Thank you for posting! I think our School Board made excellent choices with these days and I commend them! They have a very tough job and I wouldn't want to be in their shoes in having to make these difficult decisions.

How about Callaway Gardens? It is getting close to Spring and it is beautiful in the Spring. If you don't want to stay in Pine Mountain, there are some beautiful cabins you can rent in Warm Springs. The "Little White House" is in Warm Springs and is very interesting.

They are timeless and I won't hesitate to go see them again. Schmidt is unbelievable and his voice is just about perfect. Every song they performed last night brought back such memories. Any idea how old these guys are now rockysmom? I'm thinking in their early 60's but am not sure.

You are right, you wouldn't be alone. There were so many of us "middle aged" people in the crowd but there were also some older ones and younger ones - a good variety of ages represented. There might still be tickets available for the Atlanta show on Monday night at Phillips - I promise you that you will not be disappointed! How was Timothy B. Schmidt when you met him? I picture him as just a good, down to earth person who just happens to be extremely talented!

Okay......so, they haven't lost it. Not even close. Best.Concert.Ever. I am so impressed that they can still perform so well and that their voices sound just like they always did. It is sort of neat to me to see how the Eagles' and their music have touched generations. My favorites from the concert: Doolin Dalton / Desperado (Reprise), Rocky Mountain Way by Joe Walsh, and Hotel California. They performed every song we wanted them to with the exception of Seven Bridges Road and King of Hollywood. My favorite performers of the night - Timothy B. Schmidt and Joe Walsh. They w

That is very good advice Dana. We have all been there at one time or another - young and inexperienced. I hope that everyone will practice patience with these young drivers and realize they too were in that position at one time in their lives. I remember when my children drove for the first time without us. I sat on the front porch and listened for sirens until my husband very gently brought me inside and told me it would be okay and that they have to grow up. It is such an insecure feeling though when they go out the first few times and as their Mother, anxious feelings are surely ine

This is fascinating! I am having to make myself "step away from the nest cam" - I think I could watch it for hours. -
Ha! I just looked up info. on his character as I have never watched Taxi. Did you eat some of those "funny brownies"?

Wow feelip - I am impressed.

How Come? If you are not for commercialising the Airport

When I am home, I drive through there often. I live on that side of town and it is very convenient for me to shop and dine in Cartersville also. I have also taken the road off of Highway 278 (can't remember the name or number of the road) that runs into Cartersville). I believe it is the one that goes past Pizza Farm. Beautiful, convenient and surprisingly shorter drive than I would think it would be. -
How Come? If you are not for commercialising the Airport

I don't recall your son playing high school baseball with mine. Some of these trips were from high school baseball trips. Obviously with our regular season trips this was not the case; however, in the summer league trips, it very much was the case. Of course there is still the issue of my husband playing college baseball and then playing on a traveling softball team after we were married for several years and then the issue of my 3 brothers heavily involved in sports as well as my nieces and nephews - I certainly feel I have experience enough to form an intelligent opinion as to this discuss -
How Come? If you are not for commercialising the Airport

We drove more often than we took flights. My point to mrshoward is that Paulding County will benefit from the Lake Point Complex as there will sometimes be events in which there will not be enough hotel rooms to house everyone. I absolutely believe that Paulding County will benefit from the Lake Point Sports Complex and I believe it is a win win situation for both areas in that there will be people choosing to fly into Paulding commercially when that becomes an option. I do know that with our teams at least, there were sometimes a few people that drove large vans with our group th -
How Come? If you are not for commercialising the Airport

Actually, it was a combination of both. There were sometimes shuttle buses that would pick us up from the hotels if we had to stay a distance from the actual venue. -

I disagree - it is not absurd. I can speak from many years of personal experience with my own children and my husband and 3 brothers heavily involved in sports and tell you that it is not unusual. There will be many large scale tournaments, events, etc. at facilities like this and it is not unusual at all to have to stay sometimes an hour or more away. -
I don't have a problem with this group or any other group that is formed to attempt to keep Georgia politics "in check". I'm quite sure though that this group's goal is not just to protect the interests of only Whitey, tundra, mojo, etc, I'm sure they are looking out for all of us citizens of Georgia and are looking at the "big picture" for the entire state of Georgia. When you open the tab that you refer to above, it contains links to several statewide issues and the ones relating to the airport expansion are simply articles that appear to be submitted by contributors (which could be mos

Whitey - from what I understand (and I could be wrong), you retired from General Motors. I know a lot of good people that have worked for GM and respect the ones who have worked there and I know they worked very hard. I have worked in the legal field for over 30 years and I will be the first one to tell you that I am not an expert on this subject; however, I have done some research and it has all indicated that the airport and the commercialization of the airport will have significant positive economic impacts on a community and will bring in jobs. Not only does it appear that it

Thanks for posting Sports Source! We have some many reasons to be proud of our community!

I agree. Heck - "some" of these Republicans are making me re-think my political affiliation.
-
I agree rockysmom. Hope everyone has a good night!
-
So it is okay for you ignore the recession as to delaying the economic impact of the airport but it is okay for you to use the recession as a reason for not paying property taxes in a timely manner? Got it.
-
Paying your taxes in a timely manner and inappropriate sexual behavior toward a child are two completely different issues. If you don't have enough sense to figure that out, I can't help you.
-
I will be glad to clue you in. I confided in a very personal conversation with Tundra years ago that involved the VERY INAPPROPRIATE behavior toward a person very near and dear to me of a distant family member (thankfully, not blood related). She evidently has chosen to make that conversation "public" and that is fine. I was having a very hard time struggling with this issue as the statute of limitations had passed and there wasn't really anything we could do. I confided in her after having coffee one morning with her that I was really struggling as I truly don't understand how any adu

Oh I'm sure you had an interesting conversation. I am very sure she would be happy to hear what you had to say......: And P. S. - it is all a "matter of public record" you know......those pesky court transcripts.

I have no idea. I don't associate with him in any way, shape or form. He did something to a member of my family that was horrible and therefore, I have enough class and dignity not to have anything to do with him. Any other questions?
