A friend of mine lives in Ellijay and has killed two this week. One was in her driveway (it was poisonous, whatever it was) and the other was in her living room when she got home. No idea how it got there. I love snakes. Pet snakes. Wild snakes scare the pee outta me and I never want to find one IN my home.

I've been wanting to do this since Spring but was waiting for it to cool down some. I want to go here in a few weeks.

Yup - all of my windows are open and I'm cleaning as well. I think this weather makes me want to clean because that's what mom used to do - open the doors and windows, turn on the music, and clean like crazy while I laid on my bed and read books. Guess what mini-me is doing? Yep. Laying on her bed reading books. -
I have zero problem with you calling the news regarding cake fights. I'm fully dressed and purely a spectator.

I wouldn't bet against it being the hoodlums from the apartments across the street. While some of the kids over there are great, the majority of them are pretty much let loose. I can't tell you how many groups of them walk across 278 over to the bowling alley, Ingles, Huddle House, etc. all hours of the night now that there are cross walks in. There was a group of maybe eight or nine teenagers walking on 278 at, like, 11pm a couple of nights ago - went right into the complex. My momma would never have let me out at 11pm on a school night at that age, much less walking through Dallas i

I so adore you.

There's definitely more than one hotel on Tybee. Ocean Beach is the one right behind board walk that is the HUGE hotel, and Marlin Monroe's (a restaurant with AMAZING fish tacos) is located inside of Beachside Colony. There are several in between the two and on the opposite side of the road. http://tybeeisland.com/tybee-lodging/hotels-motels/ CreativeOne is right, though, about going with a private rental. You'll probably find one much nicer for around the same price as a hotel without 'extras'. Some of the hotel rooms don't even have a fridge. I normally use www.vrbo.com when I'm

I know! I love Meadow June Clover and he about had a heart attack. His second name choice for a boy was Johnny River, so I don't even want to hear it from him. Waylon Dean was thrown around a few times, too. Not sure what it is with him and old musicians. I know, I saw that last night and called SO in tears. Gotta love pregnancy hormones. So sad, and the similar name gave it an extra 'umph' in the hitting home department.

I thought it was awesome. I've had my toes 'done'...once. Ever. And the company was hilarious. The little one wants hers done again, so we may do that soon. I have issues paying somebody $20+ to wash my feet, talk in another language, and paint my toes.

I've always wanted to be Rogue from X-Men or Silk Spectre from The Watchmen graphic novel. I LOVED Anna Paquin as Rogue in the movies, but wasn't a big fan of Silk Spectre in the movie version of The Watchmen.

Awww, I love it! We've had ours picked out since before we even got pregnant: Jackson Cash Thomas and Meadow June - we still haven't picked a third name if it's a girl. I insisted that, if he insists on naming our son after Johnny Cash, that we toss in Thomas for my dad, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He agreed, but only on the terms that we pick two middle names for each of our children from now on. He picked June, too, after June Carter Cash of course. I keep trying for Meadow Clover since she's due March 17th, but he just calls me a hippie and laughs at me. Poor boy is going

Awesome. I'll make a few phone calls before I go to bed and let my friends know to keep a look out for him. Does anybody have a flyer they can email me?

I can't imagine. If this one is a boy, I'll have my own little Jackson Cash in March, and I can't imagine losing him/her just two months later. So little time. My heart goes out to the family of this little one. ♥ ♥

This whole thread is insane. None of this speculation is ANY of our business. Good grief. All she asked us to do was spread the word and keep a look-out. Now, in regard to what HWAM posted about him moving to Orlando to go to school, does anybody know if he's at the motorcycle school (Motorcycle Maintenance Institute at UTI) or University of Central Florida? I know several people at both, so there's a productive reason for me asking.

Curious: How did YOU tell your kids

Perfect!!! Only I'll have to come up with another analogy because she refuses to get back on the bike. Football! That'll work. You may get your tush kicked or get tackled, but you get back in there because you love it. I heart you LPPT. -

I can allllways give you the opportunity. Guess I'm just going to have to suck it up and hope she doesn't freak out. My only worry about it all is that she's going to be scared to death of mommy having the baby because it'll hurt. She'll know it hurts, big baby/little tunnel - she's a smart kid. She's also very, very, very protective of me. Tampons alone concern her - she gets the cycle, she gets what it's for, she worries to death that I'm going to hurt myself. Such a mama's girl. -

 Ooooh, thank you! Actually, she hasn't. I might want to try that. The bolded part is illegal in Georgia. -

She came to me and said 'So, what DOES the stork do with his penis?' So yeah. She got the full-on penis and vagina explanation. Grown men and women, no storks. She declared immediately that it was 'bescusting' and she was going to marry a girl. More power to ya kid. First thing she did after her initial excitement of me being pregnant was look at SO, make a horrid face, and say 'Oh...so gross!' and run out of the room. Never seen a grown man blush quite like that. -
I ordered a few books today to hopefully help the kiddo, but she's asking fifteen thousand questions and I'm scared to answer most of them. She knows how babies are made. That conversation happened last year. Now she wants to know how they're born. She's so protective of me that, when she flipped out and asked if I was going to be cut open, I said 'Noooo baby, nobody is going to cut mommy'. 'Oh, good! Well then how?' Oops. Somebody suggested I show her the Miracle of Life video, but I'm pretty sure that ending will have her fearing for mommy's life. She won't even let me get

If you had 3 wishes what would they be?

1) That I had more time. 2) More energy. Pregnancy has drained me, and I'm used to being the energizer bunny. My daughter misses my energy, and that bugs me. 3) A cure for HIV/AIDS. Like, yesterday. -
I had BCBS through the state and absolutely loved it...until the state cut-backs went into effect and our part of the premium was increased. I didn't pay anywhere near $800 a month, but $500 a month wasn't doable for being a single mom at the time. I dropped my insurance through KSU and picked it up through my part-time company, who basically just has an insurance agent who hooks us up with the best deal. Much, much cheaper. Wound up working out in the end, because I went full-time with my at-home business and no longer work for the state anyway, so I didn't have to deal with insurance mess.

I'm a good five to seven years older than the 'normal' college student...I don't get to participate in all the fun with the 'younger' crowd.

Loss of short/long term memory ....

Oh, it was definitely my fault. There's a warning on birth control against smoking for a reason. -
I did play. Then I realized I was spending more time on WoW than on my coursework and dropped my membership. I miss it. I didn't lose HOPE, don't live in my parent's basement, and have never slept in class...but I went from Dean's List to President's List when I moved WoW time to studying time.

Loss of short/long term memory ....
lilgallowsmama replied to gadawgschik07's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I had a stroke when I was 21 and have had some serious short-term memory loss problems since then. My doctors said that, on top of taking extra vitamins, I should do 'brain teasers' to keep my brain firing the way it should. I have a whole stack of sudoku, word find, logic puzzle, and brain teaser books. It really does help - when I put them down for a month or so I can tell I'm starting to slow down and forget things more often. Talk to your doctor, first of all, because memory loss at 23 is odd - and try some brain teasers. They sell the books at most grocery and book stores. I started o
