Well then I guess it was either a FedEx rep or she was just feeding them BS.Anyway, which ever entity is responsible for the decision on having unarmed guards is absolutely absurd. Why have security measures at all? It's pointless. Anyone who has knowledge that these facilities have unarmed security guards, such as a disgruntled employee, is gonna know they will have no problem going in to the place shooting it up like Rambo. I hope they seriously consider changing their policy after this. Of course that's not gonna help Chris or any of the other injured at this point.

This absolutely infuriates me! Every one of Chris's friends and family are outraged that he was unarmed. My brother told me that yesterday after the incident the hospital was flooded with representatives from Allied Barton, which is the security company that Chris is contracted thru. My brother went up to one of them to ask why they were unarmed and said he had a question to ask. Before he could get it out, Chris's brother-in-law yelled 'Why the F&@K didn't he have a gun!?!?!', to which she mumbled some kinda BS about it being part of their policy, yada yada yada. Excuse me!?!?! A se

Christopher Sparkman is my brother's best friend. My grandfather who passed away on Thursday, his funeral was this morning. My brother got a call at about 6 a.m. this morning saying Chris had been shot. Unfortunately my brother missed my grandfather's funeral (don't worry, he had my mom's blessing), to be at his best friend's side during this unfortunate event. My brother had to drive his wife to the hospital as she was too distraught. He sustained a gunshot wound from a shotgun with a birdshot shell to the side of his lower abdomen that was considered a life threatening injury. He had in

Yeah I'm in the same boat. The key is to not have small 'distractions' running around that take up all your time. If it wasn't for trying to fix everything they destroy then maybe I might have time to try this. I'm guessing it will be about 10 years before I can.

Awww, thanks guys, it's good to know I'm cared for around here. I have been around just not posting a lot. A few weeks ago we actually took a Disney Vacation, which was fun but a very busy and challenging trip. But in the midst of all that both my dad and my husband's father have been going thru some medical issues lately. I'll try to come around a little more often. Wait a minute you're not on my Facebook mister. Are you stalking me? Why don't you send over a request dummy?!
-
Had a lot going on lately, but I've tried to check in every now and then. I've missed the Pcom peeps as well. Thanks and I hope I'm better soon too.

Just today I started feeling bad. But only fever, VERY VERY achy, and chills. But those are only symptoms. No nausea, no congestion, no sore throat, no coughing, no diarrhea, appetite okay. I'm so achy I feel like I've been hit by a bus and don't feel like doing anything but lying on the couch. I hope it doesn't get any worse. I too was wondering if something was going around.

I'm pretty sure it's a hairless raccoon.

I need clarification on the Republican stance on an issue
NinaBritt replied to LPPT's topic in RECENT TOPICS
You bring up a good point Jamie. I wouldn't be able to give a Republican stance on governments place in private sector job creation because I don't affiliate with either party. But one thing I have noticed is that a more conservative local government seems to give more incentives to small businesses or new businesses to come to their community while a more democratic local government cares more about taxing and regulating them to try to get as much profit as they can from them to 'improve' their government. And I guess your perception on how involved our government, both locally and federal -
First, let me start by saying I never considered myself a strong advocate for the legalization of marijuana, but I definitely was not against it. This particular instance really hits home for me because I have epilepsy. Mine is a very mild form and not as severe as this young girls. If it can help the quality of life for a child, I can absolutely get behind this 150%. This really touched me. The video is long, but worth it. Please check it out. http://www.upworthy.com/think-marijuana-is-for-stoners-meet-a-6-year-old-girl-who-might-just-disagree-with-you-on-that?g=2&c=ufb1

Code Red messages about the new hospital ER
NinaBritt replied to tranquility's topic in Paulding County NEWS
I've heard it doesn't have maternity services. Call me crazy but I consider a full service hospital one that includes maternity as well. Guess us ladies will still have to trek on over to Kennestone or the others to push one out. Can someone else confirm this? Or did I hear wrong? -
Sounds like the work of disgruntled anti airporters.

The winter killed off many well established plants unfortunately. We got a few dead ones too.

Haaa! Great analogy.
