  1. I follow the Walter Reeves' calendar: http://www.walterreeves.com/calendar.phtml See also: http://www.walterreeves.com/lawns/article.phtml?cat=6&id=353 for a lawn specific guide (what I use). I do spend a lot of time outside when my kids are playing. One of my past times is walking the yard and pulling weeds. I do know that I have far fewer than my neighbors that use services. Depending on what you did last fall, you may have another season of fighting weeds before it looks better in 2011.
  2. I know many of you frequent this area of Acworth, so I thought I would post this info on a train into semi-truck collision: http://www.wsbtv.com/news/22399769/detail.html
  3. I have used South Paulding Lumber in the past. 4615 Mulberry Rock Road, Dallas, GA 30157 (770) 445-5256
  4. One thing that I did like about the last chairman was that he was accessible and open. Too bad the simple tree farmers is afraid of the heat.
  5. I love it: "One couple was surprised when they came to drop off their cats at the shelter. I don't know. I pay my taxes like everyone else does, and I was expecting them to be open now, James Guillebeau said." Apparently this guy can't look after his own animals and crys foul when the shelter is closed to stop the disease in its tracks?
  6. Mine was the highest ever - cooling or heating season at $336 for a 3150 sq/ft house. I am all electric.
  7. should a pardon be considered for the effector of justice?
  8. hopefully, you found $560
  9. I know some of you knowledgeable gamers can answer this one for me. From my searching, I cannot determine the answer. Is a Xbox Live Gold membership for a single profile or for the Xbox system itself? If I have two profiles on the Xbox, do I have to purchase two live gold certificates? TIA
  10. I use Acworth Family Eyecare. I've ordered from Zenni - backup pair that worked fine. Costco is a great place for glasses if you are a member My prescription did change. I had reading only glasses that I used on the computer. The new lens allows me to see the door if you come into my office instead of looking over the lens or taking them off. It is very straight on - meaning I have a 17" monitor and, right now, if I want to view from the top left corner to the bottom right, I have to move my head, otherwise the outside image is distorted. I don't know if this will get better or
  11. My eye prescription changed recently and the eye doctor talked me into "computer lenses" which give me reading as well as "intermediate vision" for vision at the computer screen. I am on the computer 8 -10 hours a day. Have any of you used this lens? It has a very narrow focal point on my compute screen. I tend to move my eyes from left to right instead of my head. If you have converted to this lens, how long did it take you to get used to them?
  12. I just had a class on this last week. See Revelation 2:5 (ESV) 5Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent. We know that little man cannot comprehend the work of the Lord - Isaiah 55:8 (ESV) 8For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD. In my opinion, the US is on a quick road to having our lampstand removed. We have become proud and turned from Him. Hosea 13:6 (ESV) 6but when the
  13. I have never heard Cobb SO or PD use 10-codes.
  14. to me, the scary thing is how unreliable the HIV testing is.
  15. We had a great example of the good old boy network. I thought for sure Richardson would do the same - but he didn't or couldn't. I am all for self-reliance and low government control.
  16. do you think that "simple tree farmer" could make it downtown?
  17. SG, aren't you in Maxwell's district? The speaker casts tie beaker votes, assigns committees, etc. That district has no representation. I thought for sure that a "fill in" would be appointed by the governor until a special election later in the year. Richardson certainly did not bring home the goods, ala Tom Murphy, to our local community, so I don't expect much change whomever is elected.
  18. I guess the voters of that district have no house representation until that time....
  19. I thought the East Germans perfected the genetic engineering thing back in the 70s.
  20. I think it is funny to go back and look at him when he was younger. He looked like a 135# 14 year old. When he hit all those home runs, he had bulked up a ton.
  21. I am shocked: http://sports.yahoo....ov=ap&type=lgns "Mark McGwire finally came clean, admitting he used steroids when he broke baseball's home run record in 1998."
  22. naturegirl, I'd be roasting in my 0-degree bag calling for you to bring my coffee. Maybe we'll have to put this one on the calendar for next year!
  23. I was just joking with the cold comment. I'll absolve you - 4x4 doughnuts in the snow will not mess up the PS pump - it is harder on the u-joints, transmission, and differential....
