That is the sad part (embolden above). That I understand is your understanding and because the courts are not followed by the press, the lawyers and the court, when presented with a couple of which both are more emotionally hyped and not thinking straight, become the victims of their emotions with the lawyers being the beneficiaries. The really sad part is that it takes both parties to the conflict knowing they are being gamed and to come to an amicable resolution to stop the madness. Since each party, by engaging an attorney, is engaging in an adversarial conflict with agents whose

I happened across this article about the RAVE act, introduced by Joe Biden back in the early 2000s. Basically it made knowledge of drug use at RAVE music gathering by the promoters a criminal offense with jail time and massive fines. The first few prosecutions used circumstantial evidence - the presence of "free water", providing 'cool down rooms' and even independent groups to test the ecstasy that ravers want to take for adulteration - so now promoters are in abject denial of the need for such things where hundreds to thousands of people are taking the drug ... and the bodies are beginnin

I think a thorough search of court records would show that the person who video'd the cop parked in the fire lane and was chastised by the officer got charges dropped and more. pubby

Is that a threat? They are definitely gun culture people as are a large portion of the Texas populace. I remember visiting some friends of a friend in Texas once and they were playing with long swords, pistols and stuff and talking trash as they consumed mass quantities of beer, etc. Not being a part of that guns and violence culture ... I didn't feel comfortable because of the casual way that they were interacting with a weapons including some interpersonal challenges that were some sort of male pecking order trip played with deadly weapons. No one died -at least on that day -

The pictures tell a different story, actually. On the left is B. Obama; obviously a modern man in the 21st century with an ultra-light carbon composite bicycle with probably twenty speeds and proper and prudent protection, not only from an occasional mishap but with clothing protecting the mans skin from the ultra-violet rays of the sun. On the right is Vlad Putin, riding his 19th century conveyance, his bald head, back and poochy stomach sucking up the UV rays like they didn't exist because they weren't even discovered until the 19th century. The manner, tactics and strategies of e

Tabby: Maybe you can answer. I saw a report that said five people, including an eight-year old boy, lived in the home. Obviously that youth was not in the home ... Are the neighbors talking about him or is his existence an error in the media? pubby

The identities are: Paulding County Sheriff's Deputy Sam Driskell, 52, his wife, 36-year-old Muachin Driskell, his stepson Felix Almonte, age 21, and his 12-year-old daughter, Carolyn were found dead in their home today after Driskell, who was expected in court, failed to appear. The SO performed a wellness check and found the bodies. The four apparently all died of apparent gunshot wounds the sheriff told the press at the 5 p.m. press conference . (Photo: Paulding County Sheriff's Office) CPL Sam Driskell was found dead today (Jan. 6, 2015). Investigators say that it appeared th

Here is the report from Channel 2 earlier today: Sheriff Gulledge just completed his statement to the press and we will include those remarks. I heard it through a phone and it seems the PCSO Deputy was killed by his step son who also killed his wife (mother) and a sibling (12 year old girl). There is no motive known at this time. pubby

They've called a 5 p.m. news conference at the site according to an email received from the SO. The news conference will be at the scene. pubby PS: I merged the "what's happening on Ridge Road topic with this one with the title "Bodies found on Ridge Road."

No, I just read a couple of stories about the man/woman and noted they are doing the right thing in going to court to remove the gag order placed on grand jurors. I think that the public story told by that DA was a spin job. The question I have and have not had answered and note that there is some eyewitness testimony that corroborates it is that the "attack" may have been a desperate attempt at self-defense; which would be justifiable. I am not saying that Wilson is guilty ... but I am having a hard time figuring out why a guy who is booking it as fast as he can and has put 50 yard

There is possible evidence on social media (it would have to be verified before it would admissible in court) that allegedly shows the younger kid (Trent Lee Jacobs) had easy access to guns. The video, a short loop on vine, appears to show him holding a chome-plated 45 and also an assault rifle with a 100 round magazine. The kids presentation on the video would be considered prejudicial in my opinion largely because it primarily shows the cultural perception of a wide swath of today's kids (rapping with a gun.) In reality it would be equivalent to a youngster of my generation putting a

Who says so? That frankly is a common perception but so was/is the notion that women are supposed to be barefoot and pregnant; kids are the be seen and not heard; and - in deference to sensibilities __________________________(fill-in the blank with race, sexual preference, ethnicity) are ________________ (multiple choice: Lazy, ignorant, stupid, smelly, short, big-nosed, big-browed, slow, shuffling, evil, bad, promiscuous, sinful, or other colorful alternative.) The point being is that the idea the Internet is for slamming others anonymously is an opinion - not saying it is yours Text

Hey, it is absurd that the DA spoke for the grand jury given the amount of time he spent in front of it, what he put in front of it and depending on the secrecy of the proceedings to make it impossible to say - no, that is not what we saw or that is not how it was presented. That is the reason the juror is suing to allow him/her to speak and clarify the size of the load the DA dumped on him/her and the rest of us. pubby PS: A football team might win a game without cheating but those who like to home-cook things cheat anyway because they can't countenance a loss. Government is li

That is absurd. I'm much more interested in hearing the grand juror's thoughts than the prosecutor - who only met cursively with the grand jury (most presentation was by underlings) - and certainly your reading as based on the DA's obviously misguided bloviation. pubby

LPPT: They can own a rifle or shotgun. I've heard the NRA is lobbying to extend gun ownership laws so that youths, even toddlers, can own handguns legally. Of course there are those who disagree and have come up with some ad campaigns that are clever: pubby PS: I hope no one really is banning "Little Red Riding Hood" ... If they are, that is to me that is a more serious violation of the constitution.

A couple of things. The SO put out a release on this. The three things that stood out are that this apparently happened during the middle of the day Dec. 31st. The body was found about 3:00 p.m. and we can assume the shooting was in the hours before (not the night before.) The second thing from the release is that the two are being housed in juvenile facilities; one in Rome and another in Marietta. (Our juvenile facility having been closed because of apparent rampant sexual abuse by both inmates and staff.) The third is where the gun the youths used came from. I'm told by t

We're pretty much at the mercy of the folks at Invision Power Board for the function set of the board. We had adapted their moderation system to include bullets (plus points) and mayberries (negative points which were good.) However, the board makers apparently were lobbied by other communities to change the system and they updated it to show only warning points. Notably the moderation system automatically imposes predetermined penalties for specific warning points issued but also has a function to age the warnings off. It is definitely both different and more sophisticated that what

DVP: While writing is an act and writing about specific acts - action plans - are or can be evidence, I wouldn't imagine that the act of ghost writing itself is or could be a culpable act. I say that because being a mastermind of a criminal conspiracy and setting that plan to paper is a criminal act and the writing of the plan is secondary to planning and execution. That is the logic (I believe) that the RICO law uses to allow the civil and criminal courts to pierce client confidentiality ... i.e. pointing to the actions of slick attorneys to direct illegal actions on behalf of their

I saw this. I'd suggested - much to the dismay of many here - that Fox-meistered meme that there were folks claiming people were yelling to kill the cops was bogus. I don't imagine these folks will even so much as acknowledge the gross invention of the 'kill the cops' meme much less apologize for their rebukes for those who expressed doubt. pubby
