  1. PCHS is now 56% The other school WILL shoot up their votes today so we can't relax on this. The other school went up over 3,000 votes yesterday in less than 15 minutes. LET'S GO PATRIOTS!!!!
  2. I hope everyone remembers to 'VOTE' today. We are in the number one position but the voting continues until Friday so we need to keep voting to keep it that way http://www.high5sports.com/dpp/field_trip/high-5-field-trip-poll-20120315-es LET'S GO PATRIOTS!!!
  3. You can vote from the website as many times as you want rather than text only 3 times per hour. http://www.high5sports.com/dpp/field_trip/high-5-field-trip-poll-20120315-es
  4. We're ahead by over 12,000 at the moment so maybe this is a good time to fix dinner I remember when we all did this for the game of the week for East. Such a tight race on that one.
  5. I have been voting all day and right now PC is in the lead!! GO PATRIOTS!!!
  6. This makes me very sad. I have to agree with Coach Dorsey, he was an excellent teacher. I hated any history class I ever had, especially the one where one coach just sat behind his desk and read the paper during the whole class, but Coach Collins made learning fun and got me interested, and that was not an easy task but he managed to do so. He was an awesome and wonderful teacher and my thought and prayers go out to him and his family
  7. With all due respect Mr Rhett, I personally know the officer at PCHS and I can tell you that if he said that to you, then he was being genuine with you in regards to the situation. I can GUARANTEE you that he meant exactly what he said. They are required to follow the rules/laws from the administration of the school while following the law and what is required of them by their superiors. He also has a teen son and knows how it would feel if it were his own child. He is wonderful with the kids and really does care about them. I'm sorry but I have to defend someone that I have seen for the
  8. Years ago for me also. I would love to go but a) It's a long drive and it's a long drive. lol I loved going when I did go there, not a drinker but I love to dance. The crowd on a Friday night is what I would call 'hook up' crowd and so I would always go on a Saturday. If you're considering it and decide to go, let me know how it went.
  9. You had mentioned that he didn't have his license so I would suggest not to focus everything on the weight. Get him the drivers license manual and have him study that and possibly after you have seen him studying, either you or his dad could ask him some questions. This will show him that you're interested in other things besides the weight issue and it's something that once he takes the test he will feel that he has accomplished something. He will feel more like the 'adult' that he now is. I would take him out practicing driving as well. This will also make him feel good about the intere
  10. I used to live there when it was first built and it is a good neighborhood. Assuming that nothing has changed, which I know is unlikely, the only issue I really had was the 4 wheelers flying up and down the road which came from other areas and not anyone in the subdivision itself. The front half is mostly older families with grown kids, the back half had more younger children which again has probably changed. I agree though, I would check with the sherrifs department and see what history says.
  11. Holy Cow!!! I could only pray that I would get an offer of one full time job. I've been to many interviews, have another one on Monday, but nothing has panned out yet. I've never gotten assistance with any utilities, mortgage or anything. How in the world anyone could turn down two job offers, much less one is beyond me. I personally don't have the nerve to go to others and ask for help, I would feel too guilty for doing so. You're a great and wonderful person to have done as much as you have for them. I know it's hard to not let it all bother you but it seems as they are certainly taki
  12. Hahaha, you're so funny!! No one ever said times weren't tough for everyone, you imply that I did. I never said I was different from anyone else, you imply that I did. Me complaining? No, again you implied that I was. I was merely repsonding to your oblivious comment to those seeking employment. By the way, if you take the time to read the comment you would see that what I said was working two part time jobs is hard to do. When you have one job and the other job is scheduled for the same day and overlapping time of the first one, they will not compromise and change the schedule for you
  13. Sureeeeee, I can re-train but for what position that is in high demand in this economy? Oh please tell me righteous one!!! In the meantime please tell me who in the heck is going to take care of my bills, pay my mortgage, and be there for my child that has to be raised and taken care of, since I AM THE ONLY one doing that?!?!?!?!?? Hahahaha, more time looking for a job instead of being on here? Oh yes because I know those 5 minutes made such a huge freaking difference in my finding a job. If you look on the dang page you will see there was a posting about 600 jobs coming to the Northwe
  14. Are you freaking kidding me? You apply for job, after job, after job and yet nothing. That's not top dollar jobs either, heck there aren't any of those around anyways. The minimum wage jobs by the way only want to hire you part time. After taxes, gas, and automobile upkeep how much exactly do you think someone has left over to pay a house note or electric bill or groceries to feed their children? You can work two part time jobs at minimum wage but the chances of getting anyone to schedule you around another position's schedule, for them to coincide with one another and work out . . . . is
  15. This is so true in more ways than one and people do not see the big picture of the small people. Everyone recently has been discussing the fees that the 'bigger' banks are going to start charging but has anyone considered using a 'community bank'? These are banks that start their business here and loan money to those of us here so therefore put the money back into OUR communities. There are so many other examples that could be used but if we don't start supporting our locals then we aren't going to get any better. JMO
  16. I wish this was the problem with my neighbors. Three of mine (we're in a cul de sac) have dogs that stay inside and when they let them out guess who gets the poop? You got it!!! Now my dog stays outside but is not free to run loose therefore I have my dogs poop to deal with in the back yard and the neighbors dogs poop to deal in the front yard with when cutting the grass. Any suggestions on what to do would be considered as well as appreciated. I know what I feel like doing but it's not my job to have to pick up anothers poop. I don't actually see the dogs doing the act but I do see t
  17. That is amazing!! What a wonderful feeling it must be to witness that. Congratulations to him and your daughter as well for caring and taking the time that she has with him for him to learn that.
  18. As well can you find out if they are living somewhere else or staying with someone. I have some household items and possibly some clothes for the 8th grader. Thanks for any information you may have.
  19. Does anyone know anymore about this family? Do they have family helping them or some other sources they are using? I haven't seen where anyone has made arrangements to help them so if anyone knows anything it would be greatly appreciated.
  20. I hate to burst a good thought bubble, but I highly doubt many of the aluminum cans would find their way to a recycling bin at a football game. Most of them get left in the stands and if they were to make it out of the stands, in a dimly lit area, with a crowd trying to get out, the first place they find to throw them is where they'll wind up at. Typically that would be the standard trash can. It would be wonderful if they could make it happen but most teenagers (which is the largest part of the crowd) aren't going to care what bin it makes it in.
  21. So very proud of the THE Paulding County High School Patriots and their fans!!! That crowd rocked the place!! I am so happy to finally see some spirit brought back into that school. What a difference it makes, a huge difference. Keep it up PATRIOTS, you got this!!!
  22. I will always try to let others out if possible. The majority of the ones I will go out of my way for are school buses and large trucks. When I used to live off of 61, there was at some points a bus trying to turn off of Winndale Rd. onto 61 and considering the small bridge there it was difficult since traffic had to be clear in both directions. If I was coming 61 from 278 and saw her sitting at the stop sign at Winndale, I would stop in the middle of the bridge and allow her to turn out. I had to stop farther back since she would have to make a wide turn. Tractor and trailers usuall
  23. I agree. If she was pulled over was she made aware of all the complaints and/or that there is a video of her driving? I only wonder if she will just travel another route so that she might continue her behavior.
