  1. The three most common reasons for a slow computer that I encounter are: 1. Not enough memory. 2. Virus or Spyware infection. 3. An install of Windows that is old. (Windows slows down after several years of use. Formatting the drive and reinstalling Windows can remedy this condition). I can help with all three of these issues. Give me a call and I can provide a free quote. Mike 404-234-2703
  2. Thanks - I now have coffee all over my monitor.
  3. Good questions SG. I'm sure a minister could perform a ceremony, but there would be no legal benefits or privileges that come with a religious only wedding. No tax benefit, inheritance rules would not apply, no insurance benefits from an employer, etc..
  4. Another question about marriages concerning the state of Alabama: If a man divorces his wife, are they still considered brother and sister?
  5. Your link was an interesting read. No longer a need for a blood test, no common law marriages, and you can still marry your cousin.
  6. Our unions now have a monthly salary target price to work towards. $169 per month per employee or 97 cents per hour (and that's after a generous 30% raise for the Chinese workers). Hopefully they will be able to negotiate for factory dormitories and the installation of safety nets as well. http://news.yahoo.co...n_china_foxconn
  7. If you don't want to be a winner anymore let's try doing scans with the following programs: 1. Your Anti-Virus 2. Malwarebytes - you can get it at malwarebytes.org (get the free version). 3. Spybot - safer-networking.org (it's free) Let us know if this does or does not work. If you you have any questions, feel free to give me a call. Thanks for the recommendation Mrs.G.
  8. This is a no-brainer imo. Has Sonny indicated that he will not sign it?
  9. If all of our citizens were that upstanding there would be no crime and all of the judges and policemen would be out of work. There are people that will do anything to survive, even if it means some innocent person dies.
  10. In some cases, yes. The most extreme example would be if a country allowed people to be born and bred for the harvesting of their vital organs. I do not believe that consumers demand should dictate this practice.
  11. This philosophy is very dangerous. Some Americans (and other people in the world) could care less about how people are treated.
  12. Ugh. Call Clark Howard's Consumer Action Center at 404-892-8227. This number is staffed by volunteers from 10am to 7pm.
  13. One area that we need to address is government regulations. We need to require that foreign businesses have similar regulations to ours or adjust ours to be similar to theirs. Having two different standards makes it impossible to compete.
  14. Logitech keyboard made in China. Microsoft mouse made in China. Another question: How many have lost a job due to outsourcing? I am one.
  15. I gave you a +, so you are back to 0 now.
  16. This is one reason I do not like custom built computers. Your unique combination of hardware may produce a problem that is seldom seen compared with a computer that is mass produced. I would take it back to the guy that built it. He should provide support for free since the updates should have been done before delivery. If that's not an option, I would make sure you have the latest drivers for all hardware or if you have the latest, maybe try a previous version. Another option would be to install the updates one at a time to see which one causes the problem.
  17. I think MCMM wants to know about subscription services such as Rhapsody or Napster. I have had some clients that used Rhapsody and seemed happy with it. I do not have experience with either service.
  18. The first decision is Mac or PC. This decision should be driven by the program of study and the college. Some colleges may have a preference for one or the other, so you should check with them. I really like the Mac, but the cost is about twice as much as you could pay for a similarly equipped PC. With a Mac, you do not have to worry about viruses (at least for now). If you go with a PC, I think Dell is hard to beat. If being able to contact a Dell rep that speaks english is important, you can buy a higher end laptop and pay extra for the premium support. The reality is that all PC makers
  19. Don't forget about the poor plums that were turned into prunes.
  20. This is exactly why we need a looser pays law. I can't see how a jury of sane people could ever find in her favor.
  21. The only way to know for sure that there are no bad guys on your computer is to wipe the system. If you do scans with multiple products as NE suggested and come up completely clean, I would question whether or not you are actually infected. It may be that someone from one of the companies you made a purchase from swiped your number.
  22. How about a cocktail of Pepto Bismol, Kaopectate and Imodium.
