Thanks for sharing. I did not experience any of this growing up nor have my children. A couple of years ago when my wife was dying in hospice, I would look more at people in stores. They did not know what I was going through and I did not know their stories.

If you stop it at that plant, the cat will find somewhere else to go. Train it in the bathroom. Mine is going on its 4th week inside.
