Gosh, Whitey; I think we need to tear up all the roads out there. All they do is cost the taxpayer money to maintain and only the worst ones - you know where they make you stop and throw in a quarter - ever seem to pay for themselves. Bah humbug. pubby -

I told you, you'd understand and probably agree with what I was going to say. To answer your ????? ... The same way the Paulding County Hospital Board - it is still in existence - runs the new 400 million dollar state of the art Paulding Hospital. You sign a contract with someone you think can do the job, sit back and let them do the job. It is one of those good conservative ideas embraced by both conservatives and liberals called privatization. That is also largely what the AA did when they signed their lease contract with Propeller ... they privatized the running of the airport -

Basically Mojo, I said that I understood improving public participation but I didn't see venting as public participation. Instead, public participation means public involvement in the decisions being made when those decisions are actually being made. What I've seen happen too often is that something is proposed at 10 am, and made an ordinance at 2 p.m. What I said is that those decisions were made long before the 10 am meeting and as a speaker, you are not going to change anyone's mind about an issue between 10 am and 2 p.m. Instead, if you want public participation - and I -

Usually, I get jokes ... I didn't get this one. I do, however, think of terms like buckwheat, hick, red neck, etc. which are common draw their popularity because of their pejorative value. I know that conservatives, in particular, like to use such terms and we've seen that with the names offered by folks like GWB ... In fact here is a list: People apt to do this are also apt to call women with whom they with casually "honey or hun, sweetness, legs, that broad, hey you ... and men things like captain, slick, bud, red neck, etc. It is partly either laziness or the

The Thorium Conspiracy Published on Jan 25, 2013 According to numerous sources, there's an alternative to uranium. Though thorium isn't perfect, it's more plentiful and arguably safer than uranium. So why aren't we using it? Click for RECENT TOPICS click for RECENT TOPICS click for RECENT TOPICS

GE Magnetic Refrigeration: How it Works Published on Feb 7, 2014 GE researchers describe how they built their breakthrough magnetic refrigeration system. The technology, which is projected to be 20 percent more efficient than current refrigeration systems, could be inside your fridge by the end of the decade. It is using water based fluid to transfer heat, not chemical refrigerants. That significantly lowers any harm to the environment and makes the recycling of old refrigerators simpler. "This is a big deal," says Venkat Venkatakrishnan, a leader of the research team. "We are on

Paulding County attorney faces cruelty to animal charges
gpatt0n replied to LPPT's topic in Paulding County NEWS
Never met the guy in my life. I'm actually judging the PCSO which I don't think is that stupid. Maybe they are ... (more below) Absolutely they need water but the fact that they had no water when they were found doesn't mean there wasn't water available to begin. It could well be the guy could be guilty of extreme cruelty but then my judgment comes back on the SO for downplaying it with misdemeanor cruelty charges. All I'm doing is reading the charges and assuming that the SO has a reason for not nailing the guy ... like mitigating circumstances. I just don't buy it that they a -

Paulding County attorney faces cruelty to animal charges

As I read the story, he locked them up in the trailer overnight. The big issue was that he wasn't back by the morning to let them out when the sun began shining on the trailer. I'm unclear whether the animals being kept in the trailer overnight in moderate temperatures (60-70 degrees F) would invoke the cruelty charges? Provided the animals were quiet, what is the difference between them in 3x5 foot cages in a vets office overnight and the bunch/family/pack being in an 120 square-foot room (the 8 x 15 trailer) provided they were watered and fed? No one would have complained in the anim -

I think 11Alive deserves an award for that report... Pay attention to this bit here: It may be incidental, but do know that I'll make it a point to avoid the Hyatt Regency Savannah ... and probably other Hyatt Hotels just on the basis of that action. I do suspect that our very own Paulette (What is her name now?) who represents D-19, was in attendance. I think I can embed the video ... I'll try. pubby To play the video reveal the spoiler... 11 alives embed will auto play otherwise. pubby
