Low standards usually get an equally low result. You only get as good as you accept.

It is beyond ridiculous (and unreasonable) for anyone in a position of authority or leadership to break the rules/laws the average citizen is expected to observe/obey. We have seen what happens in families where the parents set a poor example for the children or businesses where corruption and a lack of work ethics filters down from owners and managers through the ranks - so why do we expect a better result when our leaders set an equally poor example, especially when those who write and enforce the law show no regard for it themselves?

Why are pork and beef prices so convoluted now ?
rednekkhikkchikk replied to surepip's topic in RECENT TOPICS
^^^This gets my vote. Prices seem to be set today based on what is popular rather than the actual underlying economics. This is why I don't go for whatever is 'trending' at any given time - Including use of the word trending -

Cop Makes Woman Sit In Hot Car To See How Her Dog Felt
rednekkhikkchikk replied to TJB's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Does an officer not have the authority to direct someone to sit in their vehicle while he writes a citation? They sure don't like it if you try to exit during a traffic stop. I think if they can tell you to stay in your car, or stand at the back of a patrol car or other specific place, they should be able to ask you to sit back down in your own car while you are ticketed. Otherwise, seems to me it would be unmanageable (and dangerous) for a cop to deal with people in any situation if they can't direct a person's movements until they are sent on their merry way...all this I guess to simply -
PCSO 39 IPADS taken from Dallas Highway Walmart April 10
rednekkhikkchikk replied to gpatt0n's topic in Fastread page
No way they did this without some help - at the very least someone unlocked the case in electronics for them ahead of their arrival...or went ahead and removed the tablets and stashed them somewhere...and have you ever tried to open and close a file cabinet drawer (or move one around) without making a racket? Nearly impossible. -
This is exactly why I have never tried to keep any kind of feeder or birdbath, because I know I will get busy and forget...

Guess I'm still one of the few who think computers have created far more problems than they've solved and don't think they are more capable of or should be doing all our work for us. Good enough is fine with me, and always has been.

What are your thoughts about what was done to this cat?
rednekkhikkchikk replied to Hooray's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Oh yeah. I was attacked by my own cat. If you think cat scratches are bad, let one bite you with its dirty little teeth. I agree, this woman has serious issues (not the least of which is arrogance) -
I have a shelf unit that can be used for storage (it has doors over the end shelves) and a dresser I will gladly let them have, and possibly a chest of drawers also. The dresser doesn't look like much but it is a solid piece of furniture that serves its purpose.

Maybe some attention should be paid to the correlation between the increase in the number of incidents involving airplanes (crashes/near misses, etc) and heavier reliance on auto pilot before we go and let the cars do all the driving for us...

Nathan Deal to journalists: We don’t need you anymore
rednekkhikkchikk replied to Brian's topic in RECENT TOPICS
IF they even have a credit card.... I can't stand Nathan Deal. -
I don't think ducks would fare very well at my house. No water, just a big ol mountain.

Yep. Glad I waited, hate it when my seeds all get washed away. All this 'unmentionable stuff' is going to make for a terrible mosquito season.

Glad your lovely bookcase found a good home!

Guess it's a good thing mine was moved to the backyard some years ago. It used to be at the corner of the front yard, sitting right on the property line ...

Mail in the Newspaper bin at the Library, WHY?
rednekkhikkchikk replied to Mrs G's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Well....once I think a piece of my mail (or possibly several) got mixed up with some newspaper I was dropping off and I didn't realize it until I had thrown it into the bin and wasn't able to retrieve it - but the bin was pretty much empty and there was no way I could reach it. -
Do you travel on Hwy 278 between............

Sounds like whales singing to me. -
Hate to break this to you, but you and your ego don't add up to 'many'.

And you might be the king of overstatement - the internet isn't confined to Paulding.com. And the revenue is supposedly dedicated to funding trauma centers, according to a statement I read quoting a sponsor of the legislation

Sleep paralysis is pretty unsettling, too. Have experienced both -thankfully not at the same time.
