  1. Don't think so. If he does not wish to participate, he has no need to be there. This is not a criminal matter where the "right" to remain silent is in effect. Especially in a court in which the judge can order anyone out of his court room. There is no violation of rights he can argue.
  2. The judge should just have excused him from the court room while the pledge was being recited. We recite the pledge at the beginning of every shift meeting and I decided years ago that is what I would do if any didn't want to participate. It hasn't happened to date. While I don't support forcing anyone to recite the pledge. I won't force loyal American's to witness antagonists the satisfaction of standing silent in defiance. In fact, the judge would be doing the lawyer a favor of allowing him to leave room. That way, he wouldn't even have to be present to hear it.
  3. When I lived in Ohio for about 10 years, I always got a kick out of people calling the trunk of their car "The Boot". So would that make "trunk" a southern term?
  4. I suppose that would make you a Monkey's Uncle. Congrats
  5. Fuel cost for sitting in airport traffic for 2 hours: $20.00 Realizing that wheel is NOT yours on the trip home: PRICELESS!
  6. Actually, a "cookie" looks like a flat sugar cookie and approximately the same size.
  7. Jury nullification is why he got off.......the first time. At least O.J. is where he needs to be now.
  8. But..but, you're telling us now.
  9. Tell it like it is Madea.
  10. If my luck holds out, I'll be able to avoid it.
  11. I'm usually there when it happens, so no app needed.
  12. Sell it!!!? No chance. We LOVE ours on Daytona Beach. We're just two doors down from Grey Colson (Sorry, can't tell you who that is. He made me promise. ) But obviously they're not for everyone. We had been going down there for 20 years until we realized we'd be better off just buying one....and we pretty much stole the thing. If it's somewhere that you want to visit on an annual basis, it's not a bad idea. If you don't think you'll use it, I'd try to get rid of it.
  13. [high-jack] dumbestgirlintheworld, I've seen the video that goes with your avatar. TOO FUNNY! [/high-jack]
  14. Yeah! What she said. I think it will actually require a Super Bowl Victory for us to experience a full recovery.
  15. GO DIRTY BIRDS! It was a GREAT GAME. Well, you know we deserve it anyway since we had those floods in Cobb County.
  16. It's kind of an insult since they owe me at least 2 dozen for the times when we got home, only to find that they failed to put the ones you paid for with the meal in the bag... I wonder if us doing a full inventory of our meal at the window while making everyone behind us wait has affected their business any? One can only hope.
  17. It'll be here before you know it. How do I know you may ask? Because Friday will be my Sunday and my days off go REAL quick!
  18. Those are GREAT! Oh and, BTW, today is my Friday! I've posted this before, but always get a laugh every time: After every flight, ups pilots fill out a form, called a "gripe sheet," which tells mechanics about problems with the aircraft. The mechanics correct the problems, document their repairs on the form, and then pilots review the gripe sheets before the next flight. Never let it be said that ground crews lack a sense of >humor. Here are some actual maintenance complaints submitted by ups ' pilots (marked with a P) and the solutions recorded (marked with an S) by maintenan
  19. This is not just in reference to Miss Jessie, but I think the compassion is still there for those with mental issues. It's just when you encounter someone you don't know and can't predict their actions. I raised my daughter to avoid encounters with strangers, like many of us do. In this day and time, people have to be even more cautious. I'm not suggesting that Miss Jessie would assault anyone...I have no idea, but for every Miss Jeesie that may not harm a fly, there are 50 walking the streets that would. In short, I wouldn't mistake caution for non-compassion.
  20. I Love seeing my wife and daughter during the 3 days of the week that I can see them. As it says in the Bible, "Night Shift Stinketh". Well, I think that's in the Bible...
  21. I Love stuff like this. I'm going to step out and look in a little while, thanks. Since the space program has been shut down, it may be the only chance we'll get.
  22. I may start one in my garage. A labor of love it is.
