  1. She could most likely get BC for free from a health clinic. Why should it be an employer's responsibility to provide insurance that covers BC? That is the point I think most are missing with this new SCOTUS ruling. And yes it would be better for her to get BC rather than another child.
  2. No this decision does not set a bad precedent. I hope this decision stresses the importance that private companies should not be forced, especially by the federal government, to provide anything beyond income to their employees. PERIOD.
  3. Happy Birthday Thad! I hope you continue to improve. Continued prayers for you and your family.
  4. No, she should stop having sex to avoid unwanted pregnancies. Why is this concept so hard for some people?
  5. If preventing preganancy is vitally important for Mary Jo Smith, I have 3 solutions for her: 1) go to the local health clinic and pick up multiple forms of birth control for FREE. 2) don't work for Hobby Lobby 3) DON'T FRIGGEN HAVE SEX!
  6. Wow! If I was a Hobby Lobby employee I think I would fear for my life. That's just sad.
  7. Happy Birthday Caped Crusader! June babies are the best! (I would know)
  8. Just saw this. Prayers for Thad and his family. I know all too well what they're going thru as I had a similar experience with my dad not too long ago. You guys will be in my thoughts and I hope for a quick healing and easy recovery.
  9. Wow, that is unusual. Very sad situation.
  10. Are you sure she was pregnant? I looked at both the links in this thread and couldn't find any mention of it. Plus, she was 53.
  11. Another thing going on this weekend is the Star Spangled Spectacular at KSU. An outdoor concert and fireworks. We plan on going and I hope we don't run into too much traffic. Sounds like it's going to be a busy weekend around metro-Atlanta. http://www.kennesaw.edu/arts/starspangledksu/
  12. I find it interesting that they chose to use that particular sentence in his obituary. JMO RIP Cooper.
  13. I'm going with the latter. Actually it's not uncommon for a 2 year old to still be in rear facing seats nowadays. A few years ago the American Academy of Pediatrics recommended that all children should ride in a rear facing car seat at least until the age of two. Keep in mind that's just what they RECOMMEND. However I believe the law in GA is that the minimum requirement to switch to front facing is that they have to be both at least one year and 25 pounds. I switched my son at 18 months. I think the 2 year thing is a bit much and don't necessarily agree with it.
  14. So lets say he genuinely did forget him. Then he goes back to his car at lunch time (as news reports have stated), sees his child in the car most likely coming to the conclusion that he is dead, then goes back to the office and does his google search? Then when he leaves work stops somewhere to make a scene so it appears to be a tragic accident? Even under this warped scenario he would still be an idiot for not calling police at the initial discovery of the child left in the car. Certainly a possibility, but highly doubtful at this point.
  15. The media says the police are still trying to find out what the motive could have been. I would be very interested to know. I cannot whatsoever for the life of me even begin to comprehend why someone would want to intentionally cause life threatening harm to an innocent helpless child. Such a person certainly possesses evil in their heart.
  16. My thoughts are with you and your husband.
  17. Wow, I can't bieve this. I do remember her thread about her going to the ER for chest pains. I mever met her either but had heard of the struggles in her life as well. It's so sad to hear this, but at least she is no longer suffering. RIP Spunkywoman
  18. Should I be worried that this is actually not shocking to me? The things people will do. SMH
  19. All of the above for Surepip! Here's hoping for a speedy recovery.
  20. What's going on around the 278 and 120 intersection? I was headed east on 278 and traffic slammed on brakes in front of the Palisades subdivision, Before you get to new hospital. Anyone know what's going on? I decided to turn around instead of going through that mess.
  21. There's gotta be something wrong with the Cobb County DA when you hear of these two seperate instances. What are they smoking over there?
  22. I agree that felony murder is a bit much. I definitely don't think they will be able to get him on that charge. Something like child endangerment or neglect maybe, but not felony murder. I would never be able to live with myself either.
  23. This is just so sad. Hearing of this too often. Sounds like it was accident on the father's part. I'm sure he's devastated. http://www.wsbtv.com/news/news/local/father-who-left-child-hot-car-charged-murder/ngNzp/?nmredir=true COBB COUNTY, Ga. The man who is accused of leaving his child in a hot car has been charged with murder. Justin Ross Harris, 33, was charged with felony murder and cruelty to children in the first degree. He is being held at the Cobb County Jail with no bond Thursday. According to Cobb County police, Harris was supposed to take his 22-month-old to day care
  24. This is not only heartbreaking but also quite disturbing as well. I hope to see great improvements within this broken system. I get tired of hearing of these cases that seem to slip through the cracks. RIP dear child.
