  1. Since you work for the FAA could you help me out with their relocation reimbursement procedures? Does the county recommend it? the AA? The FAA? Can they go directly to the FAA? do they need a lawyer? Can the county prevent them from getting it? Were they not entitled to it when we were general aviation? Will they be entitled because we are going commercial? I am very concerned for the residents that live closest when the jets start flying in and out.
  2. This is my biggest concern. What happens around that airport will be decided by zoning. I am sure that the commercialization is a done deal. It is more about national and state pushing for economic development in this country. As far as I am concerned the time and energy are going into the wrong things. We have the ability to control how we are impacted by this airport through zoning. I am seeing signs of a big commercial boom in our county. We need to make sure there is no more residential building around the area. We need to control the size and type of hotels that can be built. We n
  3. Pubby will put up a video this week of Scott Green head of Paulding DOT. Folks are in for a big surprise when it comes to improving and widening. I am pretty sure that Scott said that all the land and right of ways have been acquired and the money is there to widen 92 all the way to 75. The Douglasville by-pass is complete. Some of these widening's will be completed this year.
  4. I think News Junky will especially be interested in this. Pubby replied to a discussion the other day talking about his visions of fair process.I am browsing the internet and saw the subject again brought up but in a different light. The discussions on here have been very heated about the process in which the airport was commercialized. Those of us that believe the airport needs to go forward in some way are not protesting the commercialization.I would admit that even the supporters of the commercialization have a bad taste in our mouth about the process. We accept it based on it
  5. You may have an option to turn on HTML in your composing box check and see.
  6. All the information is valuable to Pubby in the process. Please be patient as he works out the details. I have discovered one that folks need to be warned about. When you click on it and drop the menu a check option is facebook. I am pretty sure if you check it you will lose you will no longer be anonymous.

  10. I hope people take the time to really let your idea sink in maybe read it a second time. I don't think people really realize the deep thought and consideration that went into your reasoning. I probably know you better than most. I came into local political awareness more recently than many. I don't remember being aware of the airport before I came to work for you. In fact the first time I was truly aware is when Bob called who lives at the end of the airport runway and told me his situation. I had to ask Pubby about the airport. I probably know more about the early days than some
  11. I only ever had the type of migraine that you get behind the eye and I said the same thing. I could not have walked around, if someone had tried to make me I would have fallen to the floor in a ball screaming and vomiting. It occurred to me to gouge out the eyeball to try and stop the pain. Try the tourniquet and let me know if it helps for your migraine.
  12. It has been said of me that I am honest to a fault. Very few of us achieve complete honesty with ourselves. It is a well known concept in human behavior that human beings have emotional needs that are every bit as strong as physical needs. It is not hard for a human to manipulate their perception in their own head to make themselves comfortable. Animals are so much luckier in some ways, they mostly only meet their physical needs. Take a squirrel for instance, it builds a nest when the cold starts up in winter and the wind blows through the nest, she can't tell herself that the nest
  13. I am sitting here mouth open at this. My husbands uncle is Italian. He was first generation, his parents and relatives are from Italy. He told us one time that they had a cure for migraines that he used on his daughter when she was little and had them. I get them in the back of my head in the middle of the night. I have to sit or stand straight up to stop them. I start falling a sleep and when my head falls over it is back. My husband of course adjust people for them but they are best caught when the symptoms first appear. I decided to try the old Italian trick. I am not sure if it wo
  14. Planning and zoning absolutely has that right. As in I don't want a gas station next to my home in my subdivision. It is there to protect us. Even those that have bought or built homes out there knew the surrounding land was designated for aerospace. If you don't like it don't buy a home within miles of it. And before you jump me I have made it clear that I believe some of those people out there should get relocation due to commercializing. As I said the first few million should go to those homeowners.
  15. Actually what businesses end up around our airport will be in the hands of our planning and zoning here. If you take the airport out of the picture totally this is a critical issue that needs to be addressed and stayed on top of. We have the maps and documents from the community planning committee. That needs to be strictly adhered to. We can also ask for certain conditions like how many pawn shops can be within a 2-3 mile area. Those things need to be addressed sooner than later as we are entering into a growth phase as we come out of the recession. We have areas that are zoned industri
  16. I had to go lay down for the rest of the evening and didn't see these post. Thank you all for the kind remarks.' I am not a hater. I am not one to hold grudges either. I sometimes get caught off guard when others do. This community will get through yet another election. Hopefully some will be able to get past many of the hard feelings that they cause. You have to be a strong person to throw your hat in the ring here. If for nothing else you have to respect a person for doing so when it is all over.
  17. We have witnessed this kind of funny business before in legislative races, but seldom have we seen a Georgia judge bequeath his place on the bench to his offspring – in this case, a daughter. Last Monday, Superior Court Judge James R. Osborne qualified for another four-year term on the Paulding County circuit. Not unusual. Osborne was appointed to the post in 2005 by then-Gov. Sonny Perdue. But on Friday, the judge was joined by a single rival: Elizabeth Osborne Williams, a real estate lawyer working out of the Talley, Richardson and Cable law firm – of which Judge Osborne was a foundi
  18. More than likely that is a stock photo. I understand that Miss Patty has photos. Maybe she will share them on her website.
  19. Lucky many of these people are entitled to relocation reimbursement. I am doing some research to find out why it has not been offered to them. It is rather strange the the national guard had so much room to practice and most of it was being done over homes. Surely these men and women have homes and families of their own. They must have thought that the people of Paulding were extremely patriotic to embrace them training right over their homes.
  20. You might not want to say that publicly on Paulding.com. I was informed this morning that people in Paulding hate me. Not just disagree with me, or dislike me, they HATE me.
  21. The videos will eventually show it or I can pick up the phone. I really don't want to use the phone, I am very tired this was a hard day for me believe it or not. There is a reason I retired and I am following this as a private citizen that is involved and interested. If I called I would get sucked into more stuff or pushed to make some commitments for support of which I have none other than Pubby at this time.' It is inconceivable that I would not support him.' I am in no way a fair weather friend. I have not made up my mind on many things at this point. My agenda is private and my own in
  22. I checked the thread to look specifically for the answer. That thread was going one way and my question was in a different direction. There was a very big to do about none of them making a call. At some point I was under the distinct impression that an official or someone claiming to be an official called the National guard.
  23. I know the videos of the commission will be up soon. So others can help me out with this. I did not watch the channel 46 news story about the national guard. Of course it came up in the meeting. The commissioners were making a point that none of them contacted the national guard. Somehow I got the impression that someone called the national guard claiming to be a county official saying that citizens were being disturbed by the maneuvers out there. Someone help me out here. Please.
  24. So the speakers will speak in the morning?
