If you were wondering where all the PCSO's were tonight
DebThornburg replied to Harlee71's topic in RECENT TOPICS
HOLY COW!!!! Seriously, go figure!! NO ONE was bashing East!!!! Stating what someone said is NOT bashing the school!!!!! I merely stated comments I had read prior to the game and comments made AFTER the game in reference to 'meeting to fight', that was FACTS. My child is friends with students from all of the schools in Paulding on FB and I was just mentioning comments that I saw from some of her friends. I can't say that I saw any negative comments or statements from any of her friends that attend North so that is what I am going by. I did see some students comments from East that were t -

Considering all of the 'nasty' things some of the EP kids were saying on their FB accounts (friends of my child), I'm not suprised they were all there. Geeezzz, talking about counting your eggs before they hatch! Things only got worse after EP actually lost, which they were all talk about how they wouldn't, "just like football" as most of them said. Afterwards they were posting things about meeting someplace to fight the North kids. I couldn't believe how they were acting over losing a game. Mind you that I didn't care either way, my child doesn't attend either of the two schools but I wa -

Yes it certainly will. The unemployment office is extremely busy. The staff there is overwhelmed so much that they can not even get to their messages on their voicemail and most of their boxes are so full that you can't even leave a message. Sad but true.

The other end is 278 and 101 but yet I could understand why that would be closed due to the steep hill there.

Be careful on your porches, stairs, and sidewalks

My poor dog was in the garage and when I let her out at the pedestrian door she took off and her feet went out from under her and she went down on her side. I felt horrible but it was dark so it let me know that it was icy before I stepped out. She was okay, she got right up and ran to the yard but when it was time to come back in she went towards the door and stepped slowly onto the concrete before heading in. She probably saved me from busting my butt anyways. -
I have to agree, Anita is an awesome person. She found our dog Angel in the middle of the road last January when we had the big snow and ice. She took her in and put her in a foster home where we went and picked her up and she is now safe at home with us to this day. Thank you Anita for being an amazing and awesome person!

I was so afraid of that and I am extremely sad to hear the news. Prayers to the family and friends.

School time delay for tomorrow morning
DebThornburg replied to HawkeyeAngel's topic in Paulding County NEWS
EPHS will start two hours later just like all the other Paulding County Schools. Normal start time is 8:35 so therefore it would be 10:35 (must be in class seated). The buses will be running two hours later as well. No need for buses on the road any earlier than they would expect the kids to be out there waiting, hence the two hour delay for school starting. -
According to Polk County all the bridges in the county are iced over so anyone traveling in that area be advised as well. Witnessed two accidents before getting into Rockmart.

No I didn't. The officer I asked said he saw his chest moving so he knew he was alive at the time but he said he didn't look good and he was unresponsive when transported.
-
No it was not. I spoke with one of the officers that was on the scene for that exact reason and he said it was a man walking down the road. I am so thankful that it was not a student but my heart goes out to the gentleman and his family.

I was wondering if anyone had heard or knew of the condition of the pedestrian. He just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and I pray that he survived. I hate that 61 is so busy and worry all the time that one of our PCHS students will be a victim, it's sad enough that we don't have a red light at the school for vehicles but even sadder there are no sidewalks for the kids that have to walk it everyday.

I must say that I understand how you feel because I see the same thing all the time but in my case I am unemployed... again, laid off from the last two jobs and unemployment benefits have run out and I have gotten no assistance from the government at all. I have a child at home that didn't get Christmas last year for the same reason and of course last year I thought this year would be better once I was working again but then two months ago due to lack of work I was laid off again. My child had surgery a few days after Christmas so I have had medical bills to pay, I have paid my mortgage, wate

We were at LMP on Saturday and Sunday and I actually commented to my daughter on a vehichle parked in the parking lot with an astronomers type sign/sun blocker in the windshield. There were hundreds of people, to say the least, at the ball fields for both days. These teams were from Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee and I believe South Carolina as well. I have not read all of the post here so if it's alreday been mentioned then I apologize in advance but I would certainly maybe get a list of the 23 teams that were there this past weekend and spread the word to all of the organizations so -
Zach is a freshman at Paulding High and Ashley I believe attends Scoggins Middle School. My heart has ached ever since we were told of Stevens passing. He was a father figure to so many of Zachs friends, he will truly be missed by them all but I know he will continue to watch over them from the heavens above. Much love, thoughts and prayers to Christy, Zach and Ashley. This is a very close family and they love each other so much. May God wrap his arms around them all and give them the comfort and peace at this time and always. RIP Steven

Oh thank you so much, that is so good to hear. I will keep them in my thoughts and prayers and hope for a speedy recovery for them both. Thank you again!

Me too!!! While we were at the service someone said that there was a young lady that was suppose to be there but she was involved in a head on collision at that location. I went down Golden South Parkway in route to the service but traffic was backed up from the accident so I turned around and went back down Goldmine. I truly hope that everyone involved is okay and I prayed that all the kids going to Blakes service would make it there safely so I hope my prayers were heard.
-
Does anyone know anything about this? I was told that there was a young lady involved that was on her way to the Memorial Service for Blake Waters who passed last Friday. If anyone has information it would be appreciated. Thank you

That is correct. The driver was the fatality and it was on Cole Lake Rd. His bestfriend was with him in the car and he was taken to the hospital and checked out and released. I did see him lastnight and spoke with him and he is doing remarkably well, a few cuts that are minor but he has so many friends around him and supporting him. I will say that they weren't doing anything wrong, it was just a freak accident and nothing more. Blake passed away in the arms of his bestfriend but I am thankful that his friend is still here with us to share the memories and good times that so many had with

Well I do feel I did the right thing. I think the biggest issue, although not told me to directly, is that the information I had even from his 'past' and that he would tell me and not tell her. That he would come to me for anything rather than her. I'm sorry but how many kids really go to their parents for every single thing. I tried to let her know that it wasn't me trying to be his mother but at least he did tell an adult. I told him if he ever got in a situation that I would be there to help him if he needed it. In my opinion I would want my child to have someone to go to if for whate
