I usually go that way to get to Humphries Hill Rd. two times a week, especially since 278 is the main road I live off of so it's a straight shot. Today I had to go to Hibbitt Sports so I got it out of the way so to speak. Going to Powder Springs though? Nahh, I take Macland usually to Florence Rd. I couldn't tell you half of the shops, resteraunts, or anything else that's down there. Usually someone will mention a store or something and I'll ask where it is and they say Hiram. My response is usually "Oh, I didn't know that." I don't see where I'm missing much so no biggie

LMAO!!! I seriously just LOL'd and my daughter asked what I was laughing at. I told her and her b/f what was said and they just asked me "is it not there anymore?" Now I don't feel so bad, they're teenagers and go through Hiram a good bit and they didn't even notice it.

Ditto!! I would have done come unglued on her butt!! The one time I saw the guy doing it at every intersection ticked me off enough but to put up with it almost on a daily basis? I think not!!! -
I don't go to Hiram much either, maybe go through there (passing through) two times a week. Well today is the very first day that I've noticed that the old Kroger is gone. Shows how much attention I pay to things going on.

Oh goodness!! That must have been her husband that I saw do the same exact thing a couple of months ago. A tan colored two seater did this all the way down 278 to I-20, even as we crossed Bankhead Hwy which is a larger intersection but at the time there was little traffic. I could not believe it when I saw it because I had never seen anyone that desperate to avoid the traffic lights. It was funny though that every single time we caught up with him and we actually got onto I-20 before he did. I hope she gets caught and I would be at the Shell if I lived closer and didn't have one in sch -

This is what I have been saying but did not post my feelings on here because I don't want those that don't believe to start a discussion over it and then the post becomes totally seperate from the OP title. People do not see right in front of their eyes what is going on, it's too subtle for them to notice. I myself pray that others may see this and pray with me rather than argue with me about my beliefs. If one doesn't believe this then that's fine but no need to bash MY feelings or beliefs on the matter. Great post nannyof5!! -

I have to agree with you on this one. I'm not homeless . . yet, but even if I become homeless I know better than to go out and rob, steal or cheat. I've known of some that have everything they need but yet still they were sent to jail for breaking an entering, stealing, etc. Sometimes people do it because they are bored, sometimes they do it because they are with the wrong crowd, sometimes they do it for attention, sometimes they do it just so they can say they did despite the risk. It doesn't matter what kind of background they come from or how much money they have, they just do it. I do -
High Crime area near Merchant's Drive

When I lived there we had a courtesy officer who was with Dallas PD. I can tell you that he walked the grounds, sat at the playground and basketball courts with the kids. When he reported residents to the office for what should have been violations the office/management wouldn't do anything about it. He left for that reason. I can tell you that once Katrina hit and Louisiana residents were transferred to those apartments, it only got worse from there. I'm not saying that all the problems were due to those because I can tell you that my apartment was broken into, I was home at the time -

If I had to guess, the boys had stayed or were going to stay at anothers house. They will put their belongings in the backpacks to carry to their friends (toothbrush, clothes, Xbox/PS games, cd's, etc.). I know the area is bad, I used to live in Merchants Court as well and it's gotten a lot worse but I have to agree that the complex behind Arby's is a quiet community. Now, the traffic or should I say most of it comes from: Merchants Court, Harris Bridge Apartments, Magnolia Crest Apartments, the apartments on WI Parkway behind the Dollar General on Bus 6, the subdivision near or across from -
I would just like to clarify some things so that either some can put their minds at ease or in some cases get even more upset. Per Comcast, the only way you are eligle for this program is: You have a child or children enrolled in school AND are on the free lunch program/food stamp program You are in the Comcast service area You have not had Comcast internet in the past 90 days You do not have any outstanding invoices with Comcast or missing equipment with Comcast. IF you do have current Comcast internet service, you ARE NOT eligible for this service. So even if y

Prayers said for the lady aa well as the young man involved. This breaks my heart as there have been so many accidents lately and my heart aches for each and every one.

I don't know or haven't heard anything else about this but there are markings on the roadway at that intersection so I can only guess that is was not good. Maybe someone will post info later.

