ago when returning from Hiram. I currently live in Carolina Beach, NC, north of MB. Have fun, it's hot here but the beach and ocean is great
  19. You should've asked for a free pass to the Crown Room. That would make you forget about the heels
  20. Miss Dogwoods. As knowing about a new operator, I have no knowledge. Although the owner of that property on the corner has painted the three structures he owns in the same color theme
  21. I darted from PC a few months ago due to no job opportunies, which most of the nation was going thru. I did, thank God, find an opportunity in North Carolina. Although being in sales and able to make my time frame, Raleigh NC is in a big time hiring phase
  22. Mom and her BF just went there this week for a couple of days. Other than a couple of elders that like to just putz around they did mention a couple of food establishments they did enjoy. Hominy Grill, and Mustard Seed
  23. Ding, ding!!! My uncle grew up with most of the members of Areosmith and did manage the band years ago. Even though they are born and bred from Manchester, NH and/or smaller areas around, the record label needed to show a known large city such as Boston
