I Think The Paulding County Sheriff Has A Good Idea.
rednekkhikkchikk replied to Eddie Bennett's topic in RECENT TOPICS
We'll see how much the crime rate drops as a result of this good idea. -
Because you were the one who made the statement that nothing he does is political my question was directed to you. If you don't want to or can't answer, simply say so. If I want to ask Sheriff Gulledge a question, I surely know where to find him. By the way - anyone who holds a government job, especially those in elected positions, must deal with politics at one time or another, even if that means nothing more than biting their tongue when they know their stance will do them more harm than good. I would venture to say the office of sheriff is not immune.

First let me say I have known Gary since we were kids and was proud when he became the sheriff of Paulding County, and I have no particular beef with him. I just can't figure out what this is expected to accomplish; there are so many more important things on which they could focus. These actions usually seem to me to antagonize certain groups rather than bring people together. Do we not already have enough controversy as it is? Then what do you think they hope to accomplish in doing this if not either to appeal to or antagonize certain groups of people? It isn't going to do anythin

What's the smell in the air this time of year?
rednekkhikkchikk replied to lyball's topic in Paulding County NEWS
Lucky you. I live next to a guy who processes deer - all I smell during hunting season is dead animals. -
I think rather than leave I would have just gone to the front and hung out with the employees for awhile. If he followed her to a store why would she not think he would follow her to a car and/or to her home or other destination?

The KY clerk who won't issue marriage licenses
rednekkhikkchikk replied to stercus tauri's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Work is not the place to "practice religion". Work is a place to do your job. You can "practice religion" during your off hours at home and at church. She has caused an unnecessary problem and brought yet another needless case to clog up the court system, again, at taxpayer expense. -
The KY clerk who won't issue marriage licenses

She does not have the right to collect a paycheck funded by taxpayers while she refuses to perform a function of her duties for certain of those taxpayers. She is providing a license, not performing the marriage ceremony. -

Well it's too bad I can't 'like' the PS part of that post, because I would. I can't believe people who traditionally denigrate anyone who doesn't -work/earn their keep and/or is reliant on taxpayers to provide for them- have made this woman famous for NOT doing a job she is paid <handsomely> to do, and with taxpayer money no less. Am I the only one who sees a double standard here? -
I don't expect anything to ever change at my house - the people who let their dogs roam have lived there for several generations, while I have been there a 'mere' 26 years. I can pick it up and fling it back into their yard as long as they can sit and watch their dogs crap in mine though
-
Yep, I take a shovel and return all the nasty crap I find in my yard to my neighbors. Most everybody in my 'hood (except me) lets their dogs roam loose - I am sure all of it doesn't come from the neighbor's two very large dogs, but the fact that the owners sit and watch their dogs do it makes them especially deserving, in my opinion. **The reason they all go in your yard is because they all go in your yard, if that makes sense. Dogs tend to go where others have previously gone...

Too bad she is so devout that she doesn't seem to understand the way into heaven isn't running interference for other people's sins. Yeah, she hasn't done a whole lot to promote the institution of marriage herself, has she? Maybe she doesn't know what 'asunder' means... She better watch herself - in the new wild west we live in it isn't necessarily wise to repeatedly antagonize people. -
Sometimes I just wonder who this person is.....

So wonder if the husband is ok? Hers, not yours. Yours seems to be just fine -
What is to be gained by labeling or categorizing such crimes or people or any number of other things that are too complex to be put into this column or that? Other than an argument, that is...

That's easy to say unless you have children and then develop some medical condition that screws around with your memory such as a brain tumor, MS, underactive thyroid or other hormonal imbalance/disorder, extreme depression or anxiety or other possible mental illness, to name a few. For that matter certain anti-depressants and anti-anxiety meds, sleep aids and antihistamines can also impair memory. Even people whose stress levels are very high much of the time or who haven't had enough sleep often can't focus or concentrate as well as they should. Not making excuses for the woman bu

Could we talk about the airport one more time? Factually?
rednekkhikkchikk replied to glassdogs's topic in RECENT TOPICS
As if there is anybody, much less politicians, these days who truly gives a damn about the rights of any individual other than their own... This is off-topic, but I feel the same way about the reservoir - the cost keeps rising, it's been in some stage of planning/acquisition for more than a decade - what is the actual status and how much is the whole project going to cost when it's all said and done? More importantly, why is it not required for ANY expenditure (actual or proposed) of public money to be outlined clearly & factually and available to those who foot the bill if they w -
THE DOG AND PONY SHOW FEATURING DAVID AND JERRY
rednekkhikkchikk replied to WHITEY's topic in RECENT TOPICS
First of all, no federal or state money is free. It is little more than use of part of the taxes we already paid. While it is better than seeing none of it, please stop calling it FREE. That is political talk, which is almost always a twisting of factual statements to make them play better to whatever audience is entertaining the speaker. Nothing is free. -

Nope, neither do I. I think Lee May's response was pretty lame - (paraphrasing) 'we'll expect details in the final report' 'we don't want to hear any more until the final report, which should include details of the allegations of wrongdoing' 'I don't believe the allegations, but expect the final report to contain details to support these allegations'. The investigators' preliminary report clearly stated they would withhold details until the FINAL REPORT. May's refusal to consider the possibility of criminal conduct is ridiculous and with nothing more to say he should have just waited u
