Bad intersections and very slick roads*wrecks*

Goldmine rd is closed. -
I know the topic is about lady bugs but when I saw the mention of yellow jackets I just had to speak up to anyone that has an issue with them and wants to get rid of them. My child is allergic so prior to my comment that I'm going to make ....... I don't want to hear anyone complaining or any comments about how they are good for ANYTHING. But anyways, I have found something that WILL kill them on contact. Believe it or not, ANT, ROACH AND SPIDER killer (spray in can) will kill them on contact. If you don't believe me, get a can, spray a yellow jacket and watch it drop like a rock. I l

Another Paulding teen killed in an Auto Accident,
DebThornburg replied to Mrs G's topic in RECENT TOPICS
The Paulding teen that was killed in an accident Friday was due to a blowout on one of his tires. It was not wreck less driving, alcohol involved or speeding. It was a freak accident. To my understanding, he was coming home from college (I believe) to spend the evening with his girlfriend for their 3 years together. My thoughts and prayers go out to the young lady and his family and friends. May God's newest Angel protect and keep them -

This little male Shepherd mix was found in our Canterbury Lane sub division in Paulding County, off Bakers Bridge Rd. It had a 20 ft dog runner cable attached. Maybe we can locate it's owner.

Well if you're going to be on Goldmine Road then expect to get behind some of those DA's! Goldmine is slushy to say the least and drivers are going slow as to be safe to get to their destinations, probably home. Oh and the temp is going to drop so be prepared to be behind some more of those DAs' in the morning, I mean IF you're going to be on Goldmine that is -

I am curious. How many parents don't know?
DebThornburg replied to DebThornburg's topic in RECENT TOPICS
If a child is staying at my house for the night with my child and they get a text or call saying there is a party or something going on and they should come, do you think I am going to let them leave? That is not holding them hostage, that is being responsible while they are in my care. Now let's say that I did let them leave and something happened to them. Who do you think the parent is going blame or hold accountable for their child being in a bad situation when they were in my care? Yeppp, ME!! I'm sorry but if my child is staying at a friends house, with the parents permission -
I am really wondering how many parents seriously do not know that there is a curfew if your child is under the age of 18. For those who really are unaware, there is a curfew of midnight. If your child is at my house or comes to my house after they have been out to the movies, football games, or anywhere else for that matter, they will not be allowed to leave after midnight. I really wish that other parents would have the same consideration when my child is in their home but that doesn't seem to happen. For that reason my child has limited friends houses that they are allowed to stay

Great job Schleicher!!!! He is an awesome guy and wonderful friend to all and I must say that he has helped me many, many times -
Did that too. Imposed the rule that if anything bad, nasty or disrespectful came across that they were to no longer text that person. Checked text records to see as well. Also once that happened I would login to myspace or facebook accounts and delete them. I was young once too, although we didn't have texting and internet I know what to look for. Any new phone numbers texting I would find out who it was. I'm not dumb enough to believe that they would'nt use others phones to text my child also. Just this morning alone I have seen many posts on the twitter news feed mostly, about

I did the same thing, except at the time it was Myspace. Still to this day I have both of my child's password and login information for twitter and facebook. The things I saw directed at my child that was inappropriate, I deleted the person who said or sent it. There is no excuse for disrespect in my book. When I spoke to a parent about something that was said to mine (while they were in the 8th grade) I was told "boys will be boys". So that's an excuse for you as a parent? I think not!!! What troubles me is what I have seen on twitter and facebook. Pictures, language, activities, e

What most are putting on facebook is mild compared to what they are tweeting. Most kids now have twitter and most adults/parents do not. I know many, I repeat many of the kids that my child has known for years and the things they are saying AND doing is just shocking. These are well known kids, active in school activities etc. The parents are just letting them go where they want without having a clue 'where they are really going' and what they are doing. Needless to say, when I know things that the others are doing . . . mine doesn't hangout with them or go off with them, not anymore. Ju

In reference to the kids being punished 'after the courts' are done with them, I have one question . . . . . . If a student, 17 or 18 years of age, were caught with weed or any other type of drug, what would happen? There WOULD be punishment from the school, immediately I might add. They would also be dealt with in the judicial system but I promise you that the school would not wait to see what happened in the courts. Before anyone says it's not the same . . . they are both illegal, regardless of the punishment level, they are both illegal and should face immediate p

I am trying to, when I can actually 'sneak' and do it. We are holding at a good pace too

Welcome to pcom Plaintalk. I'm really hoping that everyone will come together and support PCHS as they do the other schools in the county. My thought is also that since school is out on Friday, the kids will be staying up Thursday night to catch up if we get behind again as we did yesterday.
-
I will bet you money on that. It seems that once school is in session their numbers start soaring. I am proud of the PCHS students that are voting and encouraging everyone else to vote. Mr. Fincher has changed some attitudes at PC and made the school so much better. I was also impressed to learn that he personally made calls to those affected by the tornado this past weekend. Mr. Fincher is the best thing that could've happened to PCHS. Anyways, everyone go vote and help these numbers to go higher and stay higher during the day while the kids are in school VOTE -
-
From the website you can vote as many times as you want. Texting is only allowed three times per hour.

We are back in the lead but I'm sure it will change. GO VOTE AND MAKE PCHS PROUD SCHOOL 3 - PAULDING CO. HIGH 47.5% (131,831 votes) SCHOOL 2 - CHARLES DREW HIGH 45.8% (127,237 votes) SCHOOL 1 - HEARD CO. COMPREHENSIVE HIGH 6.7% (18,737 votes) 277,805 total votes
