$11-$18 hourly for a library assistant? Impressive. That's a good job for someone!

There was a house fire on Goldmine Rd last night. It's open today at your own risk

Tell them not to drive anywhere anytime soon. His idea of "piece of cake" and mine are apparently two different things! But Publix has a sign on the door that they open at 10
-
Publix will open at 10. My husband is home from the fire station, says Ridge & 61 area was ok

My husband is on shift tonight, a Pauling Co fire fighter. Our oldest son is in Alabma with Pike Electric doing stom work. I've got some busy guys with big hearts. Praying that they stay warm & safe!
-
If you're home, stay home please! The roads won't be much better come morning either!
-
There's an off duty Paulding firefighter that has been uing his personal 4 wheel drive vehicle to transport stranded students home from the elementary school. Kudos!! it's times like this that we see our little "bedroom" community in its true light.

PCSD website says no school for students or staff on Wed. No delay mentioned.

I'm cold and lonely tonight because my firefighter husband is out there working his butt off to help. Quit yer biotching! I promise the City & County Public servants aren't sitting around watching TV & they're not sitting in nice warm heated cars all night either. They're out helping others (some of those are the same ones complaining about schools not closing but yet they took o the road themselves) He's gonna be tired when he gets home in the morning! -
Mulberry Rock & Harmony Road, southwest Paulding, at least 3 snowflakes have been seen! Its HERE! Now, when are the kiddos gonna be sent home?

Metro seems to be a class act, all the way around. There appears to be better employee morale & their trucks are outfitted with current, top of the line equipment. I wonder if others in our county realize what an upgrade this is. Not trashing the old company, but there is no comparison between the two. Metro is top-notch in my opinion!

I think you're onto something there. The two teen boys are more lazy than anything. My girl....oh, my! That's a whole nother story! But it ends? Please tell me it does soon. I really don't want to have to become an alcoholic. Guess it's nice to see others in the same predicament, suffering along with me. Cheers!

They drive me freaking wacko. One minute they're kind, responsible & semi-dependable. The next minute they're making moronic decisions & lack the slightest hint of common sense. Some days we have funny, engaging conversations. Others, it's like talking to a brick wall. My husband is on shift tonight so y'all get my vent. I'm home with three teenagers & a first grader (he's in bed). Someone come kidnap me.... Or at least help me hide the bodies (where's that smiley face emoticon on my iPad?? I'm kidding about the bodies folks!)

It's supposed to be single digit temps in the am. There's usually trouble with buses starting & the little darlings that don't have cold weather clothes for waiting on the bus in these temps.
-
Hope everyone stas warm & healthy. Nothing new on Pcom tonight so I thought I'd start a little trouble

Kids AND my husband (?) came home today talking about a delayed start tomorrow. I know they are avoiding canceling, one more inclimate weather day and there goes winter break! Nothing on the website or Facebook page. We know is going to be freezing in the am, why wait so long to decide?

I read your link & remember that story. Scrolling, at the bottom of the page was this story, a teenage female in Douglasville arrested for heroin possession...just last week http://www.douglascountysentinel.com/news/article_c1c2549c-810b-11e3-bd23-001a4bcf6878.html

Thank you! I have looked at a couple of websites, my specialist is in Stockbridge but I'm going to see what he recommends when i see him again in the morning. I don't do well on long car rides (yeah, I know Stockbridge isn't close but he's the closest one in Ga for my issue) so I will probably go the online/life print/ accompanied by a book route. WyzAnt has tutors listed in our area that travel within a certain radius but $30+/hr can add up quick!

That's a good idea! Thanks! The Cave Springs school looks to be a place for the younger set. I'm not quite 40 yet forever 29 Gonna be a little difficult to teach me new tricks!

true!!! What is the name of the book you have? I've found a few that look good on amazon but someone stated in a review that facial cues & other mannerisms were hugely important (like to distinguish between pretty & prostitute?) oooh boy, this could get really interesting. I think it's important to learn while I still have some hearing left.

Is anyone aware of a place in Paulding or other area nearby that offers sign language classes? What is the best way, online or in a class? I'll be completely deaf eventually due to degenerative hearing loss (Meniere's Disease) and think this will be a nice alternative to a dry erase board (some of the time!)

I don't go to work to make friends. Maybe that's just me. Over friendly people= fake to me. Concierge admin?? Don't know that I could pretend everyday. No pretense. I'd go with option 2. Good steady work with good pay. Leave me alone & let me get my work done. Sometimes the devil that you know is better than the devil that you don't! You have to choose what fits your personality type best. You'll be spending the majority of your waking hours at the place of your choosing every day! ETA: this is the fireman's wife. He's ALL about friendly, nice & helpful we balance each other

My half-brained 19 year old returned from fishing at a local pond on Tuesday with a soaking wet boot & pant leg. I'm a bad parent because never once in his life have I warned him about pond ice (the opportunity never presented itself) so he thought he could walk on water, 1/2 a foot out he got wet.

Husband & I are totally going to see Elvis Sat. night at Dallas Theater

He eats, and eats, and eats, and never gains anything! He's in awesome shape & trains frequently with Paulding Sheriff Deputies & SWAT through Explorers. I'm not trying to kill he kid, I promise! If I buy XL sweatshirts the sleeves are long enough but the shirt is humongous on him in the torso. I can't win.
