Well when the schools make excuses for the parents not being there period, what's left? After all these kids come from poor homes, their family life sucks, they don't have two parents in the home. On, and on. There are some people who make excuses for how low the grades are, and the lack of parental involvement without the kid being in trouble. At the point that the kid is being an ass, they may as well be introduced to their future home.

Could you put a wooden box up next to the mail box? Maybe that will encourage the bird to build there instead. Or at the very least maybe it could serve as a temporary mailbox.

But, the Bible has been placed in hotels for many years, and yet the hotels seemed to have no ill effects to them. So, now would we be correct to presume that when you make reservations you will start asking if they have any books of any religious nature in their rooms. Will you ask them to remove said books or will you not book the hotel room? Are you of the atheist religion? It really doesn't matter, just wondering.

I do understand what your saying, however I'm thinking of sending DS's lunch with him next year. He is an athlete, and what they get for lunches does not fuel his body. My other concern for these so called "portion" amounts is the accounting for the changes that happen in the middle school years? What would satisfy the elementary child will in no way do the same for a middle school child.

If the Atheist Religion is so put out, they are more then welcomed to leave their Bible in the hotels as well. Same with the Koran, whatever the Buddhist call their Bible, and the Wicca too. I would also be in favor of the Torah being left as well. Hell just put a library in, and call it a day. As for me I carry my own Bible.

Well McDonalds is really gross anyway. I'm wondering if what is being called ADD is really just normal. The weird ones are the calm people. I too recognized the ADD in myself, when having to do the work to find out DOS ADD issues. It seems to me that the more folks think about it they would say they too are ADD. What is the difference today then when we were kids? I grew up in sunny South Fl. we were always told get outside, and run off some of that energy. Today our kids don't do that. I understand I do the same with my grand kids. However the point of the topic is that in America, seems like every kid is ADD/HD, etc. and needs to be medicated. That is not the case in France. When I was reading the story It struck me that the French set boundaries, here in America we used to do that. We no longer do. We do however, medicate our children until they are zombies, and fall into line like good little sheep. When did we change? Was it during the 60's, 70's, or before then?

I know that there are children with ADD/HD, and other issues. So with those children being the EXCEPTION and NOT the rule this is very interesting. I was at an event the other night, there was this very cute 3yr old running, and playing, and haveing a generaly marvolus time. I made a comment about how much engery she has (as adults don't we often marvel at the engery of a 3yr old) The grandmother, stated yes, she is ADD. So now any child that is running, and playing, and in general being a normal whatever age is ADD? How very sad is that? Yes, I told the grandmother she looks/acts like a 3yr

REALLY???? I can for a fact say I would never ever do anything that would be even close to this. And, yeah I have more then an idea of "this woman's shoes." She made the choice to do this. She chose this. There is no excuse for this.
