  1. I always order my drink w/o ice. If it is hot like now, I ask for light ice. If the drink comes to me with to much ice, I hand it back, and make them do it again. And, we NEVER go to McDonalds.
  2. Yep, it is a great day trip. If you "pan" for gold, taking your time is the key.
  3. I know at least three working families that could use food stamps, and cannot get them. I worked at Waffle House, my husband worked a job that barely kept a roof over our heads. Granted this was years ago, point is we never qualified for food stamps. It's all about how well you know how to manipulate the system, and how low you will go to lie to get gooberment entitlements.
  4. Looks like there is just one turn that goes upside down. I might try it. I usually don't do rides that turn upside down, so I just don't know.
  5. My oldest will be 31 in Nov. I so know how you feel.
  6. A boy awesome!!!! Congrats He is so very cute!!
  7. Tell the doctor to give him augmentin. It is expensive even with the co-pay, but so worth it. My youngest had an ear ace when he was 4mos old. Went through the amoxicillin then went to augmentin. ETA: DS hasn't had an ear ache since.
  8. I know the feeling, mom would have been 90 today. There isn't a day that goes by with out me thinking of her. I would have loved to have called her today to tell her that DS made A/B honor roll, and tell her happy birthday. I miss my mom. Go see them if you can.
  9. Depends on how significant it is. I can still remember every detail of the car accident I witnessed 11 years ago. I also remember stuff when it happens on a significant date. IE: if something happens on or near a birthday for one of my kids, I'm more likely to remember it then if it were just a normal day.
  10. Yes, somebody already did. I just say he was qualifiying, and looking for that left turn. Although normal folk would be under the jail house.
  11. Have you ever spoken with the family. As in hey welcome to the neighborhood? If not then my approach won't work. However if you have at least a passing relationship, then maybe you could speak with the two oldest girls. Maybe explain that while the attention is nice it really isn't the kind of attention they want. I'm sure there is a way you could do this without seeming like the nosy prude across the street.
  12. I thought it was a great thing. We see and hear so many bad things about sports figures, I thought it was nice to hear/read something positive for a change. I think they are still looking for a couple more of the people who assaulted this man.
  13. I hope the kids go to college, and their dad is fully recovered to see it. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/blog/big_league_stew/post/Barry-Bonds-will-pay-college-bills-for-Bryan-Sto?urn=mlb-wp7656 Bonds has pledged to pay any future college bills for the two grade-school age children of Bryan Stow, the single father and San Francisco Giants fan who was beaten into a coma by two men after attending the opening night game at Dodger Stadium on March 31.
  14. It looks like a boy, which means it is probably a girl. Oh, and they are setting Jazz up to be bullied. I've read about 3-5 stories on this. It's been "out" for a while.
  15. After seeing the pics from the wedding, I now realize just how bad my posture is. I loved the dress, but it would have looked so much better if I had stood up straight. As far as having a friend that will tell you how you really look, AMEN!!! Thank you Emily for helping me pick out my dress for the wedding.
  16. Awwe come on now. He was just looking for a left turn.
  17. HirM pd on scene looked to. be 3 cars
  18. {{{hugs}}} and a prayer.
  19. I agree, I reported it, hopefully it will get moved so folks can make plans to be there.
  20. Ridge Rd. Kroger and Dallas Nebo Ingalls both were 3.89 earlier. Sams was 3.83. That was today.
  21. But, not so long ago breast feeding was discouraged. After all the formulas were so much better. I'm thinking we have come full circle. Nurse the child all the way through the NATURAL weaning process. If society doesn't like who cares. For those of you who keep stating that a child should be eating regular foods, they usually are. They usually are also using a sippy (never had a bottle.) Mine did all that, and still nursed. So, say what you want, I know that my kids have no allergies, have rarely been sick, and are highly intelligent.
  22. Seems like this is a problem that the MINORITY of people are having. So, the answer is to punish the MAJORITY. I have honestly NEVER seen a child over the age of 3 nursing in public. All of the women that I have known have nursed their babies/toddlers very modestly. I have more of a problem with no home training people then I do with this. IE: fixing your or your child's hair at the table/booth in a restaurant.
  23. I nursed all three of mine. They each weaned themselves, first at about 1yr, 2nd was almost 3, and the last was right at 2. Each of them also slept in our bed until they were ready to sleep in their own. First one at 2, second at 4 (she did have a pallet beside our bed till she was 6), third at 3. I love the fact that my kids know, and trust us enough to talk with us about ANYTHING. Wonder if it has to do with the early bonding?
  24. I was going to post this, but I'm glad I looked before I did. So, I think the point is to be prepared. If you were/are a scout or are/have served in the military, your going to be prepared anyway. :gotagetstartedonthatbombshelter:
