  1. Well, you were right. There are exceptions! I didn't put myself in ANY position to not have family or friends let me use anything. My family lives 25 - 30 miles away, therefore my gas to the library would be cheaper than going to my families. Going to my friends houses would also be further than the library since most of them live on the other side of Dallas from where I live. As far as neighbors go (which you didn't mention but I thought I'd let you know ahead of time) . . in my cul de sac there are six houses (not including mine), one is empty, two of them just moved in, one doesn't hav
  2. You may call it whatever you want, no one really cares to be honest!!!! I have networked through every possible avenue that I can in my chosen career but it is a fact that the housing market/failure has caused even my networking friends to also be unemployed. I have an impeccable work ethic reputation, I can promise you that and have references from most of the people I dealt with (customers, builders, vendors) but that doesn't always do you much good when your field is not hiring. Before anyone says it . . . I have not applied for JUST that type of work. Regardless of what you apply for t
  3. Have you considered the price of gas and driving to the library everyday? Oh and that's only based on the hours they are open as well. I can tell you that with the Georgia Department of Labor's job board that most job listings go on between 9:34 and 11:34 each night. If you wait until 8:00 - 9:00 of the following morning, then nine times out of ten you will get an email stating that the position is no longer available. Why? Because those that have home internet can apply for the jobs before you and therefore they receive more resumes/referrals than they need so they close the listing for
  4. Imagine being unemployed and trying to search for jobs or email resumes . . . without internet!! It's a catch-22. Of course you want to pay for your house, car, food, electric bill, etc. but 99% of the employers in today's world requires you to apply online and or send a resume which requires an email address which both require internet access. Also imagine that you're unemployed and have used or been a customer with the same cable/internet provider for 10 - 15 years, paying for full service all of those years and then you get laid off and can't afford it anymore so they disconnect you. Th
  5. Older black female and black man maybe in his twenties were again on the corner of Goldmine and 278 around 2:00 p.m. They were both holding the signs up that they were struggling. I got on here to see if someone had found out what their story was but after reading the posts I assume that no one knows yet. I didn't stop as I have nothing to offer since I have been unemployed for some time now and have myself and my child to take care of so we are struggling ourselves. They were not there when I passed back through at 4:00 p.m.
  6. It's a mom and I'm pretty sure it's two teen girls. We seen them about a week and a hslf ago, again at Goldmine and 278. I believe they were driving a green mini van. Holding up the same signs that said they were struggling. The mom, or the adult female, looked as if she was dressed in slacks, nice shirt with black coat/jacket. I don't know who they are but it sounds like they're covering a lot of ground. I personally couldn't afford the gas to cover that much area, if that is them at all of those corners I should say.
  7. Thank goodness!!! There is way too much traffic going in and out of there for it to left the way it is now.
  8. Thank you, I will try that. I was given 877-423-4764. Thanks again!!!
  9. Probably not but knowing him he will stoop to other means to get what he wants. I remember a year and a half ago when he went up to Scott's around 10:00 at night and was complaining. There was a loaded truck behind the store and the truck was running because it had cold food items in it. He wanted it turned off because he said he couldn't sleep. One of the employees had to call the owner of Scott's to let them know he was there threatening to call the sherrifs office. I'm not sure of the outcome since I left to return home and never heard what the results were. He will complain about any
  10. I am looking for a valid phone number for child support enforcement. Paulding and Cobb give an 877 number that is no longer in service, Cobb County's number 770-528-2410 has been changed and when you call the number it gives you it says it's not in service. Both counties tell me that is the only numbers they have but I'm starting to think Child Support Enforcement doesn't exist. If anyone has a number that they use, I would really appreciate it if you could pass it along. Thank you
  11. So I wonder what's going on now. The same white truck with the camper shell is sitting in the corner of the lot as you pull in just as it was prior to the installation of the poles. As I was passing the store there was an SUV making a U-turn at the entrance to Golden South Pkwy to get into the DG. The other day I was following a truck towards the DG and he proceeded to enter the DG through the exit so that he wouldn't have to go make a U-turn near Scotts, I have seen way too many U-turns at the entrance to the subdivisions as well as U-turns around the poles as entering and exiting. Maybe
  12. To say this is why they work for DG and NOT the DOT or an engineering firm sure sounds like a 'class' statement to me. Never the less, I don't recall where anyone said the clerks claimed to know anything about land development or that they had talked to anyone at the DOT or an engineering firm who did. The employees of DG only stated that the gentleman came in kinda bragging if you will that the poles were going to be put up thanks to him and that it wasn't a DG decision to have them put up. If they were also told by corporate or where ever they got their information that it wasn't DG that
  13. Hmmm . . . I don't think anyone knows why they work for DG except them. It doesn't matter where they work because where they work has anything to do with 'what they were and are told'. I do believe that the gentleman across the street may not like the store being there and more than likely did complain. I know of some history with him and others and he is not the nicest person in the world. He hates any and all growth in the area, especially the two neighborhoods beside and across from him. Regardless, to say this is why they work at DG and they don't know what they're talking about is un
  14. I was told the same thing tonight. This is the first time I have been in there since the poles were put up and had a chance to speak to anyone. I would like to add that I was also *told* that they are leasing the property and do not actually own it. I had originally felt bad for the homeowner across the street but now I have no sympathy at all. He complains about 'trash' being blown into his yard that comes due to the DG store. Well I have trash that gets blown into my yard as well but I pick it up and go, it happens to the best of us. Now the dog poop that ends up in my yard due to neig
  15. The homeowner of the first drive on the left after exiting DG has now put a sign up at the end of his driveway. Private Property - Stay Out. Or something to that effect. As I was leaving my subdivision today, turning left (going towards 278) there was a car coming from the DG area and proceeded to pull into the subdivision across the street from ours. As I saw they were turning into the subdivision I felt it was safe to make my left turn onto Goldmine. Boy was I wrong!! They made a U-turn at the entrance of the subdivision across the street so as I was making my left turn I had to stop b
  16. Merchants Court Apartments are just below the Kroger. All they have to do is go into the woods behind Kroger and walk down the train tracks straight to the apartments and the bowling alley there together.
  17. Prayers for this family. May God wrap his loving arms around them all and bring them comfort now and always.
  18. Yes, they did a traffice study. I saw the guy sitting in the corner of the lot for about a week. Others may remember him being there, he was in a white truck with camper shell on the back I believe or it may have just been a white SUV but it had a long body to it. Now with that being said, I wish they would come back and sit there again and do 'another' traffic study. Now that the poles are in place they need to see what the traffic is doing now as opposed to the way it was before the poles were put in place. I'm just saying that they should review it both ways and make a decision ba
  19. So you're tellig us that if you needed bread, milk, tissue, or let's say medicine that you would drive to Rockmart (16 miles round trip) or Dallas (20 miles round trip) to get any of those items rather than go to DG? Not me, I'd rather save the money I would spend in that extra gas and I can promise you that I haven't given up on life!!
  20. I know, I feel bad for them. If there are cars turning around in their driveway, it's hard to back out and see traffic coming down Goldmine because of trees and shrubs so it is certainly more dangerous to do this. As far as the neighboorhoods and the cul de sacs, go ahead, my cul de sac is way in the back so you wouldn't come that far back to bother me, that is unless you're just stopping by for coffee. (I do agree with you on that though)
  21. Well I can tell you that I was approaching DG from Goldmine (278 side) and right before I got to the store another car had pulled out to exit, went to the first driveway on the left and proceeded to turn around in their driveway. Was starting to back out of this persons driveway when all of a sudden they noticed me coming so pulled back up in the drive until I passed. The very next vehichle to pull out of DG (a white truck) did the exact same thing as the previous car. People are not even turning around at the subdivisions, they are turning into this families driveway instead. The drive go
  22. I can tell you that it is MUCH safer to pull out of DG than it is the neighborhoods. I live in one of those neighborhoods and the traffic coming off of 278 area is very difficult to see as they are coming up a slight hill and with the speed you can't be sure that by the time you decide to pull out that there still isn't anything coming. When traveling to the DG from the neighborhood, we as well can not make a left turn into the DG. We have to go to Golden South Pkwy, pull into Scott's parking and turn around and go back. I can't believe they have never made an entrance off of Golden South
  23. Most if not all of these kids were older. One male who is a 2010 PCHS graduate is in the hospital (do not know his condition). There were three others that were female but not sure if they are in the hospital or not and only have their first names. There is some question as to a male driver and whether he passed or not but I do not know if this is true. Sorry but this is all I know as of right now.
