  1. You are okay with our county having to defend these lawsuits and obviously using our tax payer money and then not expect full disclosure from the Plaintiffs on who is paying their legal fees?
  2. Maybe they simply thought the Michael Baker group would do a very thorough job.
  3. Game changes when they are responsible for spending my hard earned dollars on our county having to defend itself in these lawsuits.
  4. But then we get back to the matter of "transparency". Why would they do the very same thing they accuse our BOC of? How is that right? They are costing us taxpayers money.
  5. I will wait on the ruling. The thought comes to mind "matter of interpretation". There are countless issues that could possibly come into play here.
  6. Mei lan - from what I understand, it is a difference in interpretation and there are lots of questions. There has been no one that has ruled that it is against any rules. I would bet this is just another scare tactic and is intended to further delay the project. I'm with Lester - who are you guys all going to thank when us taxpayers are footed the bill for this litigation? Once again, "anyone can sue anybody for anything" - doesn't mean there is a legitimate basis and doesn't mean they will be successful.
  7. As always, there are TWO sides to every story: What they don't understand is Michael Baker International, LLC has an extensive background in performing these types of engineering services and have no vested interest in the outcome of the airport's future. http://neighbornewspapers.com/view/full_story/25138113/article-Residents-ask-FAA-to-remove-contractor-doing-environmental-assessment-of-Paulding-airport?instance=all
  8. I had to like your post because it made me laugh! 14 % is not a good turn out, predicted or not.
  9. My Post 1 Commissioner was not up for re-election this year and I do believe that he (Dave Carmichael) is doing a fabulous job and I am very proud to have him representing our District. I am also proud of David Austin and his accomplishments and wish for him continued success. I don't know Vernon Collett or Tony Crowe very well but I certainly wish them luck and hope that now that they have been elected, they will act in the best interests of the citizens of our county "as a whole" - a lot of people are paying attention. We simply have to move forward and look at the "big, overall pic
  10. Congratulations to your son! Congratulations to you too Pubby for making a sacrifice and running for office. Don't be discouraged as even some of the most respected political figures in U. S. History suffered defeat along the way.
  11. Thank you for posting NewsJunky!
  12. It is very confusing. I'm like you, I have the David Barnett / Tony Crowe signs all around me so you would think I am in that District.
  13. Jenilyn - as to proximity, District 1 and District 4 are very close. I live off Mt. Tabor Road; however, I am in District 1 (David Carmichael's district) and that was not an option on the ballot for that district as he is not up for re-election yet. I believe it is a common misconception that the Tony Crowe / David Barnett race (District 4) encompassed all of East Paulding / North Paulding when in fact, it is actually divided between the two districts. It is sort of confusing.
  14. Earnestly praying for your Dad NinaBritt - and for you and your family too! What hospital is he in?
  15. Okay so this is what I think should happen. We need to have a p.com ladies trip to the beach. I have 3 bedrooms and 2 baths in my house in Mexico Beach, FL as well as a large screened in porch for air mattresses and a queen size sofa bed in the living room. Rockysmom can bring her travel trailer there and park on our property and then we can accommodate even more! Who's in? There is a great little karaoke bar down the street and we could all go there and entertain the locals with our vocal abilities (or in my case, lack thereof). Mexico Beach, FL would never be the same.
  16. I have to go back to Houston in a couple of weeks for work gathering. Where is this outlet mall in San Marcos, TX that you speak of? Going to google San Marco's proximity to Houston right now........
  17. You are doing a great job Kim and I very much appreciate your sacrifice as well as all the other board members sacrifices to serve on the Board. You all obviously don't do it for the money, I have no doubt you do it for our community and most importantly, our children. Thank you!
  18. Didn't you get a free "continental breakfast" at the Holiday Inn Express?
  19. I really don't know what to say about this post other than I will say a prayer for you tonight radiohead.
  20. Thank you Nick and the BOE for all you do to efficiently plan for the future of our schools and our children. I very much appreciate you, the BOE and our School System for your dedicated service to our community and its children.
  21. I would have freaked out about the tire but it sounds like you did great! I do admire your courage on driving and pulling a travel trailer - how hard is it to learn to pull one of these? Destin is home to one of my favorite outlet malls, Silver Sands and one of my favorite restaurants, Bistro Bijoux. Did you go to the Village of Baytown Wharf and what did you think about it if you did? Glad you are both back safely and that you had a fun, safe trip!
  22. My thoughts and prayers will be with your Dad and you NinaBritt. I hope and pray he has a successful surgery and a speedy, complete recovery.
  23. Ha - when I put you and my husband in the same boat, well.....that is a good thing!