I would feel quilty if I try to zoom up in a lane that I KNOW is ending just to try and get ahead of everyone else. I used to drive to Marietta everyday and I can tell you that the WORST and most irritating road area to me was returning home and coming down Macland Rd. and the right lane ends and must turn right only at the New Macland Rd intersection (at the Kroger). I once had a man pulling a covered little trailer do this, needless to say, IF your going to drive like an idiot or be a rude driver . . . DO NOT POST YOUR PHONE NUMBER ON YOUR VEHICLES!!!! Yes I called him. I asked him if th

After 14 years, I'm reentering the work force

Oh wow, that is a tough one. I would certainly let your current employer know the situation, if you decide to leave I mean. Most are understanding and if they had someone that was a close second to the position then they may still have time to hire that person before they are no longer available. Do what you heart desires, it's your future and no one elses' and I'm sure everything will be fine -
First of all, do you believe for one milli second that those trying to get over at the last minute didn't know a mile back that they had to get over? Being on the phone doesn't help but I promise you they know, they just, YES . . . think they own the road. I'm sure there are some on here that may know another route but more than likely it will still be the same and boy oh boy are you in for it next Monday!!! Good luck and hope you take deep breaths and count to ten often

If I might ask, I was just wondering . . . AFTER I realized this is the second week of August, why since the last week of June have you been trying to find out about the new offer? Why such a long time frame? That was like eight weeks ago so I was just curious. -

Yeah, that would be hard for me too. I would feel so guilty. Even if I was told not to feel guilty that it was okay I would still feel guilty. I hate being that way sometimes. Something else I need to work on. Good Luck with whatever decision you make and remember that everything happens for a reason. -
Yes, they are charging $5 a month for check card usage. It states : SunTrust Check Card Fee $5.00 Applies when the ATM Card or Check Card is used for signature, PIN point of sale, or recurring Check Card transactions during the statement cycle. This is effective November 10, 2011. So basically they're going to charge me $12 a month to have my account and use the bank debit card. I will close my account before that happens. I can't afford an extra $12 a month out of my pocket right now. T

Is the job offer for the same type of work or something you're more interested in? You have to enjoy what you do to be happy -
Unless they have changed, yes they do. It's more of an internal thing that you don't even realize is there but they actually do continue to have a hold for about a day even though the transaction has already posted. Once I finish reading all the print, including the fine print in the envelope I received from Suntrust today, then I will decide if I am moving on. As of now, it states that they will start charging me a monthly fee if I don't have direct deposit. To avoid the fee without the direct deposit I must maintain a balance of $500.00. Well when your out of work you can't really gu

Okay, so just out of curiosity have you seen the job listings on craigslist? Companies (99% of them) do not post their name, phone numbers or addresses on their job listings. It is rare but occasionally you may see a posting with a fax number to send resumes to but the information of the companies are typically confidential. The reason for this, especially today, is because they get so overwhelmed with applicants so therefore it is easier to receive emails and review at their leisure rather than have the phone ringing constantly or the fax running out of paper. As far as selling

Hahaha, funny. Uhmm, have you actually been in the library during the day? There is a huge amount of people online with the library computers every day. This offer is not going to make that happen any more than it is now. Do you know that everyday when searching for jobs on craigslist that there are so many scams? They are doing this to people who are desperate for work. These people are not from a low income family I can guarantee. Look at the headlines everyday and for every criminal of low income there is one of a higher income. It's just 'more classy' when it comes to exposing the

I would think that scams or crooks with the ability and knowledge of using the internet to do so would already have a computer and internet access and plans already in motion, as we have all seen and heard about. Why would you think the low income or needy family would be the ones to create scams or be crooks via the internet? That's a silly statement.

You didn't state that they were bad choices nor did you say they were good but you did say "If you are in a position where you have no family or friends that are willing to let you use their internet to look for jobs, or you have no family or friends that can take you to the library a couple of times per week, my guess is that it because of choices you have made that have put you in this position." Sounds like an implication to me as well as a lot of assuming on your part. For your information my family moved to Villa Rica while I was living in Marietta. I moved to Dallas, which is clos
